What Five Current NHL Players Do You Hate the Most?
NGKEIB replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
So you're of the opinion that annoying and getting under the skin of one's opponents is a tactic to be avoided? -
Battle of the soft Euros: Leino vs Artyukhin
-
I think that comparing him to Shanahan is a bit much, I doubt that if he makes it to the NHL that he will ever be more than an energy player, who can perhaps chip in with a few goals. Hasn't he said that he bases his style of play on Darcy Tucker (probably more to do with Darcy's tendencies towards agitating, as Callahan doesn't appear to have the goal-scoring ability)? Nonetheless, he's still a very exciting prospect.

Does Miller Brew perhaps mean that Holmström will likely retire and Lidström will take a paycut?
-
Osgood Oh, and Meech at below the league minimum.

Wasn't selected to play for Sweden in the Juniors, and is still with HV71 (not their junior club) because of injuries to defensemen.
-
Yes, Sweden are playing well, and Håkan Andersson is one of the pundits during the session between periods. Always nice to see him, as he is quite articulate. Sadly, Rödin was taken out by a pretty clear knee-on-knee hit, which provoked no reaction from the referees...

After the last game, Modin is looking like a better call.
-
Where to begin? How can Datsyuk be the 'second longest' player on our team, when Lidström, Draper, Maltby and Holmström have all been here longer? You may want to rephrase the bolded part about Franzén and Zetterberg... Holmström is talented. Fact.
-
What is wrong with being a bandwagoner? It doesn't seem to make any sense to support a losing team.
-
I think that he is referring to the foot speed of Marek 'Rocket Boosters' Malik.
-
Douglas Murray plays in the NHL, so Morozov doesn't want to.
-
Hmm... I'm pretty sure that getting them back (esp. Kronwall and Filppula) will help our defense too...
-
But now we're not scoring goals. Fire MacLean!

http://thehockeynews.com/articles/29880-NH...ty-minutes.html He's getting four games for the incident with Bradley, after getting called for cross-checking, instigating, fighting, a 10-minute misconduct and a game misconduct. I think that four games is excessive. Bradley had dropped/was dropping his gloves, Carcillo hasn't had any disciplinary problems before (bar putting up lots of PIMs), and he and his team were already punished by the penalties he got in the game. If the Walker-Ward incident didn't result in a suspension, why should this? Oh wait. It's the NHL. And I'm biased.

I also hate it (as well as the fact that Messier has any sort of involvement - the worst being how the Stanley Cup gets whored out so that it can feature, along with Mark, in some random kids basement surrounded by a bunch of chips), but I'm sure that's because I'm a backwards conservative.

That depends on which way you look at things. Hasek was a Vezina winner who played in Detroit.
-
No May again? Bummer for his father/son/whoever came to watch him play this weekend.
-
I would like to see Janik up again... He's been GR's best defenseman.
-
You're way off. Things started going downhill when Lilja was injured. He should be the captain.
-
So by your logic North Carolina and Texas are bigger hockey states? The success of the NHL franchise (beyond folding etc.) of the respective state is irrelevant, as the vast majority of the players won't be from said state.
-
There is still plenty of time for Lidström to get going, and I can't say I'm too concerned about him. If his defensive play was shockingly below par, that would be worrying... People should ask for dictionaries for Christmas so that they can learn the difference between disinterested and uninterested.
-
In all fairness, he hasn't looked as huggy this year as he has before...
-
Nilsson and Pouliot are okay.

Brad Norton.
