Really excited about the FS Detroit feed on the NHL network on a Red Wings game that I don't have to stream illegally on the internet! Really wanted to see Conner again but I guess if Bert is good to go, why not?!? Let's Go Wings!!!

I'm with Detroit #1 fan. I think this year, it means a lot to the Red WIngs. They seem to play a different style of hockey in from of the crowd at the Joe. It seems like the city of Detroit has almost rallied around the Red Wings like New Orleans did with the Saints. I think the President's trophy is a big deal. It says you were the best in the regular season and you get rewarded for that. Teams like Boston and Pittsburgh, and the Canucks have shown they can win outside of their arenas. Detroit on the other had is .500 ( as of 3/1/12) on the road and have a killer home record. It would be hard to argue against the President's cup meaning a lot to Detroit this year but in past years and most years, it's just a trophy without a trophy.

With a lot of people on here saying Nash is deserving of not getting traded, I pose this question......What does this whole situation do to his value this off season? Does it lower it because it puts a dent on his character and teams avoid him because he could be a disturbance in the locker room? Or does it have no value and he is still a top UFA this offseason?

Like all other Red Wing players, I expect him to step up and fill his role. I don't know much about him but from what I've read on here and other sites, he has the talent, has the size, just might need to work on the maturity and gameplay a little. I am not going to say he is going to be amazing. I'm not going to say he is going to be piss poor. I think he will step up, find his groove, (might take a few games) and will fill the void he needs to fill. Once he does this, it'll be up to his character and his willingness to bust his ass to get to the point where he is becoming a game changing player. Best of luck Smith....hope you blow us away and show us what you're made of! Let's Go Wings! The few games he was up earlier this season I liked what I saw. He seemed to be aggressive and had a good offensive mind set. Just a little scared about the pinching that was mentioned earlier because as we all know, the Wings are a little prone to odd man rushes.
