I thought before this series he should at least draw in for one game just to be a missile out there and bruise up/fluster any hawk he sees. Players like tootoo are the bane of the hawks existence.

I only saw the embellishment by Franzen in this past game, and the call should have been made. He shouldn't have laid there for an hour but it was a missed call.. Of course franzen is a diver but Toews is taking it to new level here. Every stick that touches him he flops trying to draw a roughing call or a trip. Also a clear embellishment by Bolland who ran straight into his man then flopped like a ton of bricks.

Pretty safe to say Toews is giving a diving exhibition this series, doesn't belong in the game.

Torres went for a standard hit. There was absolutely nothing malicious with it. Stoll wasn't injured. It was a nothing play. Nothing to get up in arms about and nothing worth a suspension.

It is pretty clear the NHL is mainly focusing on getting big hits out of the game. They have turned a blind eye to tons of elbows, stick work, and slewfoots in the past few years.

After seeing the Torres hit form last night unless it is a rob blake hipcheck any big hit is going to receive a penalty. Nobody in the league but maybe doughty and fistric ever do the rob blake hipcheck.

I don't think theres a chance we will get to use physicality against the hawks without being penalized: Straight up shoulder to shoulder gets caught for "charging".

Hawks are the healthiest team right now, wings gotta at least try to knock a few guys out of thier lineup.

I live in Chicago and I will tell you without a doubt the UC is a far more hostile environment for little kids. I've even seen Hawks fans deck Wings fans celebrating while walking in the aisles after goals and there is much more profanity. You will notice at the joe that when there isn't a goal celebration or a lets go wings chant the crowd tends to focus on the game and stay a bit quieter than in most arenas. Even during the finals I never saw that much hostility given to Pens fans as that is the only time I've been to the Joe and actually seen large throngs of opposing fans.

Wings need to be tough and nasty, the hawks if you can believe it had less/equal fights (depending on what you consider a fight) this year than us, they are one of the least physical teams in the league and according to their fans they lock up in a physical battle. The Wild aside form Clutterbuck gave them 0 physical challenge. Kronwall needs to hit early and often and nobody can give them any space physically,
