ok, i dont really think filppula is overpaid at 3M, but really people need to stop with this .6 pts per game stuff. He's been on that pace for a whopping 29 games, hardly a good sample. For his career he's averaging .4 pts/game with a career high of 40 pts in a season. This is his forth full year in the NHL, so he's hardly a rookie anymore, i know the injury has put a damper on this season but really some of you guys are expecting 60-70 points out of this guy you will be disappointed. Projections mean nothing, wait until a guy does it before you give him credit for it.

you could also add leclaire, mason, and boucher(in his first run with philly) to that list. It seems o be pretty common for a young goalie to have a hot start then fizzle out. Thats the main reason im cautiously optimistic about howard. The guy could be great, or he could end up just being another guy to add to that list.

kessel is probably the most offensively talented player on the roster, i really dont see him being the odd man out.

after all this explanation i still dont know why it wasnt reviewable in this instance. in this clip evgeni nabokov makes a fantastic glove save, certainly when the ref saw the puck go in nobokovs glove he had "intent to blow" and subsequently blew the whistle stopping play. However there was reason to believe the puck had crossed the line and so it was reviewed. Whay was the case of the other night any different? Can someone explain that to me?
