Really? So, even you have stooped to lying now? I've never bashed Ozzie. All my statements before the start of the playoffs were about the three facets of the game.......offense, defense & goaltending.......and that IF, and a strong emphasis on the word IF, the wings had a weak link, it was goaltending. At the time the statistics clearly indicated this to be true. Now, I'll be the first to admit that this couldn't have turned out to be further from the truth (Ozzie was clearly the most consistently sold part of the team in the playoffs), but in no way was this "Ozzie bashing". Like I said, and you failed to acknowledge as even being partially true, when the playoffs started, Ozzie, and the goaltending in general, would be the segment of a clearly superior team that potentially could cause the playoff run the most issues. I think at the time a strong majority of wings fans, and many on this forum, would agree. I'll stand by those statements as being completely valid AT THE TIME.

It's gonna be really funny if Holland re-signs Hossa......I know it's highly unlikely, but in the event he does you and the rest of the clan will have to either support Hossa, or find a new team. I had another question for you.....do you ride one of those little sort and stubby yellow buses to school? The way you're failing to follow the simple logic I've laid out here leads me to think you might be "special". Your statements above have absolutely nothing to do with the 2009 playoffs..........I'm saying that the bashing that Hossa has taken during this time is proportionately much more than the blame he deserves for the series loss. This is unquestionably true. This debate is way too easy. I'll go make another drink so you can have a little more time to dry your eyes. If I've made you too upset, I'll quit.
-
You keep mentioning things from the past or things that involve players who aren't even on the roster anymore. All I've said is that no one......now listen carefully to this part.......during the current playoff season.......has been getting the bashing that Hossa has. Obviously you feel differently, but since you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer, I have to seriously discount your opinion. You're a funny kid. I bet you're into Pokeman or some s*** like that....right?
-
dips***tery (noun): being a dips***; a quality native to inhabitants of the state of Ohio who also happen to support the Detroit Red Wings. You made my point. My assertion was that no other players were being bashed because of poor playoff performance to the extent Hossa is and has been. Numbnuts, Ive been here all playoff season.

