    Daniel Larsson's comments on Osgood&Howard

Larsson has some valid points for sure. He did play better in the AHL than Howard did, and at this point he could very well be a better goalie than Osgood. With that in mind, that's just not how the Red Wings' management likes their players to act. Hell, that's not how the NHL likes their players to act, period. Do I think some players should boast a bit more? Sure... I'm cool with Subban and his swagger (f*** you Panger, lol j/k). But just who the hell does the guy think he is? He's proven NOTHING at the NHL level... awesome, you're good in Sweden and decent in the AHL. Way to go champ. In my opinion, no player should put himself above the team and Larsson is doing just that with his comments. The Red Wings have shown that they prefer a guy who buys into the team philosophy over one with his own agenda, regardless of their talent (Avery comes to mind). Larsson's future as a Red Wing, in my opinion, is over. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that Osgood has become completely unreliable. Based solely on skill, I'd take a shot at letting Larsson be our back-up, but with these comments I have a very hard time seeing the Red Wings giving him the job next season.

    Ritola has inner ear disease

I've had pretty much the same thing twice in my life, with two surgeries to repair the damage. There's been a hole in my right eardrum both times, leading to equilibration issues and the like. At the most severe times I'd have problems with balance, nausea and ear pain. I still can't get water in my ear and I have to be careful when it's really windy out. I can only imagine having those problems and then getting rocked by a 220+ guy into the boards.

11/30 GDT: Red Wings 5 at Sharks 3

It's great to see Dano stay consistent so far this season... every time he puts the puck in the net, or gets an assist it puts a smile on my face. He's a guy who really gets it when it comes to work ethic and desire.

Could somebody with some experience in the area PM me with instructions on how to view a fellow LGW user's stream? I've been curious about it for quite awhile, and my NHL Network package has blacked out the game for me. Any help that anyone can provided would be greatly appreciated, even by pointing out anything I'm doing wrong in my attempts to use it.

    Datsyuk's goal song?

I think the only way to get more annoying than the Blackhawks' goal song is if we played this after every goal: Although, it would be true

    Datsyuk's goal song?

I bet he didn't see that one coming, ha ha. Where has all the good music gone? :|

Good to see Sauce back on track. "Yes, I have slow start. Then I make big explosion with 7 points."

    Modano has severed flexor tendon

Big bummer for Modano and hopefully he recovers quickly. Looks like Abdelkader is going to get a shot at being the 3rd line center for awhile.

It's like... let's watch 50 minutes of painful hockey, and then 10 minutes of awesome hockey. I'd consider turning it off, but I fully expect that to happen.

    Flames Fans Blame Refs

To me, they were pretty much fine until Iginla blew up. When players see their captain lose it, they generally follow suit. I'm not taking anything away from him as a player, as notching 3 points speaks for itself, but the guy really has some temper issues. Detroit keeps its composure consistently, and they're lead by a captain who exudes patience. I don't think it's an coincidence that they're such a successful team. Just my take.

Brian Rafalski NHL 3rd Star of the Week

He's pretty much been the definition of an offensive defenseman... but I appreciate the boost he's given the PP, even if it didn't show right away.

11/21 GDT: Flames 4 at Red Wings 5 (OT)

Hudler's been garbage, there's no doubt about it, but last game he actually looked decent to me. I noticed a nice backchecking play as well as him creating some chances for himself. He wasn't doing that early on. The only reason he didn't score again is because Backstrom made a really nice pad save. If he stops creating chances for himself and his teammates (aka: actually hustling), then take him out.

    Kings pursuing Iginla?

The Kings could definitely pull it off. The question is, would they? Quite a few of their players are having good years. If could somehow work in sending Handzus the other way, it'd be worth it, but they'd also have to ship off some young talent. They're also pretty set in terms of the right wing, although I could see them moving Brown back over to the LW if Iginla came over. The lines would be pretty solid. Assuming they give up Handzus, Loktionov/Schenn & Hickey/Teubert: Brown-Kopitar-Iginla Smyth-Stoll-Williams Poni-Richardson-Simmonds Clifford-Schenn/Lok-Westgarth Pretty good depth.

This is sexy. EDIT: EVERY single time they start losing, they run people. Garbage team full of whiners.

Their past few games have been pretty ugly, so hopefully Detroit can capitalize on that. I'd like to see 5+ goals scored.

    Brett Lebda signs with Toronto

I only find this amusing because I remember him doing an interview when he just started with the Leafs. He said something along the lines of, "Detroit was great, but Toronto is the hockey capital of the world". Well Brett, enjoying the hockey capital? Better bring some bear mace when you're anywhere in public.

cruising with AO in moscow lol

He doesn't, he listens to Justin Bieber I used to really like Ovie more than Crosby, but right now I'm just kind of indifferent to both guys. It's just fun cracking jokes at Crosby's expense, I don't hold any real grudge against him. I just think Ovechkin listening to Tupac suits him more than it does Crosby, for whatever reason.

Bruins in a cap pinch come mid-December

I'm assuming he was pointing out that as a Leafs fan, you should want Savard to be traded instead. If I remember right, there were rumors of Burke going after Savard in the off-season. Otherwise, he just thinks Wheeler is a center, and I made more speculation than Eklund right there. As people have noted, there are a lot of viable options for the Bruins to trade. I don't follow them really closely, but I tend to check out the forums at Hockey's Future a lot, so I do see players they harp on. Wheeler is usually the center of the discussion when they're talking about a defensive liability or players who have no heart. Ryder makes sense because his performance has fluctuated up and down by 20 point increments for the past 5 years. Thomas makes sense because he's older, and they have a capable goalie playing back-up right now. Savard makes sense because they have really good depth at center. Wheeler makes sense because of all the knocks on his game.

    Flippula vs Hudler

While this thread is doomed to go nowhere fast, I'll have to throw my vote to Filppula. I think Hudler has the ability to make more offensively creative plays, but I think Flip is the better overall player. His speed really helps him offensively, which helps him to catch up with Hudler's hands. When it comes to defensive play, it's no contest. Filppula has made some Datsyukian defensive plays this season. He's really impressed me with some of his back-checking and his stick work (no homo). To me he looks faster than ever. He just needs to make better decisions with the puck, IMO. He looked decent last night on the 2nd line. I see no reason to mess with the lines given the way they played last night. Yeah, it was Edmonton, but give it a few games to see where he goes from here. I noticed that Hudler seems to struggle with some of the basic things on the ice. He seems to chip the puck into the wrong places, or make errant passes. He also seems like he's rushing to get rid of the puck a lot of the time. He just needs to calm down and show some of the poise he did before.
