I like how he pulled a Fleury when he tried the initial time to slam the boards with his stick... in all honesty though I think the play should have been blown dead on the first attempt, but then again the ref's angle was from the goal line looking out so he may have deemed it that the motion was continuous since the player never did actually stop his feet. The 2nd one definately looked like it got the crossbar cause it shot out very quickly after the shot and the netting looked as if it were a little loose, but who knows for sure with the quality of the video it was too tough to tell conclusively

It does seem like that is happening a little more frequently than what would seem like the norm, but thats hockey, nothing you can do about it. I have been reffing for the last 10 yrs now and I mean it happens when there is no chance to get out of the way, but I always try my best to anticipate the play happening and then move to an area that is open...if I turn my head to avoid getting hit I would always expect my partner to cover me if there is an infraction occuring and I don't have my eyes on it, but thats just me

I thought against the Blues he looked very solid for not having been up with the big club in a while and then earlier tonight against the Avs (I did miss the first half of the game due to night class) I thought he was solid again. There was one small play, in the second I believe, where he calmly got back and took the puck away from Smyth very smoothly in one motion and quickly touched it to Kronner and back on the transition they went. I thought that play, even though it had no bearing on the outcome, just shows that he is poised to be very good for years to come.

Holmstrom - Datsyuk - Cleary Leino - Zetterberg - Hossa Franzen - Hudler - Flip Helm - Draper - Sammy Kopy - Scratch, Maltby Lidstrom - Rafalski Kronwall - Ericsson Stuart - Lilja Chelios - Scratch Osgood/Conklin I think these lines could work because the top 2 are deadly and the bottom 2 can be scrappy somewhat and create some energy. As far as the D go, keep the top 2 together, but then you can put a big hitter with a solid supporter with some size and then we can hope that Stuart fills in nicely with Lilja, which I think is a good possibility since Lilja tends to be a little more stay at home.

do the fans still cheer after an icing call has been whistled? Or did they do away with that? anyways...I've been to that arena and I do remember the time when I was there during the early summer months of the lockout season and I happened to have a layover that day in Nashville on my way to Florida and there was an Arena Football League game going on there at the arena, the Gaylord Entertainment Center it was then, and it just happened to be that the Chicago AFL franchise was in town. So I go to the game and I decide to go and get some food during one of the quarters and just happened to notice the guys in the food stand were wearing Preds hats as part of their uniform and so I ask him casually if he missed having the Preds around during the year...he looks at me and goes "Who are the Predators?" ( I am not making this up at all) I walked away and just laughed once I got back to my seat. To make a long story short...I do believe they don't have many educated fans down in music city when it comes to hockey, but they do have Jack's BBQ on the main strip and that I can give them credit for.

in case anybody would like to know...two current Kings players #17 Wayne Simmonds and Jack Johnson are former teammates of mine Simmonds with the Brockville Braves Jr. A club in Ontario in 05-06 Johnson with Shattuck St. Mary's in 02-03...our team also featured none other than Sidney Crosby
