I am a little effy about the Williams signing. I have faith in Holland but this one is pushing my faith. Maybe Holland believes Williams will work well in the system he has and can have a 45-65 point season. WHO KNOWS! What I do know is that I trust the front office and Holland and Babcock. I think the core of our team is solid. It just has the potential to crack.(like all teams do) Have faith in your team. ***** if you want to, but keep it off the boards unless it's a logical post. And by logic, I mean supporting your statement with some sort of facts. Not just you think Holland is a Moron!
-
I think he might get a look at some PT during this season. If we don't score enough, I think we will get 2 a point in the season were a scoring drought might be possible. I think Holland and Babs will call him up to see if he can give the team that spark he gave them in the SCF> But I don't care if he doesn't get called this year, I just want to see him where he belongs....in a White and Red sweater with the winged-wheel in the front. Is it preseason yet? I'm sick of waiting!!!

What about Abbey. I know I am an Abby supporter and a fan but is he going to be in the minors again? I saw him in the playoffs and he played amazingly. I just think he deserved his shot at the Pros. I think if you put him and Leino on a line together, they would be amazing wih each other. What yall think...yall thinik Abby deserves a shot with the big boys?

This is a great sign for the DRW. Holland is a god to get him at league minimum. As of right now, what does the roster look like for next season?

Look I love Cheli to death. I have watched him a ton over the years...But, IMO, he needs to hang up the skates. We got burnt on several goals in the playoffs because he couldn't keep up. I don't even know how many during the season. I think he would be a great person to have behind the bench of the Wings. I really just don't want Cheli to turn into the next Farve. Where he decides he wants to retire and play and retire and play and so on and so on. Hang up the skates....put on a tie....grab a clipboard....and help the Wings get back to the SCF.

Mike Grier's agent says he's 'interested' in Red Wings
WingZNut13 replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
There is no way he is going to take less than $1 million. Although I was really excited at first about this rumor, there is no way it happens. We just don't have the cap space. The only way we could take him would be to sign him for a long-term deal. There is no way they sign him to a long-term deal. He is past his prime...I give him maybe 3 more years in the NHL. -
Mike Grier's agent says he's 'interested' in Red Wings
WingZNut13 replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
I didn't know they moved meet the Press to the LGW forums but that's fine. I think Grier would be great for the Wings. I think Kenny can get it done I'm just a little scared that he is going to want more than we can offer. He will bring experience and leadership to the 3rd or 4th line but at a price. Does anyone know what he made last year at San Jose? -
That's classic! Very well done.

He is definitely a player who can play on this roster and make an impact during the season and post-season. I saw a few hits he has laid on people. I have never seen him throw the gloves down but I would love to see it. He is young....has a youth spark....that can go out and be a bruiser and also a skill player. I think abby has a spot on the 2nd or 3rd lines.

No the best quote was.... "Hey batter batter, hey batter batter, hey batter batter." "Averman...this is hockey." "Oh. Hummm goalie goalie goalie goalie. Hummmm goalie goalie goalie goalie"

I think this will be a testament to how well Hossa can handle pressure like the playoffs. You can say don't boo him as much as possible, but Red Wings fans will boo him and boo him often. I think he does the exact same thing he did at Detroit. He will a semi-great season and will buckle in the playoffs when they meet the wings in the 2nd round. Boo him all you want....what matters is how the players and staff treat him in his return to the Joe. Knowing Babcock and his staff....they will treat it like a normal preseason game. I have faith in Kronwall to attempt to destroy him once. We can't worry about Hossa. We need to worry first about filling the rest of our roster and ensuring everyone is ready for the season. f*** HOSSA! We don't need him.

Nice! I think Homer is a key part of this offense. Although he has has great succes and probably been a goalies least favorite person, this season will determine it all. If he performs, he will come back. If he gets hurt or doesn't perform, he will retire. I just hope he plays well this season and stays as long as possible.
-
No one wants to wait! We want to know right now who the hell is going to playing on what line. I check 5 websites a day to see if there is any news. I am sick of wondering who is going to fill those two spots!!! I have faith in Holland and the front office but I'm still a lil weary. It's way to early to be making predictions. I really hope/think/pray that they will win the division again. I think the only team to compete with us is Chicago..... With the team as it is, I am weary but I have faith. ....at this point, faith doesn't win a Stanley Cup.*cite 2009 season*

NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
WingZNut13 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
No way this happens. Homer, El Capitan, Lebda, and Maltby are all UFA at the end of next season. There is no way the cap will grow unless the economy shoots to the high heavens. There is no way he could come back and get anything more than he would get this year. (We have to remember Buttman hates the Red Wings and will do anything to f*** them over. This is why the cap will probably just stay where it's or decrease) -
NHL asks IIHF, KHL to negate Hudler's KHL Contract
WingZNut13 replied to Frozen-Man's topic in General
I'm with you on this one. Huds obviously doesn't want to be somewhere were he can't make more than what he feels he is worth. If he is just looking for money...go to Russia. I don't give a s***. I just want the Wings to be able to sign the best possible team sooner rather than later. Whether it's with Huds or without Huds. I think the NHL is *** for filing this grievance. Just let him go. Allow Holland to sign who he needs to because he can't do that till he knows Huds is gone 100%.(per that MLive Article) -
Do we have any idea when the regular season schedule will be posted.

I'm thinking we go after Chuck Norris for a season. Put him on some skates and let him send a roundhouse everyone. Just the thought of that makes me laugh really hard. :rotflmao:
-
I think he would be willing to come play here. I hope he would like to be part of something that has made it to the SCF 2 years in a row. But Tuzzi is a ******-nozzle, who only knows what is attitude is towards this whole thing.
-
We all know Holland is a Genius! I think they get something worked out in the next week or so. I just hope Hudler isn't a greedy bastard and decides he wants money instead of a great chance to play for the best franchise in professional sports!
-
There is NO WAY we don't win the division. I say around 110ish point, Z, Dats, and Franzen get 30+. I think Homer gets around 20, and Clearly gets around 25. We finish first in the Division and get Nashville in the first round of the playoffs.

With Hossa going to the s***c*cks, where do the Red Wings go from here? I heard rumors about Havlat, but they are simply rumors.
-
No I knew they weren't going to be able to resign him. I don't care where they go....I just hope Abby plays full-time next season!
-
So where does Detroit go from here. Without Hossa, who do they go for?
-
This is great news!!! I really hope Hossa can come back and play for the Red Wings next season. 4 million would be a nice bargin to have him. Someone said something about a NTC. I think that is a great idea. If he continues to suck...you can look to trade him for maybe 2 players or another comparabe player. I really hope Ken Holland works his magic and gets Hossa back to Hockeytown.
