Ah, nothing like a little condescending overstatement of the obvious.
-
I think what's obvious here is your anti-Swede bias, making you more concerned with country of origin, than anyone who has defended Hossa (isn't that the subject of this thread?). For anyone who claims to be a wings fan to take potshots at Lidstrom is unreal. It's widely acknowledged (by the whole hockey world...not just wings fans) of his place in the annals of hockey lore, so I'll not stoop to even having to defend him. You should be ashamed to call youself a Wings fan.

Were you the victim of beating by a Swedish bully as a child?
-
My mind fails me....is Hossastrom a Swede?
-
Surely you're not insinuating that it was a mistake to sign Hossa back in July, are you? All things considered (regular season and playoffs to this point), I'd think you'd be in a very small minority of Wings fans if you did, right?
-
I can see how you'd say that (by the way, didn't Hossa have more points than that in last year's playoffs alone?) But that's not the point here. Sure, Hossa is struggling on the offensive end.....can't dispute that. Haven't we forgiven Dats for more than one poor playoff season? And that's not a knock on Dats....absolutely love the guy. Facts are, Hossa is a physical beast, he took a serious pay discount to play here, from what I understand he is a great guy in the clubhouse, and, more importantly, the playoffs aren't over yet. Who knows what he'll do before it's all over. But, in my opinion, the guy's given enough to this team to deserve more respect that you're giving him.
-
Really? Is that why he's missed at least 20% of the regular season in 4 or his 8 career seasons? Or, I guess it could be that massive 22 points he's scored in 29 career playoff games. Ahhh, now I get your point. What a lame argument.

Yea, I'd love to have 7 million in that picture of health. WRONG!!
-
Would you trade Hoss for any of these guys? (I wouldn't!!).....By the way, the thing they all have in common is that their 2008-2009 salaries were all at least $7 million. Lubomir Visnovsky Brad Richards Marian Gaborik Scott Gomez Wade Redden Michal Rozsival Jason Spezza Kimmo Timonen Mats Sundin

I wonder if the Hawks are as happy spending $7 million on Campbell as some of you are with the Wings spending similar on Hoss. Sometimes, it's better to look at the whole as opposed to the individual parts. The Wings are the dominate team left (3 to 5 to win the cup!!), are up 2 games to 0 in the conference finals......everything is on track, right? Why all the picking/bitching/whining/complaining (did I omit any)? I wonder if some of you people even ENJOY hockey. Relax, have a drink, and appreciate what's going on. Soon enough all you're gonna have is baseball. GO WINGS!!

WCF GAME 2 GDT: Blackhawks 2 at Red Wings 3 (OT)

Maybe they should bench him. After all, isn't that what we need to do with Dats & Hoss? -

All you whiners can stop your bitching and you can go to bed. -
Just a thought.....Perhaps any media bias against the Redwings stems from the fact that most of the media covering the NHL is Canadian/North American and the Redwings are the least Canadian/North American team in the league. Maybe the Don Cherry bigotry is more prevalent that anyone believes but it isn't visably apparent because he's the voice of the media vocalizing anti-Euro opinions while the majority of rest of the media, while having the same anti-Euro biases, are too cowardly to do so. I mean, while we're throwing out conspiracy theories...................................

As I remember, Cujo was more than "just OK" in his two playoff runs with the Wings. Didn't he have something like just over 2.00 goals against and over 91% save % when we ran into a hot Giggy with Anaheim in 02/03 and an even better 1.40 goals against and just slightly under 94% save % when we encountered an even hotter Kipper for the Flames in the 03/04 playoffs? I think if we had Babcock instead of everybody's buddy Dave Lewis for those two playoff runs, we might have had better luck. As for Osgood, he has certainly held up his end of the deal but he has been no better than the offense and defense in front of him. I just wanted to see what Sunday's game looked like in fast motion, and in doing so it looked like way way more of the action occurred in the Blackhawks defensive zone than vice versa. I said before the playoffs that as long as Ozzie was good.....not great.....that the Wings would be just fine. So far, so good.

I guess winning isn't enough. Some of you kids might think about waiting either Hossa or Datsyuk actually cost the Wings a game instead of posting this crap after a dominant 5-2 win. It all fits together. The Wings did shut down the Kane line....ever think that some of these guys lack of offense might be due to the fact that defense takes a little work too? As for the Ducks, as I've said before, they probably are the worst matchup in the league for the Wings. We're gonna walk through Chicago to the SCF (even in spite of the "slackers" Datsyuk and Hossa). GO WINGS!!

GDT 2009 WCSF GAME 7: Ducks 3 at Red Wings 4
soonboomer replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in Hall of Fame
How about the psychological condition of the Wings? I say there was more pressure in this series than anything else down the road. Alot of the integral parts of this Wings team had never enjoyed playoff success against the Ducks. It is the worst of matchups for the Wings because the best part of the Ducks game is the weakest part of the Wings team. Our stud players, in general, underperformed, AND WE STILL WON. Teams that want to skate with the wings can't get there. That's why, from this point on, just watch what Zetterburg and Datsyuk do. We walk through Chicago and, hopefully, get the chance to rematch Sindy and the Whiners and put another asswhippin' on the Pens that they'll never forget. CHEERS!!- 1,913 replies

In las Vegas, the Redwings are -250, which is the heaviest favorite of any team over another one in the playoffs so far this season (for you gambling newbs, that means you have to put up $250 to win $100 if you like the Wings). I hope they know what they are talking about. Seems to me they are wanting all the public money on the Ducks that they can get. GO WINGS!!!- 1,913 replies
