I thought we were talking playoffs, not regular season. (and I watched as much playoff hockey as anyone over the years). The numbers don't lie, so I guess we'll just have to disagree. You say Ozzie has been good or great in every playoff season he's had, I say he's been average at best in several of those years. I guess you dont have the same image of Deadmarsch burying that juicy rebound in OT to eliminate the Wings in the 01 playoffs as I do. You say he was the best player in the playoffs for the wings that year.........I disagree and the facts don't support you..........wings management must not agree with you either as I hardly think he would have been released if that were the case.

I've had the hockey package on direct tv for years........ watched tons of games when Ozzie wasn't a wing, although a lot more when he was with the blues.

To say that something "always" happens, that means every time. Ozzie has not "always" stepped up for the playoffs.....at times he has been average at best...........so your assertion that he "always has" is factually flawed. ONCE AGAIN, YOU'RE WRONG.....GO HAVE ANOTHER DRINK.

I've been nothing but objective. I don't like to bash players of the team I support, but since Ozzie wasnt a wing at the time, I dont feel as bad about it.

Everything in the way of facts I've quoted are FOR THE PLAYOFFS..........are you drunk or something? Babs stuck with Ozzie because he was the best option (and one I agreed with)........just as when he was released in 2001, they thought Ozzie was not the best option. I use facts, you use the emotion of your opinions. You lose.

Agreed, but when Ozzie wasnt a wing, he was the enemy.

All I was doing was presenting facts that support the argument that Ozzie always stepping up in the playoffs was not a "given"

I'd say you're the clueless one here.......from Ozzie's last season before the Hasek deal through the years with the Isles and the Blues (4 total playoff seasons), anyone who think's Ozzie was anything more than average has to be on mind altering drugs. What can be "drastically wrong with facts"? Maybe it's your interpretation thereof thats a "croc of s***"

My bad, you got me on that one.

You've got to admit, picking the worst playoff season of Ozzie's career, statistically, to support a point is fairly moronic.

I'm well aware of how goaltenders have been handled over the years in Detroit, and as I stated earlier, I was wrong about my opinions about Ozzie this playoff season. But for all of you guys who "knew" that Ozzie would step up in the playoffs because he always does, well then, I call bulls***, because the facts don't support your point. If Holland thought that Ozzie was the answer in 2001, he never would have been traded. If my memory was correct, they paid Hasek $8 million or so that year..........and they could have kept Ozzie for less than half that. If you want to see "fail", just look in the mirror.

More baseless claims......I had no posts about Ozzie's potential playoff run until around the middle of April. Perhaps you need a reality check.

The only pattern I've noticed is that you're a bit overmatched here.

Yea, that .890 save percentage and 2.5+ goals against average in the playoffs was certainly stellar. I've got to admit, you certainly know your s***.

I've read your words over and over, and they clearly support my point. And no need to give me any lessons in Latin as I'm quite sure I've had a bit more education in the language than you have. Now, if you're finished with it, you might want to return Shoreline's dictionary. I have a feeling he'll be needing it again.

Perhaps even more interesting than you combing through your dictionary to find a few words that you think might inflate your intelligence is the fact that Ozzie hasn't always "stepped up in the playoffs". In case you have a short memory, perhaps you remember him getting shipped off to the Isles after the debacle vs. the Kings in 00 - 01. In fact, that playoffs (yea, before you bring it up, Im aware of the injuries) and the following 3 seasons away from Detroit, I'd hardly say that Ozzie "stepped up" in the playoffs. But hey, I guess that's all part of that "short term memory" thing you mentioned earlier. I'll stay clear of the genitalia comparisons........I doubt anyone on here is as big a ****** as you are.

Or, better yet pulling out selected quotes from a lengthy conversation to selectively support an argument. Isn't that what politicians do?

Ah....now I get it......what you literally wrote wasn't how you intended me to interpret. How clever of you. And yes, I wholeheartedly agree.......stay in school......a mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Englsih lession 101: You, and many others, were nasty, snide, condescending, and rude to anyone who didn't agree that it WOULD, 100%, be Osgood who would not only cost the Wings the Cup, but who would be SO BAD, that the Wings would be lucky not to be bounced out in the First Round. Subject: You Verb: were Adjectives: nasty, snide, condescending, rude Proposition: to Object of proposition: anyone........that the Wings would be lucky not to be bounced out in the First Round Looks like you falsely accused me. As far as being an ******* and a condescending prick, you'd certainly be more of an expert on that that I ever will be. I just said I was wrong about Ozzie. His "swith on" play in the playoffs was as great a turnaround from what he was putting out there as the end of the regular season as any I've seen. As for your vast knowledge of Ozzie's tendencies, I don't think it requires any great intellect to be a blanket defender of a player you obviously think can do no wrong. Just as I said then and will say now........any polling of people not associated with the Redwings (and a great deal of Wings fans), would have supported the position I took over years. And by the way.......I've been a Redwings fan probably about as long as you've been alive (not since they "got good" in the 90's), so don't break your arm patting yourself on the back about being right about Ozzie playing well in the playoffs. If you throw enough s*** against a wall, some of it is bound to stick. No, go ahead and put me back on "Ignore". I'll try to suffer through the agony.
