I love this Because being an assistant to a moron for 5 years has made him so much smarter than he was.

To be 100% completely honest, yes I forgot about him, must be the fact he plays on such a crappy team, but I remembered Kovie. He is top 10 but I still put him further down than D, Z, Lids, Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, Thornton, I would say he is 8-9 or 10, but yeah I forgot him!!!

The wallpapers designed here are some of the better ones that are out there on the web. They are simple and not busy looking, but they are clean well done and everyone at work likes how cool they look even though most of them have no idea what NHL stands for!!!!!

Just saw this too, this is funny funny s***!!!! http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=Arlx...p&type=lgns

Well if he is such a turnover machine it must show up in his plus/minus right? Or you would have at least 1 or 2 examples of his turnovers leading directly to goals against? Or is it that he is a decent hockey player that from time to time makes mistakes, but since he has been adopted as the LGW whipping boy his mistakes stick out more or make people feel like more a part of the board when they join in the bashing of some one. The guy scores goals and points yet most of the people on this board attribute that to others on the ice with him, yet when Mule tips a pass in from Sammy it is Mule who did everything and Sammy gets lucky. I find it so funny that a team that has had the success the wings have had lately some of the fans on this board act like the wings have had the same amount of success as the kings. Everyone trashes Sammy, fine suggest a replacement that is on the roster who can guarantee you 2g 7a and 9 points because right now there are only 8 wings with more points than the atrocious turnover machine know as sammy and one of them is injured. Oddly enough that is the same amount of people with a better +/- than him, however he and homer are tied so really only 7 are above him.

Please understand that in this post I am not telling you how to post, I am telling you why I post towards you they way I do. I don't think I am better than you or more of a fan than you, as mentioned below I don't know you! I have 0 problem with you, hell I don't even know you. I have a problem with your posts, no you never said 100% that the wings wouldn't win the cup, but your posts obviously inferred that you didn't think they would and the reason for that was Holland. You didn't completely bail like Leftwinger, but you came damn close. And I won't PM you because I don't have an issue with you, I have an issue with your posts, and it is not just you. Any of the other overreactors/realists whatever you want to be called, I post the same way to them. For instance Zion. When he completely freaked out in the middle of a game. He manned up admitted he overreacted and that he was wrong. I don't say crap about his posts any more, he admitted he overreacted. You on the other hand stopped posting on here and then came back as the Stars series appeared to be over posting like you never had any doubts of the team. Seeing as I am on this site almost all day at work, I get to read a lot of threads and posts as well as respond to them, it also gives me ample time to research threads, so if you want to continue to pretend that you never said those things than fine, I will find the threads and post your quotes only instead of doing it with out the name in it like I did in the 3 months later thread I will include your name as a friendly reminder to you of what you thought and typed about Holland and the players. But there is really no need for that, just admit you freaked out and overreacted. And I don't mean you need a thread or a huge post dedicated to, but a sentence like, I guess Holland and co did the right thing by acquiring Stuart (which you thought to be a complete dumb signing) once in a while wouldn't hurt. It is similar to the Roger Clemens deal, had he pulled an Andy Pettite and said I fuct up the world would forgive him. I am not looking for you to say I am right or that I am a hockey god (although it would help, LOL) but, at least admit you pulled a freak job, we all do it. That is the problem with being a die hard fan, often times we overreact to things. For me in a game it is when the other team takes the lead, anything in my apartment that is throwable and not breakable gets chucked around! Again not telling you to post anything, just letting you know why I post like I do towards you!!

