Hey, I know, there's widespread hatred, and some of it justifiable, like Stars fans for the Robidas punch. I'll try and repeat my point, and that is most people don't watch entire Predator games, and are pulling from what others say and a youtube sampling, thats all. I'm fully aware that 29 teams hate the living daylights out of him. Fine. I hate Alex Burrows like you hate Tootoo, especially because he scores goals. I loved watching Toots take it to him. You have to know that for every cheap shot you can find on YouTube there is one or two good old fashioned beatings he gave someone, and those for them cheap shotting one of our guys. So, my mission here was not to make you stop hating Jordin. Its to appreciate him for what he is--one tough SOB who doesn't back down and usually beats the crap out of opponents, but a guy who has a tendency to get overaggressive on occasion. I mean, you can tell he's rock solid from just absorbing those forearms/lefts like he did. We'd have hit the ground after the first one. So keep on hating. Maybe one of these days I'll get to see him beat up on Downey. If you watch two or three entire games, you'll see Tootoo hustling, checking hard, and using his rocket slapshot to set up rebound chances.

They got your lines wrong, and adding insult to injury your two top lines are better than lines 2 and 3 they have listed. Even taking off my homer glasses for a moment I would say that Steve Sullivan-Jason Arnott-JP Dumont are better as a unit than that Atlanta line. Obviously, Kovalchuck is a beast, but the SAD line when together for a season puts up big numbers in a sucky offense.

Please.... No one is trying to argue here that Jordin does not make cheap shots. I'm a Preds fan and a Tootoo fan, and I've seen it happen. But as one who watches just about every game, I can tell you that his late hits are few and far between. The ones that do happen get YouTubed and bitched about. Thats just how it works. You are obviously just YouTubing "Tootoo cheap shots" or what have you and posting them. Thats kind of an unfair assessment, as during games Tootoo doles out great body checks that are perfectly legal. Its humorous how most of you enjoyed him getting hurt. He's a somewhat skilled player who happens to be our toughest and most aggressive, which in turn makes him our most hated. Again, not saying he hasn't played dirty before, he has, and I don't commend it at all. My only points here were: 1. He was unequivocally, completely not running from Staubitz. I think thats been established. 2. He is incredibly tough just for standing there taking those shots, not falling down, and then skating away, and WANTING to go to the penalty box instead of the locker. Even Opie can admit that. I gained respect for him seeing him absorb those, actually. The speculation that Staubitz is throwing elbows is just that, speculation. I couldn't tell one way or the other. Either way, you know it hurt. Anyway, you guys who are hating on him are pulling from a very small sample size. If you watched our games, you'd know its different. I think I've said all that can be profitably said in this thread, by me anyway, so unless someone brings up something new I'm out.

You're losing what little sense you had fast. English must not be your first language because this whole concept isn't hard to get at all, in fact almost everyone else in the thread has gotten it. That cut kept Jordin out 2+ weeks. No tape---no play, at least not effectively at all. He was quoted as saying he could hardly grip a stick without the tape. People have been known to decline fights and/or turtle. Thus, if Staubitz had declined Jordin would've been stuck tapeless on a shift. You can call Tootoo a lot of things, some of them justifiable, but one thing he isn't is a Lemeiux, Avery type who starts one and then walks away. He obviously went at Staubitz first AND held his ground when Staubitz was throwing illegal elbows, which is another issue entirely. Staubitz may want an escort in Nashville next week because if Belak is back you can be sure Brad's face will get reconfigured. Damn it Opie, read. Tootoo can't play without the tape. If Staubitz had've declined the bout, he'd have been on a shift with no protection. This isn't hard. Most everyone is disagreeing with you. Generally that means you're wrong. Thanks for the clarification, Mac, but I read it to mean that Tootoo only wins fights after a cheap shot by him.

