15 minutes to Wapner!!!

I think the biggest problem with Zubov is his partner, when he was great (before his technical prime) he had guys like Matvichuk, Hatcher with him. He has developed into one of the best defenders in the game, one of the best PP qb's in the game, yet he has not had a decent partner in years. Listen Lids is great, but you put a guy like ralf on his other side and he becomes even better, the difference between Lids and Zubov, if you put Lilja next to lids he is still all world, Lilja next to Zubov and his game suffers, he is IMO a offensive defenseman, and if you put a defensive liability on his line he doesn't have another defensive gear to go to, thus elevating his game. He is still a great D-man I am not saying that, but what separates him from the Lids, Neids of the world is their ability to do their job and half of the guy next to them's job!

You have no idea what was said or what wasn't said, you are guessing at what Turco may/could have said and then you are taking that guess and calling him classless. How in the hell do you know whether or not Turco lost with Dignity or did Osgood win with Class. This thread is not about dignity and class it is about fans finding a way to dog on a guy! People looking for a reason to hate on the guy. Turco was disrespectful because after losing his chance to go to the SCF he didn't run up and hug Ozzie with a big smile on his face? What did you expect from the man, odds are his career goal is to win a Stanley cup, he just lost his best chance at it, and you want him to be all over Ozzie's nuts!!

The D's ARE comparable and here is my proof: Lids >>>>>>>>>>>>> any two Pit defenders you can put on the ice Ralf >> Gonchar Kronwall > than all their D men except Gonchar Stuart > see above Cheli > Gill (watch the wings forward fly by this guy, I swear he has cement in his shoes) Lebda < only Gonchar, Orpik, Whitney Lilja = Hal Gill, if Hal Gill was a Red Wing, after he wiped the spooge off of his pants, would be sitting in the press box, no way he cracks this line up! Lilja, Meech, Lebda would all be starting D-men on that team. Letang is highly overrated mainly due to the fact that he scored a couple of really nice SO goals, other than that I see him as a liability, often times he is out of position, and if Dats and Z ever happen to be on the ice the same time as this guy watch Dats keep him on his hip like he does so many other D-men. See I compared the Defenses thus they are comparable! Dallas D is a fair amount better than Pit, not a ton but a significant amount. I would even wager that Col D is better. MAF and the top 2 lines will have to shoulder a very large load in order to beat the wings!! No offense to MAF, he is an up and coming superstar, however the wings just disposed of one of the best Goaltenders in the league, MAF is not at that level yet. If he wins this series he would be vaulted into that class, but I have a hard time seeing that happen through my red glasses!

I wasn't speaking directly towards you, but more people who post things like this: You know the people who think they could do it better than Babs!!!

For those of you that say Dan Cleary sucks, you do not understand the defensive side of the game of hockey!!! Cleary - Draper - Drake has been one of the best defensive line for the playoffs. ZDH gets a lot of credit because they are so high profile, guys that play that great on offense don't usually play the type of d these guys do. CDD has been fantastic, Cleary has been a huge part of one of the best Fore checking lines the wings have iced. This team just made the SCF and people on here still find a way to ***** and moan and Player x sucks. Grow up people, learn to enjoy the ride!!!!!!!! This is some great hockey, Dallas was a desperate team that threw everything they had a Detroit, they won two games, do you know why? And the answer isn't because Det let them, or that Det sucked those games. Dallas has players that get paid too, they have some great talent.

I have an idea, why not let the coach, who just happened to win his first WCF (for the wings) in his second straight trip there and has won 50+ games 3 years in a row and HAS HIS TEAM IN THE SCF, make the calls, or why not have a little faith in him. I have a question for all of you line changers, Babs doubters, whatever you want to call yourself, what more does the man have to do before you show a little faith. You are questioning the lines of a man who just took your (supposed) favorite team to the Stanley cup finals. If the Wings win the cup are you still going to come on here and ***** about Sammy on the PP point, Mac in not Downey, starting benching so and so. Or will you finally shut your traps and stop questioning Babs, you know the one who is actually behind the bench and has a hockey coaching resume that goes beyond Bantums!

Comes in second to a thread about the red wings sucking and going to lose the series to Nas as they were heading into an OT. Remember those who live in glass houses should not throw stones!!! Just because you manned up and admitted it was a mistake doesn't mean you can act like it never happened!

Because the best coach* in the NHL wants him there!! * 50+ wins 3 years in a row, 2 consecutive trips to the WCF, one win from the SCF 2nd year in a row. When your resume looks anything like that call Babcock and tell him what to do with his team. The funny thing is that if Babs walked up to most of you on the streets and asked your opinion, when you were done s***ting your pants you would be so amazed you would forget to bring up your stellar points about how to play the game WITHIN HIS SYSTEM!!!! Sure there are changes we would all like to see, but you all vastly underestimate what Sammy brings to the table, and you trash him just because he is the new Robert Lang, some of you probably don't even know why you are bashing him but it seems to be the in thing so you keep doing it. When the Mule-Flip-Sammy line was together (less than a week ago) it was the best line on the team (as said by one Mike Babcock) and Sammy hasn't made any more or any less mistakes on the PP than he did a week ago, yet it wasn't a problem then! Do you know why it wasn't a problem, because the team was in the midst of 9 games in a row, so there was no opportunity for you to bash anyone with out looking like a complete ass. Now they have lost 1 game out 10, and you guys feel the need to ***** and make line up changes. Again when your resume looks like Babs, I will freely let you all make you line up suggestions and not question them, but coaching mites through the school vacation tourney doesn't count!

I know of a couple of guys that were navy seals, as well as a few others that were college athletes who gained a lot of weight after they were done. Many of them went to the s***ter physically because the constant effort to stay in shape was no longer necessary, and to be in the shape that they were, they had been working out incredibly hard day after day, it became a chore (their words not mine) than a way to stay fit. Thus when they no longer had to stay in that shape, they got slack on working out, it was not fun for them, to them it was a part of their job. Some people carry that work out routine with them, some just let it all hang out!! And BTW those are some nice Mitties you got there Hullie!!

PEOPLE, JESUS CHRIST!!!! He was being sarcastic about the fact that the wings had the series virtually locked down. He didn't mean he actually thought there shouldn't have been a game 4. And here is another story for the news at 10, teams lose games and it has nothing to do with who wore what shirt or what hat, or who has or hasn't washed their boxes this week! We act and think like it does because that helps us be more apart of the game or more apart of the team. NFM, You are fighting a losing battle, respect on these boards comes few and far between.

There are no excuses in Playoff hockey just wins and loses. Should that goal have counted, YES!! Should the Wings lost the game because it didn't count, NO!!! One goal/call can change momentum or the tide, but only if the players let it!

LOL Follow you aound, LOL You probably didn't notice, but I post in just about every thread on this board, so therefore I am bound to run across one or two of your posts. You and I are opinionated people I agree 100%, but I appear to a different measuring stick for whether or not my opinion makes sense or if I am being unrealistic. But if it bothers you that I point out how you bailed on the team when they were in first place because Holland couldn't land Hossa, then I recommend next year at the deadline keep you opinion to yourself, or deal with people calling you out on it! If I were on here saying that Dats was a bust and should be traded for Michael Ryder (I am not saying that BTW) than I would expect everyone to bash me when Dats puts up great numbers. Don't expect to walk away for a couple of weeks and come back and think that no one will remember such gems as this: or my favorite of yours:

Agreed 100% with the bold part!!! They have some good young talent and should be right back in the hunt of things next season, regardless if they come back to win this series or not!
