    Wow..

man are they crying alot. I will give them a couple of their points, but you would think the Wings were literally raping them on the ice. I find any argument for this type of stuff laughable if they are not willing to talk about calls/no calls in their favor like the Crosby hit to Z's head and the many such hits (see Abbys goal in game 1 and the shot / attempted shot to the face he took after the goal). The pens are getting away with a ton of that crap, the fight at the end of game 2 came after yet another cheap shot, Crosby cheap tweak on Malts after game 1, that is one of the things they are getting away with so if they want the refs to start calling every little thing, they just might wind up regretting it. Also watching a frame by frame of Z in the crease in game 2, he never touches the puck with his hands or controls/covers it, he falls in the crease, pulls his body forward, the puck comes in fromt he second shot and hits him in the stomach and bounces slightly out, never comes close to being touch with the hands or handled in any fashion, whether it's legal to lay in the crease like that or not I am not sure, but he did not handle that puck in anyway. Anyways the refs are either going to let these smaller things go or whistle them for both teams, as long as it's even for both I am all for it. I think so far they have balanced things out pretty well.

    Olczyk - biased analyst

maybe the ratings last year showed the pens coach got alot of viewers, so they needed someone parroting his talk from last year?

    Olczyk - biased analyst

-=Heh=- All analysts and news nowadays is impartial in one way or another on almost every topic from religion to politics, it is almost impossible to get a strait unbiased presentation on any topic anymore.
  4. backward? Are you guys gonna be this pissy when the Wings win the cup too? Or are you just that immature not to know the difference and show some class?

Zetterberg covering the puck on Ozzie's back...

Ya stole the point I was going to make about Malkin, good call. If this is a penalty then I hate to say it but the NHL needs to add a rule. I think it would be very dangerous to a goalie to have opposing teams swatting at pucks on their back, it would be insane. Either play needs to be stopped if this occurs or you have to allow other players to do what Z did. I do not think Goalies have protection there and you would be looking at free shots. It will not happen very often, but it could be devestating to a goalie if the situation is not cleared up.
  6. Thank you, I tried a couple posts up but of course it was not possible. Mods, please delete all Limbaugh / Political posts...
  7. You obviously never listen to Limbaugh. The main controversy with Republicans which he is not a member of is with Colin Powell, who has stated he voted for Carter, Clinton, backed Obama and voted for Obama... sorry but that is no different than if Clinton had voted for W backed all his policies and then asking Clinton to be the spokeman for the Democratic party. If the people in this country wants the Government to own business, display a weak posture abroad and take our standard of living down to suit environmental speculation then I am all for it, but I am not angry and dead set against anyone with an opposing view, tough fights and stances = balance which is the key, blind following and a single party or 2 parties with the same mindset is Nazi Germany.
  8. I would take Rush any day over the Cocaine Snorting pompous racist socialist idiot that is currently leading this country into oblivion. Rest of this type of speak goes to the water cooler which I no longer talk in, Today of all about a big Wings win in Game 1. Regardless of politics.... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WIIIIIIIIIIIIINGGGGGGGSSSSSSSSSSS!
  9. No, did not know that, my mom emailed it to me, so I shared it here. Great Job, and it looks like it is really getting around!

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

Union leaders are not like CEO's. CEO's are supposed to do what is best for the company which is not always possible with impossible unions to deal with, they try to make as much as they can squeeze from the company no differently than a union worker does, Union Leaders on the other hand try to do things which help them and their political allies while the workers get brainwashed and screwed at the same time.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

I feel for you and the rotten feeling you will have in your gut when you have to watch Hossa while he skates around the igloo with the cup... hopefull in game 4.... but that compassion will die off quickly as the classless attendees at the igloo will boo the presentation of the the Stanely Cup. At least this year we will only have to put up with Cosby's Whinning and Crying, and not that pathetic excuse of a coach you had last year.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

I never said they were going to, what I said was he is the only guy making significant money w/o a no trade clause and as a assist guy he a great, shooting/scoring is another story but as long as we can keep a Franzen, Hossa type scorer with him I would not want to see him go so I would not get my panties in a bunch of I were you. Clearly some players will be leaving, who they are is up in the air. My main points are that some will be going regardless of what the Wings do with Hossa and given that and the coming freeing of space I see no reason why an all out effort to resign the guy would not be priority.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

I agree I would hate to see them go, but there is only so much we can pay them as well and if you listen to the announcers, there are teams looking at these 2 in particular. In the case of Huds it will be harder for a team to pick him away, but some team may very well offer him more than the Wings would realistically be able to match. I think Sammy gets an offer the Wings will not be able to match and I see him as most likely to move on, sure there could be a suprise and w/o Hossa obviously there would be an off chance they could keep both, but I think it is highly unlikely. Again we will have a great team no matter what happens during the off season then the following season we should have some money to fill gaps, knowing this I just cannot see how you let Hossa walk if he is willing to accept a Mule size contract, Z or Lids numbers the Wings cannot do, so at a Mule like rate he is a no brainer even if he just leads the team in scoring getting us to the Playoffs and Mule takes it from there. It will be an intersting off season this year for sure, almost as fun as watching the team play...

