Holy crap who s*** in your cheerios. Living the dream I hope I never see you post "it is a discussion board and people can post their opinions" because you have lost all right to say that with that post. BTW just because someone may be at work when posting doesn't make this a workplace environment. Case in point how often do you see the word pwned in the business world. However I agree with you, the Avs Wings games were usually about championships and had physical play. If every team the wings played against in a physical game was considered a rivalry every team would be a rivalry because that is how everyone tries to beat the Wings. This Avs team pales in comparison to the Avs teams from the rivalry. But that is what spoils us Wings fans. We are so used to being on top that we forget that like the Avs, even the Ducks rivalry will fade, because most teams can not stay as competitive as the Wings, and can't keep a rivalry strong. Usually the key players leaving or one team remaining elite and the other falling off kills the rivalry.

His pass on the first Z goal setup Z's move on the second. When Meech went hard to the left of Jose and Dats was looking that way, Jose slid out to the post to hopefully beat the puck. If you notice on the first Z goal he stayed in more of a butter fly position and couldn't get to the post quick enough. So on the second one it looked like he was heading over to stack the pads on Meech and Z picked the puck up and with one move left the D and Jose without their Jocks!!!!!!!

I don't care about the number of saves, some of them were very important. He made a couple of big saves with people on the door step, before the wings had the game in hand, and at the time the Avs were running the wings over. Every single wing that touch the puck was getting tore up. Even Cheli said that Ozzie saved their asses in the first period. But why let something like what Cheli thinks impact anyone's thoughts. I mean it is not like the guy has played more NHL games than anyone on this board! Oh wait! Just because the game was a shutout and the 2nd and 3rd periods were completely controlled by the wings doesn't mean that Ozzie making big saves early had any less affect on the wings than when Downey smoked Lappy! Can you imagine what the team would have looked like had Ozzie let one go in early, when he was facing players with the puck on their stick just outside the paint. Listen I understand guys not liking certain players on the team they root for, but it seems like some of you root against the guys on the team. I guess I don't understand what it means to be a fan!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I would have to assume you meant Lilja and Lebda, which makes me think you are just ragging on people because last night with the absence of Lids, Ralf, and Kronwall this team was without its numbers 1, 2, 3 d-men. That is slightly important so I will repeat, they were with out d-men number ONE, TWO, and THREE. Included in that is a one of a kind d-man the likes that have not been seen in decades, one is a perennial all star, and the other is the number 3 (sorry Kronner that was all I could come up with). The d helped Ozzie to a shut out. Did they make mistakes yes, there is only one Nick Lidstrom and even he has been mistake prone lately. But Ozzie saved there asses a couple of times and they helped out. That D is depleted, Meech Played more minutes than he has all year combined (exaggeration) and the team had a shutout, yet you are going to complain that the D sucks. Edit: You didn't say they suck, I inferred that you meant that from their nicknames. I am befuddled by the expectations of some fans! In case you missed it Lilja and Lebda are the number 5-6 d-men when this team is healthy. For them to log big minutes, is like Kopecky trying to fill in for Filpula bad situation for the team, but if the team gets the W, let alone the shut out then the player(s) in bigger roles, A) did their job, B) are not horrible players, they are actually good enough to be in the NHL. Leave the roster configuration and moves to Babs and Holland thank you very much!

I love how he lulls people to sleep with his big lumbering size and then tries a slick little move. He did it on Turco Sunday and a couple of times last night. It was good to see the wings take a little bit of a beating, retaliate and then win the game. Congrats to Ozzie, Dats, Z, Flip, and The Old Man, who played a great game!!

I still don't like the fact his PIMs were that high, because I hate the 10 misconduct!!!!!!!!! Babcock should have Said, hey that isn't your bench anymore, it is Quenville's go make out with your sister, I would! 100% correct, I am surprised he even went with Cleary, not because Danny boy is some heavy weight but he has an edge to him, which I thought would deter Pronger and have him try to tangle with Dats. Some one more Pronger's style!

Umm so what were your thoughts on Darius Kasparitas when he entered the league, or rather when you saw him play because he is listed at the same height as Meech, yes he out weighs Meech but give the get a few years and a dozen or so Donuts.

The days of the Enforcer are not long gone, but unfortunately I think Bettman is trying to make that so, however games like the Edmonton Vancouver game, as an animated Engblom said, so how necessary fighting is to keeping players in line.

