NO way Nashville is going after anyone, the Owners (if he isn't in prison soon) are already complaining they are losing money, they will stay right around the floor. Because, and this logic doesn't make sense to me but it appears to be their logic, if they spend less money they will have more money to not lose. I guess something like that, instead of putting money into the product, what is the word I am looking for...... oh yeah investment, and letting the product draw a fan base to help the team make money! Look at Tampa Rays, couldn't sell out a game even with the Sox or Yanks in town, now every game is a sell out, Carolina on their cup runs, put a winner in the building and that will put asses in the seats. They should have sold and moved this team, however for some reason the BOG or Bettman or the Owners or the Hockey gods, whomever wants this team in Nashville and apparently millionaires are willing to buy the team just to lose money! It is like the JV for owners and GM's hoping to make it to the show!

I really don't think money will have anything to do with his decision, having said that I believe the allure to the Nucks stands between the pipes. Never has a guy won so little and been so acclaimed, not saying it is unworthy or unwarrranted, but this guy has not won anything in the post season (not his fault), has put up really good - not great- numbers in the regular season (again not his fault). You add a guy like Sundin to that team, maybe another top 6 forward and with Luongo in net the thought is that this team should contend. But like you said Sundin seems to be slow playing his hand and making sure he is aware of all the offers and contemplating which team best serves his goals and wants.

But the odds of Naslund taking a pay cut are as good as Stuart doing so, it is a matter of what is more important to him, the difference being Stuart had been part of the team last year, he got first hand experience of the locker room, the guys on and off the ice, he knows how the org is run from an insider's point of view. Naslund may talk to some Swedes on the team and decide it is worth it, or he may see dollars signs and decided which team is "Worth" it!

Remember Val has to accept the offer, and from what I have read online (I know don't trust everything you read on the internet) he wants to stay a wing and the wings want him around. The only thing I don't like about this signing is that it pretty much spells the end of J-Ho in Detroit, either skill wise or personnel wise he just couldn't break the roster (as it appears) and as a native Mainer I was rooting for the former U-Maine goalie. I was really hoping he would be a success and lead the Wings to a couple of cups. But as I have said in other threads I root for the Winged Wheel not the name on the back!

I think some people confuse cheering for the logo on the front for cheering for the name on the back. I will not boo him or wish him harm or that he is a flop, because I am rooting for the winged wheel. However I would not be happy about him being on this team nor do I want him on this team. You are the funny one, 30 goals where in the hell did you get that number, you do realize it is 2008, correct. Did you just wake up from some coma or something, this is not the Todd Bertuzzi of 02-03, the last time he broke the 30 goal plateau. His body won't allow him to be the power forward he once was, his move to the net now involves going around the net, not through the opposition. BTW what is so funny that people would want a big power forward but not a former/once was big power forward.