Dabura to say you get hyperbolic is a bit of a stretch! You down right were blaming Holland for this team not winning a cup this year, yet at the time the team was #1 in the NHL (still are), #1 defensive team in the league (IMO still are) one of the top 3 offensive teams in the league(still are). Yet because Holland couldn't/didn't land Hossa the season was over. You were not being hyperbolic like most people on here you were overreacting and because NHL 08 lets you make any trade you want you think that translates to the NHL. And not to get to personal but your's like Doc Holiday's hypocrisy knows no bounds. During the trade deadline you were adamant that Holland was a horrible GM, now you say he is the best. Where was all of this he is the best but makes mistakes talk when you were blaming Holland for costing the Wings their shot at the cup before the playoffs had even begun. You don't blame Sammy since when, he was useless and not worth a bag of pucks, now it is managements fault. Please you give the Coaching staff credit for making it work with Holland's guys but blame the coaching staff for playing Sammy where and when they do. So which is it, the coaching staff winning in spite of its players and Org, or is it the players winning in spite of the coach and org, or is it that all three departments of the org are working together. Don't take offense to other posters on here calling you out, because in the heat of the discussion months ago we were all blind or ignorant or homers because we didn't believe that not getting Hossa or Feds was the end of the team. You may be posting civilly now but you weren't doing it that long ago!

Malone wants players to "get their elbows and sticks up"
Opie replied to tazzer82's topic in General
What is wrong with the NHL is lack of respect amongst players for each other, this is one of the major contributing factors!!!! Players like Avery do what they do, with no fear of retribution because if someone does, they will be in the box for 17 mins after the instigator penalty. IF the instigator rule is around in the 80's Probie is just another skater, he couldn't step up and defend his players the way he did, he would have played and average of 5 minutes ATOI a game and averaged nearly 20 PIMS a game! -
I think he has been good all post season!!!! He and Kronwall have been the teams hardest hitters! He and Draper with Cleary form one of the best Defensive lines in the post season! I thought Drake was done after the regular season, I WAS WRONG AND AM AN ASSHAT FOR DOUBTING YOU SIR DRAKE!!!

When was the last time Big George did anything to anyone? He has 4 pims all post season, who has had to answer to George since the playoffs started? -

Malone wants players to "get their elbows and sticks up"
Opie replied to tazzer82's topic in General
I agree 100% I have said in other threads this will be a very well played series and will demonstrate the skill that the NHL players posses. I do however think that this year it is the Wings to lose. Next year the year after, holy s*** look out. Then the pens will have a bunch of guys under 27 with a lot of skill, and the desire that can only come from losing in the SCF, and they will have the experience that comes from being eliminated early in the post season, making it to the SCF (it is a grind mentally and physically), and losing in the SCF. They will be very motivated, very hungry and very talented that is a deadly combination!!!! -
It is a very very safe way to be a fan, when in the middle of the season/post season they defend themselves by saying they're being realistic and those of us that have faith are looking at things through red glasses or are homers. Then if they do lose, said fan can say I knew it all along, you guys were just blind. OR like you said when the team does win they say I knew it all along. On a side note I have really laid off of people who say 'WE" when they talk about the wings, as fans we like to think we are apart of the team, and saying we makes it seem like they were on the ice helping out. We did it, is still my favorite, no you didn't do s*** except drink beer and cheer!!!!!

