I wouldn't mind Modano for ONE year @ 900K or so. Just throw Ritola through waivers, and we'd carry 14 forwards. Hudler-Modano-Cleary Abdelkader-Helm-Eaves Miller, Draper I think Abdelkader could drop the gloves more often.

Sutter is officially insane... seriously.
-
I def didn't think he'd go for 1.8... I guess his past injuries contributed a bit to the lower cap hit. I would have taken him at 1.8.
-
Solid deal for Foster IMO.
-
I'd love Sutton over most of the other guys, but he made 3.5 last season and he had a solid playoffs. I can only imagine that someone will be able to pay him more than Detroit.
-
Foster put up 42 points last season, I think he's a little out of our price range.
-
So much for my mental image of seeing Boogaard tied to Datsyuk and screaming at people.
-
Boogaard for 1.65, 4 years... no way it's Detroit. Also, I hate to give them credit, but Pittsburgh has a nice Top 4. Orpik-Letang Goligoski-Michalek One of the best pure hitters in the league, and one of the best shot blockers... gotta give it up.

Double "noooooo"
-
Malholtra is an overpayment... 2.5, 3 years and a NTC? eesh... and for once I agree with McGuire, this is a slap in the face to Cody Hodgson.
-
No... his inner d-bag would flare up and he'd kick the puppy.
-
...I said he'd save children from a burning building too...
-
I hope we sign Modano now because people are saying he IS a ******... then he comes here, puts up 40 points for 900K, saves some children from a burning building and then some of you guys can eat crow.
-
Honestly, Detroit can only be so loyal to veteran players until it really starts impacting the younger talent. The loss of Quincey comes to mind.
-
Wouldn't mind him, but it seems like the Wings are going to retain all of their RFA's, plus Draper and Ritola... and maybe Maltby. I don't think there's room for what we have now, let alone another forward... best case scenario we cut ties with Miller, let Ritola go through waivers, don't sign Malts and extend an offer to an agitator/enforcer. Z-Dats-Homer Bert-Flip-Mule Huds-Abs-Cleary Draper/?-Helm-Eaves ?/Draper Edit: Although, if Abs can drop the gloves more it'd work out fine. Huds-Modano-Cleary Abs-Helm-Eaves Draper

We've already got too many "skilled" forwards... I don't really see where he'd fit. Filppula or Hudler would end up having to be the 3rd line center. No thanks.

Oilers Place Nilsson, Moreau, and O'Sullivan on Waivers
Jesusberg replied to stevie12's topic in General
Kind of a bummer... Moreau could have been a decent addition to the team. Plus, he kind of looks like Keanu Reeves when he plays Neo. -
Is it cheating if I go there with a Tampa Bay Lightning contract?
-
I think if Mule scores like he can, then some of Bertuzzi's playmaking skills will help as well. And no, I'm not talking about his boneheaded no-look, drop passes...
-
The Red Wings are really looking to get tougher this off season. Some of the picks they made plus these training camp invites. I like it.
-
No offense to you personally but a huge no to Wellwood. The guy has some talent, but he coasts way too much. Also, he's kind of a ****** outside of the rink. I've run into him on two separate occasions and he's pretty rude to people, not me personally, but I've seen it towards others. On the other hand, I'd take a crack at Morrison for the right cap hit.
-
1.5 million? No thanks. The most I see Holland and co. spending on any type of enforcer is 750k, and even that's pushing it.

This was attempted on me by my mother... she was a big Habs fan, but I rebelled. Eventually she came over to the good side too.
