I see I picked a good time to show back up. Talk about outnumbered....feels like, well, a Detroit-Nashville game I realize that certain hardasses will never have their faulty opinions changed, which is fine, but I shall endeavor nonetheless. Those who are of the mind that hockey fans in the south don't cut the mustard, suck, or whatever the metaphor is are ignorant. Who's to say that because its 45 degrees here today we can't play hockey? And play it, no less, with as much heart as anyone else in the league? Do you want us to take football from Michigan because its a favorite sport of the South? This particular stereotype is laughable. Its like you want to keep hockey all to yourselves. In regards to our in game atmosphere, well, apparently someone is a little jealous or just has a vendetta. So our you suck chants are supposedly cheesy. They pump up the crowd and are a team staple. The you suck chants last night against Chicago were particularly moving . The Red Wing fan holier-than-thou routine is a bit tiresome. You're beginning to group yourself with the Canadiens. If you want to trash talk, thats fine with me, but you can do so without insulting the intelligence and passion of our fans. Pred fans are just as crazy about our team, and maybe more so in a different way with the ownership and movement s*** we put up with. What do you want me to do in return, say that Michiganers are nasally accented, rude, and look like someone just shoved a cattle prod up their ass? No, I wouldn't, because even if I think that, you have to draw the line somewhere. And besides, I daresay that if someone started that routine you'd get all defensive. Anyway, just because we might like our arena a little rowdy and our team a little rough, doesn't mean we hit up our sisters or can't spell. I wish this was on Versus, these are about the only games (other than say Capitals-Penguins) worth watching for me besides Pred games....I hope the Wings win and catch SJ for 1st so when we grab the 8th spot we can play you. Hope you enjoyed how we beat the Hawks last night......good times at the rink for sure.

OK, two things here. 1. Suter said what basically what I was trying to tell you. He didn't want to go and he definitely wasn't ready. He was just shoving and Hossa dropped 'em. He may not have pummeled Marian, but he sure would've won. 2. To Ms_Hockey, I'll say that Koistenen may be the least popular player in team history. There's a reason his nickname is Epic Fail. He sucks. I'd trade him for the last pick in the draft. This is the consensus in the hockey community here.

I'm not post whoring here but I wanted to respond to Vladifan and say that I neglected to mention I only saw the youtube clip of the fight, not the context and preceding stuff, I had turned the game off right beforehand. In my mind I just can't imagine Suter, our most respected player, deliberately seeking out Hossa. Just like you wouldn't be able to imagine a Lidstrom or Datsyuk (for argument's sake) going after someone for s&g's. I don't know the answer, at any rate.

Sure, I get your point, but you may be selling short that some of these guys have a heart, especially Suter. I'll grant you that if it was Tootoo or Klein they would've hit him till his face fell off, lol...anyway, we can agree to disagree so I don't start to get a troll rep.

Never said that buddy. I was trying to tell you that Suter may have been just avoiding getting nailed and avoiding nailing Hossa until it ran its course, thats all. Ryan's a good guy, never known for cheap shots or whatever. I don't even think he wanted to fight. Thats all.

OK, sorry for the misunderstanding, I'll say I've never personally seen a censored word here. Esteef, I watched the fight several times and I really was trying to be objective, and it appeared to me that Ryan was holding back. He didn't have anything to gain from the fight and he knew Hossa had a lot to lose, that being his health. And like I said before, Suter is an upstanding guy, whereas Tootoo on the ice isn't so much well-liked. Datsyerberger: LOL @ Kopecky-Weber...sure, man, whatever you say. Yeah, I realize Hoss is a big dude, but he's also a finesse player, so it could go either way. I maintain that Sutes was just playing it out. And really, I've never been one for blind homerism, as you might find out eventually. Check this out when Suter attacks Morrow from Dallas (he didn't really win this fight, but he was definitely pissed)

1. LOL @ this board being non-censored and the rampant obscenities. Not necessarily complaining, its a great board and I much prefer private-run ones than the Preds board that censors everything, ass, hell, you name it, and you'll get banned or suspended at the drop of a hat. 2. I'm going to turn off my Preds homerism here for a minute and give an objective view of the fight. I see quite a bit more fighting than you guys do, and I honestly think, objectively, that Suter was just being kind to Hossa. He didn't go after any big haymakers, just kinda danced around and finally ended up on top. It appeared he was in control the whole time. The game was clearly out of hand, and Hoss is a premier offensive talent in the league, and plus Suter is known as a nicer guy. On the other hand, I have seen Ryan clearly whip other defensemen in the NHL in defense of the goalie or what have you. I really think Hoss wouldn't have been so quick to dance if it was Weber or Klein. Just my 0.02.

LOL that fight flat out sucked, Suter embarrased himself, at least Hoss isn't known as a tough dude, but Suter has won fights before and that time he was just figure skating. Geez. Weber or Klein would've crushed Hossa, he got lucky. Didn't see what happened to Dumont, someone help? He's a lazy player anyway, but hate to see a scorer hurt at this point.

Yeah, sucker punching Robidas was f-d up, but really other than that incident and some ill advised late hits, Toots is a solid player, not an overwhelming amount of skill but a wicked hard shot and loads of heart and effort. Well that was a typical Nashville first period. Get owned almost the whole time, score at the end and still trail. The boys don't realize a hockey game is 60 minutes long.

Um, I don't know, because I only started watching hockey last year when we made our run and spent all summer catching up on a life's worth of information, but I disagree with you on one point and say that this rivalry is stronger than ever at the very least in Nashville. There is pure, old fashioned hate for y'all here. Now, I don't "hate" Red Wing fans, I just strongly, strongly, dislike the team, so thanks for puttin' up with me here. However, I DO hate Pred Wings. The guys that wear the Pred jerseys to home games and then break out the red wheels when you come to town. D-bags.

Terry and Pete are usually objective, and just fun to listen to for me...thats all. @the guy who showed me the playoff odds: yeah, I know its an uphill battle, but look at it this way, if we go 7-4 in each set of 11 games left, which is completely feasible, we wind up at around 85-86 points with 3 games left. Go 2-1 and you're at 90 which is all I can ask for.

Aw come on, Pete and Terry are two of the best announcers in hockey and thats no homerism either.
