the simulation is bs. ea sports almost always has the red wings not making the playoffs when u simulate nhl 09 because osgood is so bad. it also almost always has datsyuk scoring less than a point per game when i sumlated the season. so how do u think it will let them beat teams with good goalies like columbus.

good call i was thinking similarly. bob gainey the current canadiens coach is alright but he does not have a developed proven system like lemaire. he is also not french canadian or a legend in montreal. saku koivu seems like the perfect guy for his style imo although kovalev is an old a fart as u can get

franzen is completely different than zetterberg tho the comparisons dont work. at the end of zetterberg's career he will probably be a bit of a draper-esque player, more defensively skilled and probably a great penalty kill guy. can franzen offer us that? at least he is swedish

we can probably still get hossa. he is at the midway point of his career so he probably wants to settle down somewhere and where better than beautiful detroit. the city may be pretty crap but at least he will know he will make the playoffs more consistently than he has before. the problem with franzen is that he is not exactly young and he has only had 1 30 goal year in his career. 10 years is a gamble especially for an unproven talent. we have brilliant people like lidstrom and datsyuk and zeta but it has been a long time since the days of the two kids and a goat line, and st nicholas wants kevin lidstrom to live in sweden so they will probably move back after his contract ends. the only realy good young guy is leino but we are putting old farts like maltby on the club insted of him

hudler is not a big loss we can replace him with leino anyway. leino is a god he was mvp of the finish sm-liga he was setting scoring records for helsinki jokerit. samuelsson is good though i would not like to lose any swedes. leino will definitely become a superstr tho he is pure class. the problem with hossa is that we are paying 7 million a year to a guy who does not get a point per game- if u watch him close i think he is still a bit rusty because he is holding onto the puck a bit too long, his assist are down. franzen on the other hand is a bargain if we can get a 30 goals per year guy for about 2 million, i will take this if we must lose hossa. in the end i do not think it will be a problem because lidstrom wants to go play in sweden in a couple years so kevin can go to school there so that will free up much cap space for ericsson when he becomes a god
