Bettman says solving hits to the head will take time
jollymania replied to CenterIce's topic in General
/i think a blindside head hit should be 2min, if the player is injured 5min and game possible discipline -
I think so, i wouldn't mind him here.

at the time it was considered legal, thus it is on here. I didn't put it in my personal top 10 but over 200 voted on this and I think it is a good representation whether you like the richards hit or not. Mine was 1. sutton leopold 2. Weaver sharp 3. Clutterbuck richards 4. phaneuf okposo 5. sutton boulton 6. mitchell toews 7. boychuk stajan 8. boychuk ellis 9. white cole 10. stuart anisimov

I agree with the cooke factor, guys like this would definitely fizzle out if there was an instigator, im for the instigator but it isn't a be all end all -
looked like he got some body, it is hard to tell form the angles in this vid, a more telling angle might be the reverse angle or a behind the net angle.

Why is this even an issue? Get rid of the cheap hits and the only headshots you will have left are the clean ones that nobody can ***** about. And cheap hits will never leave, instigator or not. Although it is weird that most guys start fights after clean this now rather than dirty ones. -
it wasn't that dirty, get over it, the Mitchell hit was just as much of a blindside if that is your qualm. For me personally the Weaver hit is #2 behind Sutton's
-
oh well, it was massive and deserves to be alongside all of these other great hits

you do know that punching a shield doesn't hurt that much, not any more than a helmet

I don't get all of the Colby Armstrong Love

clean hit, you could have been wise and at least shown his mock elbow that he got suspended for this year -
a majority were, and all of them are hits that involve the hip, btw rob blake is in this comp

no ,

not many, mostly just to take up space at the end

the headshot rule would be absolute garbage, they were calling head hits in the NAtional Championship game that weren't even close, it is seriously one of the most inane rules in hockey if they put it in. If you want to get rid of blatant "headshots", get rid of cheapshots, because if your elbows are down, your feet are planted and you follow through with shoulder, there is no way you can punish that hit because it is 100% clean. And what happens to the tall players?
-
THey would also have to say if you helmet gets punched off the fight continues. I think there should be an extra penalty when guys tackle the other guy down, that is when most of the head hitting the ice injuries occur.
-
why don't they work on fixing the no visors, no fighting, and no beer at games rules first. that is the only rule change here I approve of

for cleary it is a matter of getting back to where he was 2 years ago, and def it is time for filppula to step up, also don't forget kronwall, he was having a norris-type seaosn before his injury and after it he never was the same

Study on checking in youth leagues shows higher brain injury risk

They should start them earlier so by the time they can hurt each other they at least know how to take and receive a hit -
Armstong or Asham

Here is a guy completely under the radar, he only made 600,000 last year. He is about Rafalski's size but grittier and can throw some mean hits for his size and also the old school hipcheck, probably more frequently than anyone besides Ballard. I think even though he is smaller he would be a good fit in our d core because he plays bigger than he is and comes at a cheap price.
-
he has potential... but he is always injured
-
that doesn't mean he isn't injured in many of those games
-
the dude is literally always injured
