Never said fights did matter. If you browse around this site you will get a sense of what games were physicality fests and you will find most of them are Eastern Conference.

Who scares you in the West? Should be no one. LA? Stl? Their series was one of the tamest. It was Dallas for awhile but they traded away fistric which was the instigator of it all. NHL isn't that physical anymore but there are teams in the EAst that still show the edge. Wings will have to deal with plenty of it in their new division, much more than their old one.