Ok....word of the week is comprehend....lmaoo........no need to search, because there are none with any current posts, but I'm glad that I at least I can elevate your mood. I'm sure you've already destroyed your comic book collection and stuck a few more pins in you little Hossa voodoo doll since the game ended, so even you could use a good chuckle tonite, right son? Digging a hole? In what fashion? If this were a sporting event you'd have already lost by the mercy rule.
-
Temper, Temper!!......F-bombs are an indication that you're approaching brain death. Oh yea.....where are these ACTIVE threads again??
-
I guess I havent had the opportunity to be on other threads where you were bashing other members of the team. I didnt know you were an equal opportunity basher. Next time your dad takes you to the mall and the wings are signing autographs, go up to 'em and repeat some of your remarks. Naaa.....not you......dont have the stones for it, do ya SON?
-
Come on Son.........that Jake kid started a thread bashing Holmstrom yesterday and it mysteriously disappeared today. You know Hossa is the only whippin boy for this crowd.
-
lmao.....dont get angry.....youre having enough trouble keeping up as it is. Perhaps I should pour another drink and fight with half my brain tied behind my back to even the playing field. At least by the remark above you're admitting that this loss wasnt all Hossa's fault. Looks like the therapy is working.
-
Oh, this isn't unexpected at all. Haven't seen any other threads bashing any other wings players that have had nearly the legs this one has. If you're gonna place blame (and once again, I dont do that), I'm not gonna say he doesn't deserve his fair share............just not the bulk of it like the Hossa lynch mob does.
-
Just stay close kid.......maybe you'll absorb some of this through the monitor of your little Compaq computer. By the way, just heard the hockey guys on ESPN radio say that if they had to pinpoint one reason that the Pens beat the Wings in this series was because the Pens defense clearly outplayed the Wings D. Damn, no mention of Hossa. Oh well, its ESPN so what do you expect?
-
Aw, get over it son. If you weren't on this thread you'd be of pulling your pud somewhere. When you reach puberty, you'll understand that a little back and forth banter can actually be intellectually stimulating.
-
Seem's like you're the one who's bitching and whining. Reading comprehension? Please, I'd match wits with you any day you mental midget.
-
I don't play the blame game......I think it's cowardly. But you'd think that somebody would have stepped up and scored a goal or two in the last two games. To my recollection, Hossa's isn't the only player on this team who's paid to score goals.
-
Who mentioned Stuart, Sammy or Lebda (but since you think that those guys our our "studs", that pretty much confirms the fact that you talk out of your ass)? Lmao.....how funny would it be if Holland decides to keep Hossa? You're liable to blow a gasket.
-
Yea sonny boy, you're right.......Hossa didn't step up. But Ive got a newsflash for ya......we had a 3-2 lead after a dominant game 5, and when the s*** was on the line in games 6 & 7, I'm having a hard time finding any of our "studs" who took the bull by the horns and willed their way to any major offensive outburst. Sure you guys continue to bash Hossa, and that's your right. I've never said he hasn't underachieved, but once your hard on for Hossa goes away and you look at things objectively, you'll realize that there's enough blame to share with a few others on this team. You win as a team, just as you lose as one. s***, the Pens beat us tonite without the puss. Right SON???
-
Stats are just what they are, numbers. Somebody just commented about how Hossa gives away the puck too much.......I just mentioned that he takes it away more than he gives it up.
-
Really??.....wow, I guess that the stat that he led the team in takeways and was one of the few on the team who had a positive takeaway to givaway ratio meant nothing. Ahh, but I know, I know.......lets not get the facts get in the way of a good discussion.
-
He did about as much as the rest of our superstars who managed to stay off the score sheet tonite, but for some strange (but consistent) reason, he always managed to get himself singled out for the blame......or have I missed something here?
-
They have to blame Hossa (I think he might have kicked one of their dogs or something) because he's the convenient scapegoat. It's common knowledge that he caused Stuart to turn the puck over tonite, he caused Kronwall to hit the crossbar instead of burying that shot, and had the gall to make Lidstrom miss the net with 6 seconds left. Same with the turnovers in game 6...yep, all Hossa's fault. What are you, blind or something?
-
I'd have no problem with that. I have the utmost faith in Holland doing whatever it takes to make this team the best it can be. I wonder if we were to sign Bouwmeester and if he were to have a Hossa type playoffs next spring, would the forum lynch mob butcher his ass the way they have crucified Hossa over the past few weeks. I think the answer to that one is obvious. This is one tough crowd.
-
lmao.....some people are gonna ride Hossa's ass till the bitter end. I guess since all the bad things that happened during the playoffs were his fault, I guess I finally have to concede that the Wing's would have definitely won the cup if they had never signed him. Damn, how could I have been so stupid. Thank you guys for the enlightenment.
-
Turnovers........turnovers..........turnovers.......cost the wings this game, and basically were the downfall the whole series. That statistic, along with the horrible penalty kill all season, were about as un-Redwing-like as anything I've seen in years. Maybe there is something to that "it's harder to repeat" theory that I originally thought. Just a few random thoughts while I drown my sorrows in another grey goose and cranberry juice. And, I can't wait to hear the true injury report in the next few days..........I have a feeling it will be much more extrensive than anyone imagined.
-
Something else...........if my memory serves me correctly, the Wings were -155/-160 to win the series, and now they are as high as -220 to win this game. Looks like vegas is expecting Cindy and the girls to take a serious ass whoppin' tonite.

Interesting article on ESPN: Game 7 equals … • Cinnamon French toast and a side of home fries. Served by Megan Fox. In a Winnipeg Jets sweater. • Ne-Yo opening for Animal Collective opening for MGMT opening for Ben Folds opening for Prince opening for Blink 182 opening for Green Day opening for U2 opening for Bruce Springsteen opening for Tool opening for whatever the "Hockey Night in Canada" opening montage is for Friday's Game 7. And, remember, Game 7 is not on a school night. Rejoice, Sparky. • The selfless soul of hockey, best defined by Bobby Orr's soul. If deity is selfless, thoughtful, humble and sensitive toward others, then we should be, too. • The smell of a new pair of skates. • The mayhem in the movie "The Hangover." Mario Lemieux will be more nervous than any game he ever played in. Everyone associated with the game -- you, me, scouts, players, coaches and administrators -- will hate the tension but love how the game, this game, makes them feel so alive. Hockey is a great vaccination for boredom. Life is hard and cruel. Leaving childhood, leaving adolescence, entering middle age and moving slowly into the autumn of our years is all taxing and sad -- not to mention dealing with the tragedies that happen along the way that chip away at our spirit. All we can do is keep moving, keep skating and keep living the best we can, selflessly and passionately, until the final buzzer sounds. Just like the players in Friday's Game 7. Game 7 is here.
