Stuart and Cammalleri would be fine with me, I wanted Cams when he was going to arbitration. Stuart would be a great addition with the Kronwall situation going to IR!

I agree 100% they are not legit 2nd line scorers or threats yet, I know that adds no comfort to a potential SC run. He is young and developing, even Dats was a 3rd liner in his first couple of years. The wings second line is basically a glorified 3rd line. The players on it have 2nd line potential or have attributes that help the 2nd line. To me the biggest worry is Cleary's injury. Because if he was healthy Babs could switch the lines up back to Flip Dats Cleary --> Huds Z Homer get the young guys some confidence again and get them going hopefully. However with Cleary out I think Babs hands are tied.

You guys do remember that this is only his second year in the league, right? While he is not a rookie, he definitely isn't a veteran. There will be growing pains with young players. The will make bigger mistakes than veterans, they will have bigger slumps. All of these things happen to most second year players. He should get better over time. This is the hardest part about being a wings fan, we get so used to the wings winning that when they do slump people freak out. Also everyone (on here not all wings fans) have no patience for players, either perform now or they are trade bait and need to be trade. Is he struggling as of late, obviously, but 3 weeks ago people on here were labeling him untouchable. Now he is disposable. I said it before he and Huds are keepers unless you have a chance to land Hossa or a player of that caliber and who Det knows they can lock up long term. The kids will be fine, and as others noted, Dats and Z weren't exactly superstars when they were in their second year, and Dats really didn't start shooting until this season. -For the poster who said Huds and Flip are no Dats and Z. Well of course not, but I do remember people saying Dats and Z were no Stevie and Shanny. While both are true that does not mean they are not going to be important/impact players on this team. This team doesn't need another D and Z. What they need is a consistent second line. If Flip and Huds develop and become consistent players it will be no big deal that they aren't D and Z, just like it is no biggie that D and Z are not Stevie and Shanny!

That was a beautiful hit!!

One of the major reasons Howard was so successful and highly touted in College was his speed from post to post. His glove, while not the fastest, is pretty quick as well. He is a bigger goalie (not huge) and one of his knocks was that he appears to become smaller in net. He has a ton of patients as well. From what I read on this post (I wasn't able to watch last night either) it seems like he was a little nervous. He is not usually a deep netminder, while he is quick he still usually plays near the top of his crease. (unlike the new UMaine goalie who plays beyond his crease and gets a s*** ton of back door goals scored on him). Heres hoping next year he gets a good chunk of game time behind Ozzie and then can take over the year after with Ozzie backing him up. And heres to hoping livingthedream never changes that avatar!!! just kidding! but seriously wow!

Wow, I guess when he came right back I always thought (and was highly impressed) he was completely over it. Even if it was just mental side affects (lack of better term) I was never sure how he could just jump right back in 2 weeks later. Watching Zednik go limp when he got off the ice, scared me into thinking he might have been dead. Luckily he wasn't/isn't and he should make a full physical recovery. But I, like Clint, worry about a guy like Jokinen he seemed ok when interviewed after the game, but what happens next time he gets up ended. Is he looking behind him instead of watching his landing. Can he play full out. I mean obviously there was 0 intent to hurt anyone. But he can't help but feel guilty and some responsibility (even though he is 100% not at fault here), human nature makes you feel bad about this. Everyone involved I feel sorry for.

http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=47869 because that one and the other 45 trade threads weren't enough!

I only seeing Stoll going to a team that A) nevermind I was being an asshat!!! B) is willing to send a lot back to EDM Neither of those categories do I see Det falling into. I think Holland will hold onto pieces like Huds, Flip, Lils, and Lebda. While I wouldn't mind seeing him trade Huds or Lils for a major piece (Hossa ie) Stoll is not that major of a piece and I think EDM would be dumb not to ask for Huds or Flip in return as they are more likely to be a cheaper option for EDM, who will probably look to make another splash in the RFA or UFA market.

