If he is out until the playoffs...I wouldn't read to much into that. Although we are tired with 2nd in the conference with San Jose, I think Babs is taking every precaution he can to make sure he has the healthiest team possible heading into the 1st round. He said earlier this week that if this was the playoffs, everyone would be on the ice and playing. I don't think these injuries are anything major and devastating. I think Babs just wants everyone healthy for the playoffs and make sure everyone is the best shape possible to make a deep run.

I'm with you. It's easy to be the "naysayer" and a pessimist. It's easy to say they are going to do bad cause it's a win/win for them. If they lose in the 1st...or 2nd, they get to say the "told ya so" like hank said. They win, they get to be all excited and I was wrong but at least they win! I just think the team is missing a few links in the chain. Hopefully, they can find those links with the resting some of the guys are doing. I'm just scared the resting is going to make them a little rusty and if that happens, the 1st round exit could look a little more likely especially if we draw Trashville in the 1st.

This is a major set back in the confidence I have rolling into the playoffs. But I am with a few other people on here, I am going to grow out my beard and believe and hope Jimmah can lead us in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe Jimmah pulls an Ozzie and becomes a brick wall and stands on his head. Yeah he let's in some soft goals but if the defense in front of him plays up to their potential and stops making stupid middle of the ice turnovers right in front of him, Jimmah can lead us. The Wings will win the cup! And Jimmah will be MVP!

The announcers were saying the same thing last night. As much as I hated seeing that goal disallowed and as much as I hate the NHL front office sometimes. right now the main priority and the main goal of the NHL is to focus on the safety of the players. When they have solved that, which they probably never will, then maybe the cry for replaying goals like that can be started. Besides, that goal, like many others, are all judgement based. It sucks that it seems a lot of the time we are on the bad end of the call but it's all judgement. I'm not sticking up for the God awful refs that were taking up space on the rink I'm just saying, there is a lot of human error. And judging from the error the Wings have seen, the IQ of the NHL refs is hovering at about 12. Let's get these players safe first and then we can worry about killing off some of the refs we don't like and instigating a review system on disallowed goals. :satisfied:

I've been saying since this thread was created, the last team we are going to want to face in the playoffs is Nashville. Right now we have Chicago and I know we can take chicago in 5 or 6. Nashville on the other hand, whoever draws them is going to be in for a long long series where they might lose a few players. Nashville hits hard and plays physical and we haven't been able to hold up against that this year at all.

As much as I would want to play the Stars(ex gf parents live in Dallas)....I had a dream that we played Chicago and Hossa beat us in OT in Detroit in Game 7. I woke up in a cold sweat and angry as hell! I think we end up drawing the Hawks but I'm hoping for Stars.
