I am starting to feel like this season is more like a continuation of last season rather than a new one all together. We have a lot of the same issues. Shaky defense. Bad power plays. Long scoring droughts. We really need a metaphorical breath of fresh air into this team. Not saying its fire sale time but the roster could use a good shaking up just to spark something.

Wings always seem to preform better when D and Z are split up so I'm all for this.

Would be an awesome addition, but I imagine the price would be too steep.

I agree he played his roll last night. I am happy with him playing 6 minutes a night, starting a fight and providing some energy. What I disagree with are these calls for him to be on the top 2 lines and start getting major ice time at the cost of someone else. What I was trying to say is that if our success depends on Tootoo playing top 2 and 15+ mins a night then we are screwed because it means many of our better and higher payed players aren't getting it done and a major overhaul might be required.

Yeah the problem with that is that it will keep the bad teams down. I think the current draft format works just fine considering there isn't such a heavy emphasis on top draft picks to determine success like there is in the NFL and NBA, mostly due to the fact that the NHL has a very extensive minor league system in which they can groom players and trade prospects freely.

Not trying to say role players are bad or useless. But honestly if our success lives and dies on Jordin Tootoo's ice time I think we are in much bigger trouble than we realize.

I feel Tootoo is nothing more than a role player. And while fighting is cool and all we need hockey players first and foremost, and fighters second. And I think we have better hockey players on the roster than Tootoo that can use the ice time better than him.

This whole third period has been garbage. Wings need to condition some more I guess.

On second thought, I think I've seen enough of Quincey.

Never been a fan of Quincey but it's still too soon to judge. Need a sample size of at least 5 games, though I'd rather prefer 7 to 10.

Wings win 5 to 3. Go into the third down 3 to 2 as well. It wouldn't be the wings if we don't have a heart attack until mid way through the third. Or even worse the comeback tease.

Until we lose another game. Then it's fire sale central.

We can't rush to judgement. It's been one game One. That's not a trend. It might have just been a collective bad night. I"m not saying it for sure was just bad luck and won't happen again. But we cannot conclude that our team is awful and the worst team in the league yet. Lets give them 7-10 games before we start talking about fire sales.

Guys one data point does not make a trend. Wait until we have a few more games to judge the team.
