I agree 100% percent. I have to mute the sound whenever I watch a game on versus because he just pisses me off. DRIVE! DRIVE! DRIVE!

Landon Ferraro Signs Entry Level Contract
CrimsonFlame replied to detroitsportsman05's topic in General
Anyone else read that as Lando Calrissian at first? -
Osgood did a great job against the preds. I really don't get why everyone hates him when he's still preforming. No he's not old and washed up yet. I've seen atleast two great performances by him this season so far. Seriously? Macdonald is better? What are you guys thinking?

Are hockey hits harder than football hits?
CrimsonFlame replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I don't think fighting is in danger right now. Bettman knows that fighting is the best thing that is unique to hockey and sets it apart from the other sports. You get rid of that, and the league WILL collapse. It will just be soccer on ice with sticks. -

I think your issue is more with the consistency of penalties called, rather than the actual penalties themselves. -

Actually since they outlawed any hits head to head, any hits to a quarterback's lower half (thanks Tom Brady), touching a kicker at all, touching a QB at the moment they released the ball, illegal chop blocks, and much more. Strict, yes. Overused, depends on your personal opinion. -
Brendan Smith nails Nylander from behind

Uhh was this comment even necessary? It has no relevant meaning other than you trying to attack the sport of football and it's players for whatever dumb reason you have against it. Ok so you take two made up stories that are exaggerated WAY beyond reality. Great. Here's a newsflash, football and hockey are two COMPLETELY different sports. That doesn't automatically make either one "*******". Try comparing some apples to apples this time. You're not doing your favorite sport any favors. -

You can skate faster then you can run so the hits should be harder. It doesn't matter who is tougher or who is stronger. Higher velocity means more momentum. -
I like the design. But I absolutely HATE the logo and the color scheme.
-
I kinda like how the colors make it look stone or maybe even metallic. But I'm not a fan of the actual design.

Kenneth Rucker, a.k.a. "Orange Hat Guy", passed away
CrimsonFlame replied to redwingcapt's topic in General
It's like the saying goes. "You never know what you have until you've lost it". It's human nature to take great people for granted. That's why we feel so sad and mourn their death. -
Just looking at two numbers doesn't tell the whole story. Chicago still has some pretty damn good offense, and Osgood made some great saves during that game. You can't just look at numbers. Hockey, and all sports, don't work that way. You need to take a look at the game as a whole.
-
Uhh actually he was pretty damn good against Chicago to start the season off. Or did you forget about that game?
-
You know they mostly do open lines, so you can call in and talk about what you want. If you want them to talk about hockey, call in about the Wings. Otherwise, you can't make them talk about something when other people don't want to.
-
It's funny because Osgood could let in only one goal the entire season and people would still be calling for him to be released.
-
Funny things can happen when you only have a small sample size.

What the Wings didn't win 10 to nothing with no penalties? Everyone hit the panic button! But seriously, it's only been four games, and they looked great in their first two. The Wings could have won their last 10 games in a row, lost their second, and people would start panicking already. They're going to have bad games. That doesn't mean they are a bad team, it means they are human. Wait until January to hit the panic button.
-
One bad game from Osgood and people are calling for him to retire already? One data point does not spot a trend... Also, Howard didn't exactly play sharp either in his last start. Give it more time.
-
This is a great thing. Keep the goalies rotating until one clearly pulls ahead of the other. I want the games to be split like 60/40 or 70/30 by the end of the year between our playoff goalie and the backup. More reps for both players is never a bad thing.

I for one don't think Stafford is very good. He seems incredibly injury prone, a poor decision maker, and pretty arrogant as well. Not the kind of guy you really want as a franchise quarterback. Yeah he can throw far, but throwing smart is much much much more important than throwing far. He tries to force plays that aren't there. Everyone was saying before he was drafted how the Lions are trying to score a homerun pick, but all they are going to get is an average guy. He's nothing special. They were just upset they couldn't get Bradford at the time. It's amazing how the majority of people went from not wanting anything to do with the guy, to all of a sudden saying he is the next Peyton Manning overnight. Shaun Hill should start Sunday. He's more then proved himself. Let alone, Stafford probably isn't fully healed. Why rush him out there against one of the best pass rushes in the NFL? He'll only get reinjured and how nice is that gigantic contract going to look being rehabbed for the remainder of the season instead of just the next two weeks.

I think there's no question about it, that they are about to turn a corner. The question is, which corner are they about to turn? I feel like they have what it takes to put them back into mediocrity, but they are still very very far away from being competitive. They'll soon be back to their 6-10 and 7-9 seasons, but I can't see them actually competing for a playoff spot for another 10 years.

Wisniewski makes obscene gesture towards Avery
CrimsonFlame replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
But the whole point is, it has NOTHING to do with us as a society. The NHL player's code of conduct clearly states that a person cannot act like is. Society didn't write or alter the code of conduct, the NHL wrote it. If you want to argue that a game suspension is too extreme of a punishment, ok. Have that argument. But don't try to pin it on society when society has nothing to do with it. -
Wisniewski makes obscene gesture towards Avery
CrimsonFlame replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
What exactly does him doing an obscene gesture have anything to do with the "extreme right wing morality" as mentioned above? Why are you guys trying to start a political debate where there is none. Here's the facts. He made and obscene gesture that violates the NHL players code of conduct. The league suspended him for it. It has nothing to do with the right wing, or the religious right, or anything of the sort. If you have an issue with not allowing obscene gestures, take it up with the league. And I what Wisniewski did was funny as hell. Almost made me laugh out loud during Cell Bio lecture. -
Pittsburgh at 27. This makes me very happy
