90% I think home-ice advantage is HUGE!!!! I think Detroit is confident playing in their own place and they have the advantage when it comes to lines and such. They use the boards to their advantage. MAF has played horribly in JLA. If he plays anything like he has in the past...Detroit wins this game easy. Ozzie knows he is up for the Con Smythe. He is going to show up and be a brick wall. He is going to be calm, cool, and collected. The Wings know what is at stake. They know that Red Wing fans will die before they see another team raise the cup in JLA. The fans will be loud and will be behind the wings all night. The only thing that scares me is that the refs and the NHL are going to try to even this out with unfair penaltys. I think it is going to be close at first but the wings take over in the 2nd and 3rd and win this thing 4-2(with one EN goal) Back your team ladies and gents. Don't be cocky, be confident. I don't see how you can say he is overpaid. He scored 40 goals in the regular season. He also got less than what he asked for when he signed his 1 year deal. I don't think he is overpaid. He has played below average during the playoffs but his mere presence adds something to the line that he is playing on.

Very good idea. I would love to see some sort of mathmatical formula put into play. Another thing I would add would be a player vote. Both teams vote on their own team and the opposing team for a Con Smythe. I think this would add a little more credibility to the whole thing. It come come down to this.... WHEN detroit wins.......Ozzie is you Con Smythe. If Pitt wins....It's Malkin. Bottom line...I am calling it now.

In my opinion, he has nothing to be forgiven for. I mean why aren't we on Hudler's ass for making that mistake that lead to Pitt's first goal last night. Why aren't we bitchen at Cleary for missing a break away goal? Yeah Cleary has been playing a ton better than Hossa but everyone on here seems to call for a head when someone screws up. I don't think Hossa has anything to be sorry for. He is probably injured. Now assuming Hossa isn't injured, he is just lazy. Send his ass to free-agency!

Wasn't Hossa the regular season leading scorer? I am going to go with some type of lower body injury. I think he sucks it up and scores one on Friday and win the cup and silence all his critics.

No doubt they want to win in Detroit. But, they would have taken a win in Pitt tonight I'm sure. They are going to go home with the rowdy fans at the Joe and win the cup at home. They are going to play their asses off, win comfortably, and then raise the cup. They will be confident and so should we.

They played like s***. Everyone knows that. We have to play hockey like we know how and they only play 2/3 of a game tonight. Ozzie is keeping this team in this game. They need to look at Ozzie's performance and start to emulate it! I want to hear a report from the ******-nozzles at NBC that Ozzie ripped the entire team a new one. Hossa and Dats get goals in the 3rd. That period was less than amusing. I think the refs are missing calls. Two interference calls and a couple of other bulls*** calls. The Wings need to get their heads out of their asses in their own soon. IT'S SICKENING! Hopefully Babs talks some sense into them and let's them know that blind passes out of the zone aren't going to help them get anywhere. We have to stop giving up so many chances. I'm with you. I want them to win for Hossa. But more so than Hossa, I want them to win it for Ozzie. He has taken so much crap this year. When the playoffs rolled around, he was back to his old self. I really hope they can win it for Hossa and get Ozzie the Con Smythe to put into his trophy cabinet.

Great forum topic and it is so true. I think we can blame the officiating for being less than average. They have missed calls both ways but if you look at game 4, Detroit lost it themselves. They are tired and Pitt just wanted it more than we did. The wings have to bounce back and get ready for a steaming Penguin team. The people at the Joe need to be drunk, loud, and rowdy!!! There is no way the Pens are winning 4 of 5 from the Wings. I am still standing by my pick...Wings in 6. We go home...get some rest, get Dats back, and take a lead back at home and go to Pitt and win in 6 just like last year. As for all the doubters, don't be a bandwagoner.
