i agree i mean when the young fans read about fedorov's career in twenty years, they will say wow he came in as an incredible offensive talent and became the best defender in the world, and he was always scoring clutch goals for detroit. not to mention he has almost a thousand points for us which is amazing

espn is all about trying to be hip and catering to the generic sports fans. whether you like it the nhl culture is very canadian and the things that espn values are basically as un-canadian as it gets. its unfair but espn is just crap for in depth analysis anyway. i am also a soccer fan and espn doesnt even care about this either. they put darts on ESPN and shove Champions League soccer to ESPN 2, its a joke. its also stupid because i can understand why people like watching basketball and football but baseball is just hitting a ball with a stick and running in a square, there is no drama of the incredible dangle or big check. also the steroids scandle have destroyed baseball culture forever, and still espn is blindly loyal to a game that is losing popularity for years...

around the nhl there is a strong group that thinks mike richards will win, but i think this is just the usual eastern conference bias. datsyuk is old school soviet style hockey at its best- beautiful but always practical. thornton and marleau are both crappy leaders, they have no intensity and marleau especially looks sad 24/7. his facial expression is dumb. i laughed when people said joe thornton was being 'intense' all game 5- getzlaf was playing intense all series, you can tell he is the obvious successor to the captaincy in anaheim. natural leader. but you can see why boston ditched thornton he just has no intensity at all. thornton has basically proved he is the worst leader ever and will never win a cup

vancouver will win easy.. they have a better goalie by a mile and sedin bros are better than kane and havlat. toews is like yzerman with about 20 % as much skill. kesler will shut him down and bernier and burrows add depth. if chicagos idea of depth is dustin bufglen they r in for a surprise to say the least btw when i am watching luongo he is incredible... best canuck since pavel bure. never lets in a soft goal, basically you need to get wide open and even then he might stop you. if we play canucks we are not going to be scoring on a 70 foot slap shot by liddy

i am surprised mason was picked he was pretty much equivalent to an earlytwentieth century lightbulb in effectiveness by the end of the season... backstrom is another overrated fin. Thomas should win in a landslide unless bettman has a cricket bat in his arse

you can say the same thing about shanny and osgood... and yet some people think osgood should be retired. the fact is yzerman could not win without fedorov either, and feddy hasnt exactly played for any good teams since he left (except washington this year but he is now a role player). still 950 points is by far the best of the monder era beside yzerman for us that is a lot of points. in comparison sid abel and ted lindsay didnt even hit 800 points, and terry sawchuck helped out arch rival toronto win a few cups. and anyone who says he didnt play for us for a long time, he only stayed on board for about ten years in an era where a star can bolt pretty much anywhere he wants. he was a luxury player but he was also skilled and was the best player whenever he played for us

i wouldnt say dandenault hasnt been successful, he is living his dream playing for montreal (he grew up in quebec). he is still one of the fastest players

crosby is no longer the face off nhl. after he was in injury last year ovechkin took over with the 65 goals. ovechkin is the face of the nhl now

the reason he has always good checks is his speed. most player are much slower when they come in for the check but when you multiply speed by weight, helm is actually coming in with a greater force than bigger guy
