No need to rush the guy. At the moment, he's the most promising defensive prospect in the system. Does the team really need him right now? They're 9-3-1 and not playing the best hockey that they can. Let the kid play 20+ minutes in the AHL, excel, learn all the little nuances of the game and become a better overall player for it. I would still keep him in the AHL for another full year after this one, but that's just my opinion. Doesn't seem to me like Lidstrom feels like slowing down, and as such I think he'll be around another year.

I'm actually a bit surprised by this signing, with all the issues he had last season. He's notched 11 points in 13 games, so he's on the right track. Good for him.

I've been a fan of Ozzie for years, and I appreciate everything he's done. He's come up clutch many times. However, the past few years he's been steadily declining. His ability to make timely saves has disappeared and he seems to get scored on in bunches and by poor scoring chances. With his contract up at the end of the year, I almost hope he sees his decline and just decides to hang them up. If his poor play continues through the rest of the season I would have to push for signing a decent back-up goalie to fill-in while McCollum matures for a few seasons.

I put yes because I would prefer the early times for games, and the lighter travel schedule. I thought of this to, but I feel like the team is disciplined enough as it is, or at least they have been in the past. The slow start right now is what usually happens, so I expect them to get on track soon. I don't think they'd be taking any opponent for granted when it counts most.

I want Homer to skate up to Bryzgalov tomorrow night, look like he's about to knock him over just like Orr, and then gently tap Bryz on the shoulder. The resulting goalie interference penalty will give us all the proof we need. Muah ha ha.

I personally don't care. The more money the sport gets, the bigger it can get. As long as the ads are behind the glass, and not on the player's jerseys I'm more than fine with it. Anything to help the sport expand and grow.

Kind of hope someone scoops Meech up. He'd probably help Grand Rapids, but I don't want him taking the spot of one of the guys still developing. Maltby should be a good mentor to the younger guys there.

Kind of a dick move to bring Lilja all the way over to Europe just to not give him a contract. I'd like to see another team toss him a deal, but who knows. If he agreed to take a 2-way deal and go to G.R. that would be awesome. I'd kind of hate to see him go overseas, but that might be the most likely scenario now.

Rosehill's actually not a terrible player. There's no room for him, but if there was he'd be the kind of "enforcer" I'd want. Younger guy too.

Good to see our prospects getting some respect. With Detroit generally drafting pretty late, their prospects are often overlooked.