I have no problem with Dom and Ozzie next season, if it is handled like this season. This has proven to be the best option for the team. Allowing Dom to have his typical early season struggles and get Ozzie some ice time to get in a groove. I also think it would give J-ho another year to develop, as much as a J-ho supporter I have been and I do want him to be in the net for the Wings for a long time to come, goalies have a habit of developing later than other players. Another year would not hurt, I just don't want to see them give up on him, or him give up hope on making the team. But if he sits there for too long it could be like a Liv situation where I think mentally he was broken down because he never got a shot, nor a real opportunity to make the team. Every time their was a need for a goaltender the wings looked outside first (not knocking the process) and brought in a highly paid netminder. Another year for J-ho couldn't hurt and if Dom doesn't return, then you have Ozzie and J-ho next year and possibly J-ho and Ozzie to follow the season after. (first name starter second back up)

Another Concussion after the game last night! http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AtOk...p&type=lgns This could be very bad news for him. I hope this is not what happens to Bergereon, but both of these guys could be headed to Lindros territory especially Gagne 3 in 3.5 months that is scary!!

Watching the ESPNews coverage on my lunch break brought up two questions in my mind: 1) Why did they not follow the Jiri Fischer example and stop the game? Was it because of the time left in the game? Last meeting of the two? 2) Does OSHA have any jurisdiction here? After all this is their work environment. Every time they are out there, regardless of it being a game, that is there job, they are at work. Does OSHA have the ability to say "Players must do X or it is not a safe work environment." They make construction workers wear hard hats, is it really any different?

Not sure all I know is what was in the link, if anyone else knows what happened it would be nice to know.

Listen if Joe Thornton is tradeable for Brad Stuart, Marco Sturm, and Wayne Primeau, what makes you think Ken Holland would say no to Atlanta if they said Cleary and Ericsson gets you Hossa. Will that happen not likely, could it happen yes. So to say that there is a 0% chance of him being traded or that it is non sense, is being blinded by your allegiance to the Wings. Dan Cleary may be saying this so he doesn't have to worry about being public enemy #1. Tell me you have never heard a player say they want nothing more than to stay in city X, then in a month or two head over to another team for more money, and sometimes less money more ice time, or an extra letter on their jersey.

Two more: Overrated overpaid

A question for those much wiser than I, in hockey is the playoff roster set at the beginning and doesn't change (besides scratches and what not) or is it like Baseball where you can change it every round?
-
He takes a penalty every third minute????????!!! You must have meant shift, but then again, Every third shift????!!!! Almost constantly on the PK???!!!! Can I see some stats to back these claims of objectivity up?
-
Gotcha I agree 100% that was what I was thinking cleary for hossa I could live with, but I would like to have what he brings to the table in the post season.
-
So what has he done to you, your dog, your g/f that makes him such a non-classy guy. Does he dive, yes, did he play for the hated avs, yes. Other than that what makes him such a classless person. Just asking you brought it up, I have nothing that says he is a great person nor a horrible person, so to me he is just another person. I don't know maybe it is me, maybe I should wish hateful things on people that I do not know nor have I ever had contact with because I don't like the team he played for or that he was partly responsible for beating my team in the WCF!!! Because the guy is not a fan favorite some one should wish him physical harm, career ending physical harm at that. If this was Z, you all would be on here singing his praises about how hard he is working to get back on the ice, but the difference is who you like and don't like! Which is your preference, not knocking it.
-
I think Pettinger would do well on the 3rd line here, he is a worker and we all know that Drapes is a worker too. But then again he could turn out to be crap, but I wouldn't mind seeing that done.
-
Well first off thanks for calling it humorous! But that was the point I wasn't trying to say that those were the reasons just trying to be funny.

Sweet Mad dingo those lines will look great next year when Brunnstrom is able to play!

OH I don't have a problem with his name, others do. Names of former players doesn't really bother me, well except Ulfie boy but that was his style I hated (What he did to Cam and others) not so much the fact that he had the Audacity to once have been a wing. HOW DARE SAMMY, what he must think every day he puts that sweater on,
-
UH OH! now you did it, you brought up Uwe Krupp. Look out, some people have aneurysm at the mere mention of his name.
-
Well yeah it is the WWF you can't use your real name!!!