The Wings are a very hard team to hit, just so that you know!! I have thought that since the Nashville series, but thought if I typed it I would get my head tore off!!! -
Can I ask you what would it take for you to get off of Holland, Sammy, whomever's back! The team is in the SCF and you still find away to work digs in all of the time. If you are so willing to dig at Holland when he has helped take this org to the SCF are you going to be so willing to admit you were wrong if/when the wings win the cup?
-
Because if you are not playing at a ppg level wings fans are not happy. The same reason Hudler, Lebda, Sammy, Cleary, etc. etc. are all bums in the eyes of most of these people.
-
Those of you with this thought process, the conspiracy theorists: IF the wings win the cup will you be back on here to post that the Refs were legit or do you just post like this to have a built in excuse in case the wings lose?
-
Good point NFM, They really need Defensive Defenseman, I am so glad the Wings best offensive D-man is also the best Defensive D-man! LIDS IS THE MAN!!
-
I agree I see some of the Vets really turning it up!!!!!! This is the list of Wings I see playing better than last series: -Dats (I know you are saying How?, he will) -Z (See above answer) -Homer (Had Dats goal counted people wouldn't be saying he needs to step up, they would be talking about his near perfect screens) -Draper (This man is Chuck Norris, D-mac said it best, and I paraphrase, but after Drapes scored with his chin, Darren said Kris doesn't care that he lost teeth or split his lip or tongue, only thing he cares about is that it went in!) -Drake (He smells the cup, I think he can almost feel it on his lips as he takes a sip) -Ralf (not offensively, he will step up by limiting his turnovers and playing monster D, no one on the top 2 lines is big enough to knock him or lids around, they will have a lot of space with the puck) -Kronwall (only because he goes from being an assist machine to scoring 2 pp goals, not sure why I think that I just do) -Cheli (Injured or not he is a proud man, he can not be happy with the mental lapses he made last series) -Cleary (I think he gets it going in game 1, and it feeds him through the rest of the series) I see lines 1 and 3 being damn near unstoppable at their games (that doesn't mean Drake and Draper are going to score as much as D and Z, but they will D the crap out of the 2nd Pens line), the first Pairing will have a lot of time and space due to the Pens lines that will be out their against them. Kronwall will be looking to hit anyone, Stuart will continue to play solid D. The Det 2nd line I am not expecting big things out of, they will more than likely be facing Pit's best defensive line, Lines 1 and 2 for them will be met with Det's 1 and 3 respectively. Thus putting Pit's 3rd against Det's 2nd (at home at least). I really expect the Ds to be the difference in this series, don't get me wrong Gonchar had a great year, but he is not Lids, nor am I really sure he is as good as Ralf, and then there is a steep drop off in talent. I will say the same thing I have said about Turco and ThreeorFour, I think most of the goals scored for Detroit, especially against MAF, will NOT be his fault. They will be back door passes to an open man who shoots before MAF really has a chance to see where the shot is coming from. MAF, Sid, Geni, and the other very young very talented Pens are going to learn a lot this series, not necessarily from the Wings, but by playing the Wings. If the Pens lost in the SCF last year, I would be very very scared to play them this year, not that I don't think they can win, I just don't think they will. But look out for them next season, IF they lose to the Wings you will be looking at an even more motivated group of very young very talented players. They are probably 2 players away from being as good as the Wings, 1 legit top pairing Defensive defenseman and a shut down forward for the third line.

This could be the best SCF match up in a long time or it could be a white washing that catapults PIT to championships in the near future! This very well could be the start of a SCF rivalry, Not that both teams will be there every year, but if the Pens manage to hold on to Hossa and pick up a legit #1 d-man (easier said than done) the Wings get a little younger with some up and coming talent, these two have the opportunity to make it to a couple of more finals in the next 3-5 years depending on personnel moves.

Whether you were trying to offend or not means jack s*** if what you were doing or saying or in this case typing offended. If you don't care what people think of you than fine, but when people call you an ******* for saying things like that don't get upset with them. And I am chill, how can you infer any kind of inflection or meaning from typed words. I love it when people tell others to chill out or calm down, you have no idea if I am wound up over this or just making a statement. But by throwing the words retarded or *** around as an insult to people who are not *** or retarded is insulting and offending to those who are *** or retarded. Much like using words like the N word, it may not mean jack s*** to you and it may not be that you are trying to offend, but the bottom line is you are offending others. And it is your right to post whatever you want here, however there are rules and guidelines and when/if you break those rules or guidelines don't be too surprised when you can not post here anymore. Not that I am a mod and have that control or that I am any way shape or form threatening you, just saying don't be surprised!

The NBA thought the same thing! There is no way refs would bet on games they would lose their jobs if they did! /sarcasm I am not a conspiracy theorist either. I also don't think there is a conspiracy here, I am just mad that it is supposed to be a reward for the officials based off of performance and the most consistent official isn't there. I really hope this isn't a series where we talk about officiating for either sides. IMO the best compliment you can give an official is I didn't even notice you were out there. Not because they didn't make calls, but because the calls were accurate and appropriate so you have no reason to specifically remember an incident they had! Edit: Mad is the wrong word, I guess it bothers me that he isn't there.
-
I really could care less who is officiating but I think it is kind of a slap in the face to McCreary, especially considering this is based off of performance. From what I have seen he is the most consistent Ref in the NHL right now, I would say best, but to me consistency is the most important characteristic in a referee!
