a few more gems

Man!! Matt you stole my idea, I was just going to wait another round. Posts like these by supposed non-fairweather fans are only making the last 2 rounds that much sweeter! Couple of my favorites: Made while the wings were in 1st in the entire NHL by about 7 games!!!!! This one is a response to Stuart and Fedetenko potentially becoming wings: Enjoy the view!!! From the golf course! Ah beauties!!!

The only problem here is the recovery time from a knee injury like this. It takes about a full year to fully heal from this type of injury, if Kopecky was a seasoned vet with piles of goals or experience behind him he can crack the line up easier. Unfortunately for him, he is a young (rookie basically) player who at the time of his injury was fighting for a roster spot, some one else came in and has done a very good job. Here is where the problem lies for Kopay, next year his knee will not be 100%, therefore his game will not be 100%. Helm will (for right now safe assumption) be 100%. It will be tough for a player with no reputation who is less than 100% to take a spot from a guy who is 100% and whose play is fresher in the mind of the team/org. And remember the Wings are 9-0 with him in the line up much like Ozzie!!!

Great article, Holland and Illitch must have been s***ting bricks. I wish more LGWers had the same opinion of D and Z as Holland though:

Geez people, GMR you and I have gone head to head on many things, but this one from the start I picked up on your sarcasm, how people were saying that you thought the league should hand over the 4th game from what you said blows my mind. And I look for things to call you on! LOL!!

I was thinking about this and it started to make me wonder if Ralf's shot has helped the wings pp. It is a tip-able shot that still has a little umf behind it, but it is much more deflectable by the forwards, where as Schnied's was just a bomb from the point that people got out of the way off. To me the biggest advantage of Ralf over Schnieds is how well he plays with Lids. Lids said this is the most comfortable (I think his words were best, but not sure) he has felt with a D partner since Larry Murphy, now that could be because those are the only 2 right handers he spent a lot of time with, or it could be that they are both highly talented smart hockey players. Either way if Nick feels more comfortable, happier, better, whatever, than that can only make him better than he already is, ha ha ha ha ha ha, Nick Lidstrom play better, I almost spit coffee out my nose as I typed that!!!!!! Is that even possible? I didn't think he could get better than this season, and then the playoffs started and I changed my mind. The top line ZDH-RL is a power play unit even 5-5. The skill and headsy play that they all possess (yes even homer, some think he is a body in front of the net, but watch how often he makes a touch pass to Z or D or Ralf or Lids that helps either restart the offense, or is a great feed to a forward leaving the zone)!!!

The only reason I am not sure on this is that he used the chance to get back to Det as a way to hone his skill and add the Butterfly style to his repertoire. But if he had mediocre (for him ) years with Det you have to think that he would have had better stats than if he had mediocre years in NYI or STL. Just based on the fact he would have been playing for a better overall team, he would then have better stats. Or he could have s*** the bed, who knows!

Next you are going to tell me that the sun will rise and set everyday!! I won't believe it until I see it!!!

Dude you take an ass whooping like that, I guarantee that you would look done to!! I think Sakic should wait a year or two (after he retires) before jumping in, it is hard to go from player to coach in one year, too many of the guys still will think of you as a player. But he has the head and the leadership abilities that are the making of a great NHL coach!!!!
-
Dammit, I thought I had something there, and then you go and prove the problem to still exist. In all seriousness though, you are right having those two right now is a blessing from the Hockey gods!!! Especially when you consider (I know, I know dead horse) how low they were drafted!! LOL so true!!
-
No s*** my 360 got the three lights of failure, Microsoft fixed it (eventually). But I am not sure they could fix it if my Brain got the three lights of DEATH!!!
-
I can't imagine, where would you start, well Dats has great hands, hmm so doesn't Z. Well Z plays great defense, hmm so does dats. Well dats is a great player in both zones, and never gives up on a play, what is that you say same with Z!!! Damn it!! That whole conversation would be going on in my head!!! The only slight advantage I could give to Z would be age!
-
So is this a similar thing to what just happen to Ben Wallace, dizziness headaches related to cold/flu/allergies??????

What is he supposed to say when a reporter asks, No, I want to be an assistant the rest of my life, I have no career goals other than being Babs' little *****! He didn't say on his own he wanted to coach the Avs it would be his dream job, he just said if they asked he would accept. After being prompted by a reporter, he would be dumb to say no, I wouldn't take it!
-
IF the Wings win it all this year he vaults himself to #2 in my book, right now I have him ahead of Bourque behind Harvey and Shore. But if he wins another Norris (Pretty much a shoe in) and is the first Euro to lead his team to the cup (on the way) to me he would be 2nd all time!
-
If you listened to Babs' presser after the game yesterday he pretty much gave all the PK credit to the assistant coaches, so he agrees with you (as do I) that they are a huge part of the success. But so aren't Stevie, Bowman, Nill, Devellano. My point is I guess good for McLellan (he is the one I see getting offers), he obviously deserves it, but it won't hurt the Wings like it did the Pats when teams raided their cupboard, this team is deep on the ice and in the front office/coaching staff.

A good rule of thumb is to remember that when your team is in a comfort zone you try to leave it there, it is the job of the other team to take you out of your comfort zone. Basically Detroit wants to make whomever they play change their game, which would give Detroit the advantage and vice versa. So why would Babs help the competition by taking his team out of the zone they are in. The team could seriously be 12-2 in the post season, Babs made a change yes, when the team was 2-2 and not looking comfortable, now the team appears to be firing on all cylinders, WHY ON EARTH CHANGE THAT?!?!?!?!!??!!?
-
First they have to get there, and then Why on earth are so many of you guys insistent on changing lines, especially when you consider the team is 9-0 with the current line up, the only differences being Mule -Malts due to injury! Don't fix what isn't broken!!!!
-
So GMR doesn't feel alone, when he first came into the league I thought he was covering up his smile, you know trying to be humble.
-
Because the lack of info in the two threads already on the first page weren't a clue that no one knows?
-
2nd year in the league, he will adjust his game given time. Remember when Z and Dats were playoff busts?
-
If I am not mistaken I think it is him pulling out his mouth piece.
-
I bow down, that was damn impressive, the only time I ever heard that name was NHL 98 or whatever year it was!!!!
-
Yes but you are forgetting maxim kuznetsov!!!!