I don't see them trading either. If anyone would be going it would probably be Flip which would free up 3.1 but he has been playing well as of the playoffs so I doubt that will happen. Again I do not see why anyone would have to go that will not probably go anyways. I think we field a good team next year no matter what happens, but with the timing of some players likely retiring next year or taking much smaller contracts I think you weather the storm next year with a still very competitive team and then fill gaps with the free'd up salary in 2011.

Duhatschek: Wings will successfully re-sign Hossa

I think to many assumptions are going on here, Holland is not a stupid man. Everyone just assumes keeping Sammy, Leino, Hudler etc is even an option. If you listened to the announcers in the playoffs scouts were actively scouting Helm, Sammy will most certainly get a nice offer from somewhere else and IMO Hudler will probably get an offer that just will not make sense for the Wings to match. We are a season away from possibly dumping alot of cap space with Lids, Draper, Maltby and Homer possibly retiring and No. 5 heading to the rafters, at the very least I believe if Lids plays he will not demand nearly the same salary and it would not suprise me to see Z wearing the C sometime over the next 2 seasons. Given these uncertainties with some of our depth UFA's and RFA's, it may make sense and does make sense to me to try and sign Hossa to a long term deal simular to the Mules and try your best for 1 season (It's not like with Hossa, Raf, Stuart, Big E, Lids, Z, Dats, Mule, Cleary, Kornner, Draper, Malts, Homer, Flip etc we would have a bad team, we would still have a top noth contending team with a definate shot at the cup) in order to have a solid team when the above mentioned retirements happen which will free up some money to fill in any gaps that may appear. Some people will have to go, this has been made clear and guys like Sammy and Huds deserve their payday which we just may not be able to provide. I am perfectly fine with signing Hoss long term, next year we may loose a little depth sure, but it's not like we would not have a ligitimate shot at the cup and the year after barring a major drop in the cap we would be in great shape to fill gaps or tie down some depth guys. Although I hate seeing some of our depth guys go, I feel it is inevitable and given that I am all for signing Hoss at this time with the team we could put on ice next year and the cap space freeing up the season after... future looks great either way, but I think it looks a little better with #81 around and a group of hungry youngsters...

    Stanley Cup Finals Discussion Thread

Everyone keeps talking about Malkin, sure he is actually doing something this year but I do not think he is doing enough to make up for the loss of Hossa. I would disagree that Z is playing worse, he is has been extremely solid 2 ways again, for that matter so has Dats and other guys have stepped up to provide scoring. I just do not see that big of a difference between the 2 teams from last year and I am fine with betting on Dats waking up for this round if healthy. I already stated in my post that health will be an issue. Even if Z and Dats do not score much but play a stiffiling 2 way game, we have others Hossa,Mule,Cleary,Sammy,Huds etc that can step in and score goals, just do not see why so many are so worried, could the Wings loose? Of course according to quantum science if a person tries to walk through a wall enough times they will eventually succeed, same things applies to the Pens winning this, possible but not likely.

    Stanley Cup Finals Discussion Thread

Not overly worried about the Pens. The Pens were high flying and looked unstoppable last year as well but now they are down 1 Hossa and We are up 1 Hossa. Certainly I would say Malkin has stepped up his game, Crosby is about the same, If healthy Lids can effectively remove one of them. We now have Big E and Helm has stepped up to another level, Flip and Huds are also a notch above last year and Clearly is a full notch up. I think E can handle Malkin if he is on his game although this will have to be proven obviously. Sammy is Sammy and seems to play the same game every time. The Mule is who he is come playoffs. Watch out of Dats wakes up for this series and is Healthy. Health will be a factor and certainly make things easier if this couple days is enough to get healthy. I think the Pens come out hot and heavy like the Hawks did but get worn down by 3rd Period and more as the series drags. If Wings are healthy Wings maybe in a Sweep (if they show to play all 60 minutes each game)5 at most, partly healthy Wings in 6 again. Loose another key forward or D man it's a toss up. Pens are still alot like the Hawks. I think it will be a good series to watch but I do not feel all the stress that other posters have stated. Gooooo Wings!!
