I'm in a tight one here boys...(and ladies who are viewing) My buddy used to work for the Devils (got laid off) but is still using his contacts to help get me tickets. Problem being, they are devils employee tickets so it's considered bad form to be as belligerently dressed in wings gear as I plan to be. I'm with you Jersey Wing, I will probably rock a Blue Chiefs #17 Hanson jersey. I do not know my seats for tomorrow, but Sunday I am in 316 at the garden. I will inevitably be pregaming at an establishment close to the arena before each games. Look forward to seeing a big turnout from LGW'ers as well as Hockeytown Nation!

I too will be in attendance at both NYC area games on Saturday/Sunday. Their new arena (the prudential center) is a very cool place to watch a hockey game...as far as rocking a red wings jersey into the game, prepare to be harrassed a bit. Have a couple adult soda's before hand and everything will work out fine!

I couldn't agree more with the general gist of this thread. I have sat around since Friday night, not only still adjusting to life without a beard, but also realizing how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful team. We would love for them to win it all every year, but if they did that then the sport wouldn't be held in such a high regard. I am still coping with the attachment issues of not having my beard, has anyone started a support group for this yet anywhere on here? I trust Holland and the management to make the correct decision with Hossa. If it works, they will keep him. They managerial actions are the reason we have made the playoffs since 1990. No more 2008-09, onwards to 09-10! Let's Go Wings!

I had grown the playoff beard every year in college, then was forced to take a hiatus due to a regreful employment situation. Shaved approximately at 5:30 the evening before game one, and hopefully won't be doing it again until early June. LGW

in case anyone has interest...NHL gamecenter is allowing you to watch games for free today. Atdhe doesn't have a link up, but you'll be able to watch the game online from NHL.com's gamecenter. And this isn't like the other times where you tune in and it gives you 2 minutes then shuts off! let's go wings!

wings 5-4, we still can't figure out Nash but get enough offense to win. Although I must say, out of every team we could get in the first round, I sure hope it isn't Columbus. Nash combined with our old pal Williams have had a field day on us. In any event, I stock piled a few cases of cheap scotch in case this turns out to be a disaster, or if we do see them in the playoffs (for celebratory purposes or otherwise...). Winning this game will make me feel a lot better. Since NBC had considered this for the GOW but went with the Rangers for the 3rd week in a row, and there isn't an online stream listed that I can find...I will be forced to listen to this. Let's go Wings!

I don't think it really matters if a game is boring or not...as long as the Wings win. I get upset when I read posts from Red Wing fans who think we are going to lose. Granted we are the defending champs with an excellent chance of repeating...I always predict a Wings win. Positive Morale. Conklin is in net...he doesn't lose at home anyways... 4-1 Wings. Say Osgood was starting... 4-3 Wings. Let's go Wings!!!!!!!!!!

Clement's opinion of the Wings doesn't really matter. I liked him and Thorne as an announcing pair, but when it comes to his hockey opinion it won't change the outcome. I listened to the trade coverage at work all day, and what he had to say about it all....and he is entitled to his opinion. You can't make everyone happy with what you do right? In more important news, I like our chances as repeating. Ozzie still has a ton of wins. Winning matters, not how many goals you allow. Conklin can't be beat at home...In Babcock we trust. Hopefully Downey isn't too gassed from his phenomenal brawl last night in St. Louis and re-ignites the flame into this rivalry. Lapperiere perhaps? 4-1 Wings...because we are better, and I will never, ever predict a score that has them losing.

Ken and Mick are very good announcers...but, hands down my favorite two announcers to broadcast hockey games are Gary Thorne and Bill Clement. The enthusiasm, and sincerity they spoke with is unmatched. It's too bad that since ESPN has decided to revolt against anything hockey, that Thorne is now the Baltimore Orioles baseball announcer for the local affiliate in Baltimore. Dave Strader, Panger, Doc Emerick and John Buccigross also are very close behind. A couple great hockey minds without question. As for tonight, the Wings bounce back after a couple close games. Doesn't matter who is in net, 4-1 Wings.

I am strangely amazed at how this didn't cause Maple Leaf fans to go into a state of pandemonium. I know this is a throwback, but to have their arch-nemesis daunting a blue maple leaf on their sweater, even if they look like are inmate suits...could lead to a civil war!
