Once again it cannot be understated how devastating losing Lidstrom has been to this team, and coupled with Holland's inability to replace him to any meaningful degree is why our D corps remains a cobbled together mess

I can understand Holland wanting to be loyal and all, but shouldn't Cleary have some accountability also? Shouldn't he be able to, you know, still play hockey? And be able to repay the loyalty with results on the ice? If Holland would realize that it's more about his production vs. his cap hit, then maybe they would. It's his listless play and lack of leadership that is a growing cancer in the locker room. You've gotta think by now his teammates are starting to get tired of waiting for him to start playing like he can. He's simply too much of an enigma to sort out, and he's also not getting any younger as he'll turn 35 this year.... but don't get me wrong, I don't actually believe they'll buy him out though I can dream, can't I?
