You probably are, you'll here a lot of grumbling if Neil end up in San Jose.
-
If he doesn't there's going to be a lot of I told you soooooooooo!
-
What ever it would be it would have to be a trade to clear cap space not just draft picks.
-
Travis Moen please.
-
Mark Recchi to the Bruins. Neil talks with Ottawa have broken down. Travis Moen of Ducks available I'll take him I love they way he gave it to that goon Steve Ott the on the weekend, plus he can grind.
-
Cleary you can always count on , but in the playoffs you need that game in game out to where down your opponent. Look at the size of a guy like Franzen he should be throwing his weight around frequently but he doesn't and he's not the only one. Datsyuk your right he does, but I don't want him doing that when I have guys bigger in stature who should be doing that on a regular basis.
-
I don't know if your the only one , but come on Neil is what we need there are no Drake types on this team . You watch the game last night how many good bodychecks did you see thrown by our forwards, I can't even count onewere seriously miising toughness up front.
-
I felt that way earlier in the year but they have picked up their game. Jokkinen respects Keenan and Leopold knows their system, and Bertuzzi has found a home there. It would be dangerous to underestimate them in a series their a physical team. Could we play a physical series with them night in and night out at this point ?
-
That's not plausible since Ottawa got Pascal Leclaire from Blue Jackets for Antoine Vermette. Its got to be a deal where where cap space is cleared - contract for contract. Sammy maybe? Man I want Neil!
-
Its confirmed now Lombardi going to Coyotes. Plus they picked up Leopold from Avs. I think Holland got feel some pressure with these Calgary moves.
-
Holland on TSN said that moves are unlikely because were up against the cap. But when asked if he were to to make a move he commented that a gritty type player like what a Dallas Drake was would be inorder. He also said he would consider tha same type player on the D. But the bottom line things were being sought internally Holland commented.
-
You find that entertaining that one of our guy got done in.
-
Exactly, who were gonna call Franzen ?
-
Should love him all that more, he's had to moonlight as a substitute enforcer for us when Downey's not around. This teams got to get lot meaner in my books, bringing up Downey is not enough ; we need an exstra doses of meaness in the line-up every night. We don't have any Shannahan's in the line-up anymore or Drakes just a lot of Franzens. Are you listening Holland get Chris Neil !
-
The wonders of Ken Holland.
-
I know the wonders of Ken Holland.
-
JAN 9 2009 Chris Neil vs Shawn Thornton, the type of players with heart and guts that this team is lacking.
-
You may be right about Downey only because he's not a very effective enforcer presence to start out , he ranks low on the totem pole toe to toe we any of the top fighters in the league. He also lacks hockey skills that make him a liability out there, and he not that good at throwing his weight around preiod. But you underestimate the impact of enforcer types that are multi dimensional players. Just look at Shawn Thornton I would take him in our team over someone like Franzen any day. Role players like that who can also put the puck in the net and go to the wall for your team are what the Wings are sorley lacking. We have an over abundance of finesse at the exspense of grit not a my ideal of what a team should be. Anyways that's what are team is now.

Your so right on about this sucessful moron, the worst thing the Cbc ever spawned. Ya couldn't win with Orr,Park and Company what a first rate loser in hockey terms. But he has entertainment value and part of his limited repetoire has always been to spew venom on the Wings for years whether we have the Cup or not. At least he has no Cup ring to flash with his dumb logo suits. The only thing is ,the skillful Habs you mention could also match you with toughness that was always the key to their sucess ; you couldn't intimidate them physically. Our team lacks this vital attribute and it might become a factor in the Playoffs. Holland diminished the rugged grinder role too much in our team. Look at Sean Thornton check the battle between him and Chris Neil you tube Jan 8 2009 imagine these guys in our team. Holland better come up big before the deadline because standing pat is not an option!

We were blown to little smithereens out there tonight . I remember a simular drubbing we had earlier in the year against the Canadians I think it was 6 to 1 we played awful it was embarassing. In and of themselves are these type of games indicators of something predominantly wrong with a team, I don't think so. One thing that I have touched on before which keeps coming back to me is that this year we've played a lot of catch-up hockey. The team has had to rally back often with a lot goals to take the game. And to me that unravels the prototype Detroit stategic two way hockey that has so often frustrated opponents. Our goaltending has obviously has not been consistent all year and I don't care who you like ; I don't like the way Holland values goaltending for the longest time. But its kinda late in the game to do anything barring some miraculous three way trade with either the Rangers or Florida-- ahh that's not going to happen right! Something's going to happen, maybe Avs Jordan Leopold steady stay home D, we could use that for the Playoffs. Hey Chris Neil he could add some muscle we could use that and he would savour a Cup . Were so loaded with talent veteran and youth we should make it work for us if we want to keep the Cup , and if that means making some trades why not. I know I know some of you are going to tell me that's how the organization works, loyalty loyalty. I believe in that too, but my first allegience is to the Winged Wheel not the individual player. I said it before to me there's only a few that are truly untouchable. That said, blah blah blah this game is a footnote to nothing ,did it reveal more about are goaltending or just crystalized the season's trend in one game in the worst kind of way, probably. But it is what it is, and when Conklin stopped 34 againt the Sharks let's face it he was making his case for the playoffs I don't think that has changed. Anyways next game is going to be a good hard battle with the Blues. Now I have to go back to my chanting. Boumeester Boumeesteer Boumeester Boumeesteer come Boumeester Boumeesteer Boumeester Boumeester come We All Chant.................................................

He's a blowhard jingoistic moron that found a niche ; he's our Rush Limbaugh of Canadian hockey. What I detest in him aside from his myopic perspectives on what hockey always has to be is his utter contempt for the Red Wings that he's always been at the ready to put on display, like his ******* revolting suits that are his trademark. His contempt for the Red Wings borders on hatred and he so openly flaunts it. Its because of advice like Cherry's and his ilk that Eric Lindross had such a failed carreer in the the N HL. Your big legacy Don Cherry is when you'll be in the old hockey retirement home most of the Kids in Canada will be playing soccer of all stripes ; be careful now don't choke on the grapes.
-
Wake up my dear boy we've always had Kippersoff's number and we always will.
-
If that's the case I'd rather have Neil who can put the puck in the net once and awhile , of course that's if he has a clean bill of health.
-
If anything with Colorado it will be about a defensman , maybe Jordan Leopold a steady stay at home type we could use ; and he's having an injury free year for a change and he doesn't have a heavy salary to boot.
-
I do agree with you in part I would never get rid of Kessel he's a game breaker type player. I do believe they stiil could use another defenesman ; but not Pronger those young prospects you mentioned are to valuable. Boston giving up Wheeler would be like us giving up Leino in a deal for a top notch defenseman which I woudn't do.
