Holy cow, making up quotes is not a good way to fight the the mere idea that a quote could be taken out of context. 'spending time in that city.' Sounds pretty damning to me, if he wanted to say something about the travel, he would say something about the travel. He's known for running his mouth, it's far more possible that he was doing just that, and took it too far.

Hmm, trying to imagine myself getting a call from Hank, not sure if I could really handle it. On the video after that about Brendan Smith, he seems like he's got a really good attitude, but hopefully years from now when he's given his chance here as a Wing, he loses the pedo-stache and learns to pronounce Lidstrom right. It's not 'Lindstrom.'

As much as I'd like to see Ozzie not such a damn gold backup going into the playoffs, it looks like it must be Howie or bust in the playoffs. Although, there's a good chance that no matter how cold Ozzie is, if he gets an oppurtunity, the playoffs is where he'd finally run with it.

I assure you, either team in a Hawks/Wings series will give the other a run for their money, whoever wins. Just so you know you're allowed to root for the Wings to win, whoever they play, not just root for them to get the best possible matchup because they suck too bad to beat the good teams. The Wings are one of the good teams.

People don't have to be murderers and such to be disliked. There's gonna be in betweens there. One of them is insulting Hockeytown. He may not have directly done so, but when you're whining for a spot on the Wings roster, threatening to go back to Finland if not, and then you come up and play like utter s*** and persist in the premodana act by saying you can't be helped to do the hard working plays, you just want to score goals (while scoring almost none), good riddance.

Leino has skill, but he really doesn't know how to flesh it out in this league. Haven't watched him play since he was traded, until the game against the Flyers. He still looked the same.

I picked San Jose, but note that I don't want the Wings to suddenly drop down to 8th, which is what it looks like we'd have to do to play them in the first round.

We're still playing for 6th, maybe 5th. I don't think Babcock will rest anyone but Howie in that case, but who knows.

No, have faith in Ozzie. I firmly believe Howard has kept us in the race, but Ozzie could've done the same for us. He was playing well and improving steadily despite a bad start of the season (you can blame the way everyone else played more, actually), then he missed 4 games with the flu and never got consistent starts afterward to shake off the rust. Now he's expected to miss 20 games, and be perfect in his 1st game back, then miss another 20 games, and be perfect in his first game back. Goalie's don't get out of slumps unless you play them, and Babcock had his chance to shake the rust off Ozzie before the slew of injuries hit this team. Not that Babcock could've known what was coming, I'm just saying. Also, there have only been a couple games where Ozzie looked as bad as he did last year. You put him in net this whole season with his experience and ability to win when it matters(like it has all season), and never being allowed to get cold, and I'd have put my money on him carrying us through the season. Hat's off to Howie, he's been amazing, I'm not trying to discredit him, I just personally think Ozzie has a lot of good Hockey left in him that has sort of gone to waste this season.

I'm pretty new here and I already don't like Mindfly. What the hell is the point of all that negative thinking. realistically we're the hottest team down this final stretch. realistically we just clinched a playoff birth with a season that has had just about everyone on the roster on long term injury reserve at some point or another, largely all at the same time. realistically the Wings are as dangerous as anyone in the playoffs.

I'm a big Clears fan, and I'll admit he's looked off this season. When he got back from his injury (his shoulder seperation, not the recent injury), though, like many other players it was a grind to play with all the remaining injuries to the team. Like everyone else his production was down, adjusting to the less skill/more hard work style. Everyone's stats took a hit from this "cursed" season (This season is not cursed). While his -6 is no indication that he successfuly kept with the grind in his own end this season, things are looking good as he was a bright spot in today's game in Philly, with 2 points and a +1. I think he'll most likely build off this as the playoffs are beginning and he'll shine once again in hopefully another long postseason.

I thought Ozzie played pretty well, especially considering the last time he got consistant starts. I'll look at him for the first goal, even though it was still a result of sloppy play in front of him, but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th goals against, I put on the players in front of him.

Opposing agitators also don't usually have a pedo-stache, it's new territory for them.

I like Flip, he's a team player with a lot of skill.

if this was the correct logic then we shouldn't have won any game this season. I thought the Wings carried play for the most of the game, it's just their lazy start cost them the whole game. I seriously doubt, though, that they were thinking, 'it's only the worste team in the NHL right now, we don't need to take them seriously.' If I thought they were thinking that, there's no way I would be able to root for them. They're professionals give them more credit than that.
