yeah Holland seems to see players in a different light once they put on a Wings sweater, and lately it's really starting to hurt the club- bringing back Sammy, Quincey aren't looking like wise moves so far, esp. Quincey and as far as making a big trade to acquire a stud d-man, well, you gotta give something good to get something good and if Holland is unwilling to part with any quality players/picks/prospects to get one, then we're gonna be stuck with what we have -

hope the Wings can start off with a bang, will be tough in St. Louis though Mule should be more effective, being on the 2nd line means he won't have to deal with the other team's top d-pairing excited to see what Brunner and Smith can bring to the table Wings win in shoot-out, 4-3 Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Sammy, and Quincey -

I remember hearing about this at some point, but I was told it was Vladdy yelling at him to get back out there lest he give Russians a bad name; could have been a different year I guess cool story, though God I miss hockey & the Wings -
Definitely should go back to white jerseys at home, that's how it was when I first started watching in the '90s it still bothers me that they switched after the last lockout plus I think the red sweaters are more intimidating on the road I wonder if the players have a preference?

I'm a bit biased since Fedorov is my all-time fave, but imho in his prime he was always the best overall player on the ice; if Pavel had played in the early-mid '90s he may have had similar numbers, but there's no way he matches up to Fed's speed and skating ability, though Pavel is probably a better stick-handler and has a stronger work ethic

well here we are again I hope the NHLPA gets the idea out of their heads that they'll actually 'win' the lockout, the owners will get pretty much what they want in the end, that's what happened last time and it will happen again all the players are really doing is prolonging the inevitable and wasting possibly a whole year of their careers in the process it's a sad situation, but the rich will always lose out to the even richer

yeah even with Covo on board it's looking like a middle of the pack D, but like wings_fanatic posted earlier having Renney could make a difference and with some luck and if they don't get too banged up they have the potential to finish 10th to 15th of course, all of this is moot until training camp/the season actually starts....
