If he takes less money than Lilja which is doubtful, though I don't know his cap number.
-
I don't know who was using that, but adding eager would detract form team toughness. Asham sounds right.
-
i live in metro chicago, you do not want to be saying stuff like this
-
exactly, the dude is probably laughed at by his teammates on a regular basis

you have a warped view of hockey then. Here are a list of people datsyuk has put on thier cans: Chara, Murray, CLowe, Malone, Perry. is this your definition of a good hit? looks to me like ville leino or jason williams could have laid someone out in that situation so much skill involved in this amazingly tough hit:
-
thats what i am trying to say, there are tough attitudes, and then there are peopel liek ben eager who are literally prancing monkeys on ice not necessarily, datysuk can take and give more punishment if he wanted/does, eager is forced into that role becuase he sucks and there is no doubt apprehension in his game. Datsyuk would rumble into corners featuring guys like Doug Murray or Zdeno Chara, good luck getting Eager to go near those guys. YOu cant compare them as being tough in the manner that you are speaking of no, but in general toughness a guy like datsyuk is very high on the list and eager is very low. If datsyuk wasn't a 90 pts a year guy and just a 4 goal scorer, and probably born in canada where there is more of a culture for fighting, he probably would be a fighter and a tough one at that. Just because Eager fights does not make him tough. He is the last person Holland is looking for on the 4th line he is like Jason Williams, but he sucks even harder and fights on occasion and never when it is necessary.
-
Datsyuk is a tough player in a hockey sense, Eager is not, Eager only has his current job because he completely failed when he joined the nhl, he was a 1st rounder after all. Have you ever seen one of Eager's hits? He doesn't completely nail the guy unless he has at least half an ice worth's of strides. There is no reason for pavel to fight, if he were that type of player he would probably one of the highest rated guys in toughness. Eager is a ***** who prances around the ice looking tough
-
Yes it does mean he is hockey tough, fighting does not equal "hockey" toughness, Holmstrom is imo one of the toughest players in the league, does he fight? it hurts a lot more to be nailed by a puck in the face or be crosschecked mercilessly, i wonder sometimes if anybody who uses the fighting = toughness argument have ever even played the game. Ian Laperriere gets double respect in that regard yes he fights, but thats not where all of his toughness lies and not even most of it is boogaard out there blocking shots with his face. Booggaard probably isn't as tough in those kind of regards, I have seen him get laid out and get up like a skating ******, if he were smaller he could possibly be exposed. He wins all of his fights because 1 he's good at fighting and 2 he is flat out massive not because he is a tough, gritty player.
-
ahahahah no he wouldn't have saved that rat

you have to be tough to fight regularily, but it isn't a be all end all whether a guy fights alot or not saying he is tough. Pavel Datsyuk is tough, does it look like he fights that much? Pronger is tough, how many fights does he get in? And as far as regular fighters come, eager is about as ***** as they get, very similar to Patrick Kaleta.

There's really only one question about next season's team now.

Colby armstrong, imagine a line with him, helm, and abs, that would be a meat grinder on the forecheck -
pennsylvania

fighting does not equal toughness, drake was a guy who fought when necessary, when eager needs to fight he usually backs down and does something idiotic like run away and try to taunt the guy
-
Asham is the most desirable from the list posted imo. he has a brain, he is physical, and he is a stand up guy.
-
his brain is the size of a walnut and he isn't tough at all pass
-
i want mcilraith
-
Burrish sucks, do not want, he isn't even worth a 4th line role
-
Yeah.. right...
-
ugh stevie just bolted

I feel if Stuey and Kronner were both 100% healthy we could take on the hawks, one of the two woudl either destroy Toews or Kane like Kronner did to havlat last year. They are two of the best hitters in the league, sure Murray can hit harder, but he did nothing to punish any of the blackhawks in their series, Kronner has been know to make series impacting hits that just weren't there this year because of his knee.
