okay of the ones playing now here is who i would pick 1. quincey - hes gonna be a star hes better than meech or ericsson, especially meech. if it wasnt for chelios we would still have him 2. ty conklin - i think he couldve been the #1 if ozzie was hurt and i trust him a lot, he was a fun guy 3. slava kozlov - i think hes a quality player, if he was on a line with filpulla and franzy i think theyd be great

z is probably going to be the captain just because he is the most level headed, datsyuk is a good leader but he is more of a joker and idk if he can keep enough of a straight face to be the captain. filpulla just puts in a lot of effort so i would like to see him as an assistant, kronwall is also legitimate

the most annoying players for me are williams, and bertuzzi. i am less annoyed with maltby because he is kinda a historic player for us and i like him but bertuzzi i have never liked and he and williams were both a waste of free agent money. hopefully when lidstrom retires we can buy another great player- i would get nicklas backstrom from washington i think he will be the best player in the world

okay this is not goalie niklas backstrom of minnesota wilds but swedish center nicklas backstrom of washington capitals. he is a passer of great skill and a good defensive player also. very low key swedish style of play he is the next sundin (except better). his contract is finish after next season, same time lidstrom contract is done, and many think liddy will retire. with big ericsson cming up on d it will make room for a new star to join the club. datsyuk and hank and hossa will be old then do u think maybe backstrom will join red wings he could be the next swedish god

all the greatness of original six clubs seems dead. detroit is the only one who is always good now when was the last time Montreal or Toronto was good

I agree last post is very accurate pavel is trying very hard but it seems like nobody on our team can figure out what he will do so they r confused.

datsyuk is better by far. he is one of the five best players in the world and maybe zeta is top 20 but he just is not on pavels level. he is only good with pavel because he feels more comfortable so he tries more tricks

if u are judging hossa on the playoffs look at datsyuk... not exactly a fair argument. also he has looked deadly, just hasnt found a good line partner to work with

i know most fans will remember sergei fedorov very well. he is in my humble opinion one of the most explosive and best wings ever. maybe he was pricy and a fancy player but he was one of the most clutch playoff guys ever for red wings and he had almost 1000 point for us. he was also a leader and probably the best player on 3 stanley cup clubs for us. no one has wore the number 91 since sergei the fancy. do u guys think wings will retire his number? i think so
