i have watched maltby play since i was born and i do not care what others think of him, i have my own opinion and i am not influenced by others. he has helped us win 4 cups and he has been a good team mate and a bad enemy, this is what we need more of

ovechkin is a good shot, definitely a better shooter than gretzky he has much less to shoot at. ovechkin will probably be the best sniper ever and i think he will pass gretzky in goals but not points
-
dont worry we will make it you guys just support the team, trust me howard can lead us

Leino to Flyers for Tollefsen and a 5th Rounder

okay my friend is swedish so maybe this is a joke but i think norway is a nicer one than finland, is this true or is it not -
yes gainey is a joke, a great player but sadly it doesnt always turn into a good coach/leader. hehe for gainey
-
also some people are picking lilja and it is a good pick, he is a friendly guy and i played call of duty with him once and he was just very friendly
-
why are you mean, maltby is a player with lots of heart and he never has gotten a big salary, he is also a team player and he is emotional, these are all good qualities in a hockey player that some of the best players in the world dont have, but you will find them in kirk maltby
-
he is great and he is the heart of the club along with howie and helm

Does Holland have the courage to tank this team?

z is not as intense as he was a couple years ago, he does not take defenders on anymore, he needs to be fancy and agressive datsyuk is just confused he has no idea what the team is doing howard is brilliant and the best player we have made since zetterberg -
the rest of the forwards have been bad, pavel is not to blame, he is a playmaker and there are no playfinishers. lidstrom is also old and not as good and kronwall has been injured for a while. even z has not been as good as he was in 2008, i wonder if he will ever be a 40 goal scorer again

tollefson is actually scandinavian so he will get along well with the swedes. i dont think anyone respected leino on the team but ole is a tough player and a hard worker -
yes passing is much harder on the off wing

Okay which club do you guys think has the most grit overall i am very curious, some people do not even know what grit is, sometimes i wonder about it but I think we have it anyway which club has the most grit i would say phoenix because they have fought so many battles to make the playoffs if they do, and all defense teams have grit and they are very defensive
-
it doesnt really matter, it depends on your style of play. the red wings have more leftys than rightys so usually we put leftys on the right but it doest really matter, for example phil kessel for toronto plays on the left but he is right handed, he does this on the power play so he can improve his angle when shooting. usually this is why people will switch to their off side, but alot of players prefer to play with their stick closer to the boards so that it is harder to take the puck away and so they can tie up a defender on face offs. also almost all defenders will play on the right if they are right handed and vice versa because if the puck rolls up the boards its much easier to control it, otherwise you will have to use your foot or backhand and it puts you in a bad position with your body

he doesnt have the desire trust me i can smell the desire and talent waiting to be found and you will not find it within justin abdelkaders heart also fighting imo means nothing, even if a guy is average and he fights it is good, it shows desire, but if i was a gm i would need a player to have some skill, abdelkader is not a good enough decision maker imo. when i first saw players like z and datsyuk and kronner and even helm as rookies they made decisions, even if they were bad they made decisions. now they are improving or are legends, abdulu is just not a good decision maker

we are still a cup contender dont worry we will survive
-
its very nice to see a young club honour their recent legends, i think we have set the highest standard in the nhl with jersey retirements its ridiculous, on any other club vladdys jersey would be retired

How does Brad McCrimmon STILL have a job?
Kwame_Kilpatrick replied to Winged_Wheeler's topic in General
babcock has been brilliant and i stand by him 100%, he has made the team from a offensive superpower into a deffensive club in only one season, same coach and almost a completely different system. he knew howard was our only chance to make the playoffs and i would say our whole team is based around tight d now -

filpulla is already a legend i am 100% happy with him -
also srry if i have offended ne canadians i kno most do not agree with cherry and respect people from all nations and i respect canada for their skill and passion
-
what a wanker cherry is, thinks he is brilliant sticking up for canada, no one is even trying to start a fight. canadian nationalism gimme a break. anyway lidstrom doesnt play an agressive or physical gam he plays the best kind of game, a mental game, that is why lidstrom beat phaneuf in the most important defense statistic: plus/minus. also dont be fooled by lidstroms low hits number, usually he just casually will tie up someones stick and end the attack. also he is a better passer than phaneuf and more clutch. also do you think phaneuf will be this good when he is 40? he will probably be watching the game from a pub in alberta

i agree we dont need high draft picks, we need good scouts, yzerman was not the best rated player in his draft even but he was the only legend, that is what we need to get the most out of picks and we will be a good club, also it will allow us to keep good players if we draft well -
i believe jimmy howard can lead us to the stanley cup, when i see him play i just see a man with desire and passion for the game that no one on the red wings has had since yzerman left. i believe the soul of the club has returned and this is the soul that clubs like san jose and chicago do not have

they dont blow they are just younger backstrom eriksson zeta alfredsson sedin bros foppa liddy age 100 kronner look at all the good players, i have not even talkd about weinhandl and of course he is a legend in russia