While he didn't really do anything to hurt the team, he sure as s*** did slow down some PP's. But I noticed that Cheli had a hard time back there 2 or 3 times with passes from Dats. I think Lids and Ralf are so fluid of passers and puck movers that whenever anyone else is back there with that first unit it looks bad. But Sammy looked like he was trying to hard to be Ralf or Lids, he looked real indecisive on the point to me. He did make some nice plays to hold the puck in the zone though. All in all the team looked much sharper, not saying they would have beat Dallas but the team that played last night (even without Lids) scores on Turco once or twice.

I am one of J-Ho's biggest fans, but I have never rooted so hard for Ozzie to play good as I am right now!!! Right now this team needs Ozzie as he was a couple of weeks ago, en fuego!!!!

Most of the team looks sharper tonight than last night, Flip, Huds, Lilja, Lebda, Cheli has looked great on the blueline a couple of times not including the goal. He held in a couple of tough bouncing pucks, Downey was on the ice for a half second before he was on Lappy and I don't care about the instigator, but best of all Ozzie has looked great!!!!!!!

Let me be the first to say thank you very Fu$%ing much Aaron Downey!!!! Now Sammy, DO SOMETHING!!! ANYTHING!!!!!

I would have to assume you are referring to my post when you say When if you read my post (I know it is long and I did use big words) I said everyone on the team is playing badly, yet some people (Downey, Maltby, etc..) get to skate on the responsibility. Listen, it is hockey, Cleary fought Pronger for Christ's sake, you mean to tell me that Downey couldn't find a single player on the ice to go toe to toe with. When some of you guys told me (specifically) in the pre season that this was exactly what Downey's role was on the team. To bring energy to a flat team and that would result in wins. When I brought up his stats I was told it goes way beyond the stat sheet, he brings energy with his hits and his fights. That if he didn't score he could still turn the game around. I AM NOT BASHING DOWNEY IN THIS THREAD, I was simply pointing out that Downey gets a free pass because he is the coveted enforcer. He as much as Lids, Drake, Dats, Z, ...... (I could list the whole roster but don't want to) are responsible for the recent losses. They are all playing like crap. And seriously Detroit #1 do you really think anyone has complete control over scoring or not, because if any one player really did have control over their ability to score wouldn't we at least see some one who shoots at a 100% ratio. I mean some one out there has to be arrogant enough to say, "Hey why not score on all of my shots." Sammy, Huds, Kopecky, Draper, Maltby, Downey, Flip, Homer, etc. are not Dats and Z and people need to have different standards for their success. Much like you have a different set off standards for Downey, because he plays a different role, you must also have different expectations of Huds and Sammy. But I have multiple times pointed out why Downey should get some off the blame, and even though I have said Sammy and Huds are to blame as well, could you please tell me why it is that Downey is any less responsible for the loss, well besides ice time, which really only explains Sammy!

Horrible players like HUDLER and MEECH. By horrible what exactly do you mean? Do you mean young skilled players who have never been regulars on an NHL team? Yes that they are. Because Webster's has horrible as meaning: Provoking horror. Which don't get me wrong, the Wing's play as of late has been bad, however I would not say it is horrible nor would I say any of the players are horrible. But maybe we have different definitions!

The problem is that this is preventable by a small un-intrusive piece of material. [sarcasm] It is not like they would be asking the guys to wear heated blades, oh you say they tossed that idea around, or make them wear restrictive uniforms that weren't tested to see if they trap moisture. Yeah and then the next night in the frozen final he stopped something like 45 and gave up one goal in a loss!!! He feeds off of more shots, which lately has me wondering if this system is the best for him, but I still want him in the winged wheel!!

Really, it isn't because 2 of the top 3 d-men are out, or that one of the hardest working and hottest wing as of late is out. It is not because the goalie who was struggling and was starting back to form is injured and the guy who was the best statistical goalie in the league is now hit a cold slump and a rookie with 5 starts for the team has to make emergency starts. No none of those things, just that they(notice the term I use, I am not a part of the team) suck? Are you sure of that? I could have sworn they were the best team in hockey two weeks ago, I could have sworn they just lost a game against one of, if not the, hottest team in the league 1-0, on a stoppable shot that led to a rebound to a wide open goal (sorry J-ho I love you, but you should have had the first shot). Man I have to learn how to rewatch Hockey.
