Well what could he possibly mix it to? Aside from swapping a player on the first and second line I don't think there's much he can do. Also I think he should just roll with three lines. I think exhausted first 3 would still be better than the fourth.

He and Holmstrom must have teamed up. And I bet Huddler and Franzen masterminded it.... despite them both being too lazy to do anything.

Like in 2008? We could go back in a time machine and see the same "WINGS NEED TO GET BIGGER" claims a few weeks before they won the cup. Well I agree Mursak and Emmerton aren't ready yet, and Holmstrom needs to retire, just getting some big guys isn't going to do anything. They need to mesh with the team and we aren't built to be a big throw your muscle around team. So I would rather see them getting replaced by some more well rounded scorers and shooters. But the last thing I want is one dimensional players just because they are big.

You guys know that people have been saying "THE WINGS NEED TO GET BIGGER" and "THE WINGS NEED TO GET FASTER" for decades right? Yes it would be a great think if we could just add size and speed to our team. But EVERYTHING HAS A DRAWBACK. When you add bigger players, they tend to not skate or shoot as well. Why? Because That's just the way nature is. If you had a big fast and super scoring palyer they would hands down dominate the league year in and year out. The same goes with every aspect of the game. Good in one area, lacking in the other. Or you get the rare jack of all trades. But you will never find the ace of all trades because it doesn't exist. That said, it's more important to find a team who can play off each other's strengths, what ever they be, and mitigate their weaknesses, whatever they may be. Synergy.

I don't think it has anything to do with how the team is built. Our roster is loaded with very capable players. The problem is they all seem to be slumping at the same time. Maybe that's chemistry based or maybe it's luck based. I don't know. But when the team WANTS to play they all play their hearts out and dominate. The problem now seems to be getting them to want to play. I think the winning culture here has instilled complacency because "Oh hey we'll try when the playoffs roll around because we always get there". So I think the problem is more of a motivational one rather than a mechanical one. Maybe (just speculating don't get mad at me) Babcock is losing or has lost the team and can't motivate them properly anymore. Or maybe we just need one abysmal season put some fear back into the guys so they know that they can fail if they don't try constantly.

I don't know what upsets me more right now. The fact that the Wings start off like s***, or the comeback tease they do at the end.

No you are correct. Two months ago I and I'm sure most members of this forum would have said that the Wings have a major chance to win the cup this year considering how we are playing. Especially our home play and how we have the number one seed pretty much locked up. Fast foreward to right now and we are on a huge decline and looking at the 4 Seed at best. That means we only have home guaranteed for one series. Realistically two series at most. And looking at our road performance this means we are screwed. I think a lot of people are realizing just how far and how fast the team slipped from being favorites to win the cup to an outside dark horse shot. But hey, I am a huge believer in the "THE POST SEASON IS A BRAND NEW SEASON" theory and once you're in anything can happen. So I guess we should just see where we end up and be ready to give it our all. Metaphorically speaking since I can't be out there on the ice myself.