Great...now there's two of you. Three of Tootoo's 10 fights this year were retribution. Can you find me one where he hit someone after the whistle? The fact remains that you and Opie don't really want to realize is that while Tootoo has been known to make a few questionable hits, he's one of the best fighters in his class and RARELY backs down and often takes one for the team. I'm pretty sure most of you would love having him toughening up the Wings on your 3rd or 4th line.

Good grief...this might be the third or fourth time I've told you that the fight was TOOTOO's IDEA!! If Jordin challenged him, which he did, then that really rules out any chickening on either player's part. Its interesting you say that "his hands are up ready to fight", and adding to it you say "backpeddling" (whats "peddling"?) like a beast". I never really related beast to a chicken, but, maybe I missed something Oh, and I'm guessing by the sound of it Jordin showed you his cut? It required many stitches, I think, and I know for sure it was an extremely deep laceration. So, the trainer prefers him to play with tape.

On the fight, HockeyFights had the following to say: Yeah, Opie, I guess in your math first loss of the year=getting demolished 5x. The leading website on the subject is of the opinion that Toots hardly loses.

Just watched the initial stages of the video, and if you watched it, you'll notice that Staubitz was not "chasing him", in fact they were both getting into position and then Tootoo went at Staubitz first. Then Jordin got PWNED.

*sigh* Why is this a difficult concept? Did you not take Reading Comprehension? Tootoo CAN fight with his hands hurt. That wasn't an excuse. He took the tape off because fighting with it on incurs a penalty So if I'm looking at it through mustard glasses, what are you doing? Most everyone here hates Tootoo and wouldn't ever give him the benefit of the doubt. Again, the argument he was chicken doesn't fly, if only because the fight was Jordin's idea in the first place.

Don't think that would qualify as "chasing" down, they were both backing away from the play and teammates, etc., then they went at it after Staubitz gave him a second to pull off his tape. Duh Tootoo is going to take his tape off, he's a team player and would rather look like a "chicken" than put his team on the PK. Its kinda illogical to me if you say he was running away, earlier in the year he earned a decision over Staubitz in Nashville, after he fell down he got up again and piston punched him: Yeah, he can't fight at all. Like I said before, this was Tootoo's retribution, though it didn't end well, for Staubitz boarding him from behind earlier. If he doesn't take that off, he takes an extra penalty. Staubitz was at least honorable enough to back off and let him get it off. Pay attention. He's gotten beaten, sure, but most of the time its a draw or he's the victor. In fact, in November he beat up on Staubitz in Nashville. Watch some of his other fights. I've never seen Brashear get completely KO'd like that before. Ellis STOLE a point in this game. He completely and utterly robbed Ovechkin several times and had 42 saves.

Well, I see your point, and plus Rick Nash has played like a madman against you, but remember Rinne had almost fifty saves the first time we played you and then the second time he got the shutout.

Reading this, you'd think no one's watched Pekka Rinne lately. Examine this: Rinne: .921, 2.27, 22 wins in 38 games, 6 SO Mason: .918, 2.24, 26 wins in 46 games, 8 SO Seems...like a tight race. Rinne better save and win %

@GMRwings Thats true, but thats not to say its impossible. We probably match up the best with Detroit but like I said I'd like to play someone "new". And this is all with the assumption of course that we actually make it in

OK question...out of these three who would you least want to play in a 7 game series, NSH, CBJ, or EDM? Also, we're a little tired of playing Detroit and San Jose in the playoffs, I really hope we get the 6 seed or even if Vancouver collapses the 5. We'd give the Blackhawks hell.

Yeah, thanks for the honesty I wasn't even cheering during that fight I just watched it with my mouth open like WTF is Lilja doing, trying to get a tattoo of Weber's fist? I didn't really see the elbow on the YouTube clip, can someone point out the timestamp of that? At any rate, hopefully Lilja recovers quickly. One of our fan favorites, Scott Nichol, got concussed on 12/9 and is still out. I've been concussed before playing sports myself and it is not a pleasant experience at all.
