I said it last game and I will say it again...the writing is on the wall that HARD DECISIONS need to be made regarding PERSONNEL on this team.

Anytime they get mentioned I wonder how they are NHL players...Any coach with half a clue would realize they are beyond useless and they should be relegated to permanent press box seats or outright dropped completely from the roster

On the record: No I hate to see players getting hurt Off the record: While never "happy" about injuries, seeing some young talent playing well is always a good sign!

I can't find it for the life of me, but several years ago there was a junior game in canada in which a brawl broke out and during the course of it the ref told a linesman to get in there and break up the fight, but the linesman instead turns and begins to fight the ref. If anyone can find it, please do post.

I have to admit I miss the days of the Wings - Avs rivalry when it was at its height...games had to be won by outworking your opponent for every inch of ice, not by being a big media market team on tv during a "nationally" televised game. Hell, WWE is more convincing when it comes to tv "drama"

3 instances of 5 on 3's lasting almost 2 full mins on each occurrence makes me wonder how the NHL can seriously think the state of the "game" is doing well? Officials 75' away from the play calling penalties when the guy 15' away doesn't have his hand up...really? Then they put the whistles away when the Kings get the lead? I thought the manufactured "drama" was supposed to go both ways?

I was at a game there between the two right after new years for 2008 where I witnessed possibly the most disgusting act I have ever seen. I (unfortunately) had standing room tix for the game up behind the 300 level seats where the Wings were shooting twice during the game and had another group of Wings fans who were next to my friend and I during the game. With about 2 mins left in the game and Detroit having a victory sealed, a group of 4 Chicago fans walked up from the seats they had and immediately got into an argument with the group next to us about apparently mocking Chicago's chant regarding Detroit (the Wings group just flipped it around and said Chicago Sucks!) Next thing you know, some pushing and shoving starts and a female fan in the Wings group tried to separate the two guys and then out of nowhere she gets a hard right hook right to the jaw. As this was happening my friend and I began backing away in case things escalated, but there was no denying how disgusting it was seeing a women get punched right in the face like that. Once my friend and I got away from the action, security began running from all directions and even one grabbed me asking for information of what had just happened. I told them exactly what happened and one of the guys had a pair of cuffs for the guy who punched the female fan (I'm assuming he was an off duty cop). I never did find out what happened after that, but actually witnessing seeing a women get punched like that just sickened me and actually turned me off from going to games there when Detroit came to town. I just look at it as why bother when the level of harassment has gotten progressively worse since Chicago became relevant again.

Now does this ramp up the Luongo trade speculation again in Vancouver? Anyways great win especially with it being the back end of a back to back in less than 24 hrs!!!
