Hey that would work for both player and team, at the end of the year re-evaluate, same rules as this season. However, if Hossa does that he deserves even more credit than he should have gotten for the contract last off season. This guy would be leaving a total of 6+ on the table in 2 seasons!

I don't think he is questioning Feds heart, I think he is flat out stating Feds had heart sometimes and sometimes he didn't. It is pretty much a fact at this point in time.

I actually think the Hossa signing for one year in Detroit hurts your argument here, I think it proves players will do almost anything to come to Detroit. I think if Detroit could afford something with a ~6 mil he would stay and that is still a tremendous discount for a player of Hossa's skill set. However I could not agree with you more when it comes to Hossa taking 4 to play in Detroit, I can not see a player taking a 50% discount to go to the Wings, people may say hey what is 4 mil when you have millions, when you are getting paid 50% of your worth that is a steep pay cut. I wish Hossa nothing but success (unless against the Wings) and have not one bad word to say about him, would I liked to have seen more out of him in the scf, sure but I can say that about 20 some odd players. But to say he is less of a person because he won't take a 50% pay cut is absurd. I really believe he wants to stay, I am not sure if the Mule signing was a sign of things to come (as others brought up). I think he would love to remain a wing his whole career, but he really does have to think about his kids and family, that is leaving a lot of money on the table for a long term, that is not leaving a lot of money on the table for one year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Kenny use this more often, the one year try at a guy in his prime to get that guy a shot at the cup. I mean if the team continues to be this consistently good year after year, then of course a player has a great shot at the cup in Detroit. s*** they could do it with Sundin (I am just throwing the name out there)!

Especially considering he was facing like 50+ shots a game in the frozen four. I love me some Umaine Hockey and want to see a goalie start in the NHL, when was the last one, Garth Snow? I have high hopes for the kid just because I am a fan of his and he is now on the Wings, double win win! He does have some great skills, I just hope the rise to the level in the NHL!

One team showed up for 60 minutes (the Pens) and played with a ton of heart. One team showed up with a s*** load of heart for the last 10 minutes. If Detroit comes out in game 7 like they did last night, series over Pens win on the road 4-1! Detroit can not come out that flat in a SC clinching game, just can not do it. The Pens are amped up, Scuderi, I am not sure what to say except Scuderi! What on earth can you say about the way he and Orpik played last night, seriously anyone that can come up with words to describe the way they played I would love to learn new words! Detroit needs to refocus and come out and match the Pens intensity. Dats, Z, Flip, Hud, and Ozzie were the only wings I saw show up last night for the whole game. And even then Dats look to coast a little. SAMMY HAS TO RUN KENNEDY! On that second goal he has to put him through the glass, destroy him, not turn his head and try to sweep for the puck. The team as a whole was flat and very very unimpressive, they looked like they just got whooped 5-0 not the other way around. Oh well I called Wings in 7 from the start (no team losing at home) and I have faith the boys will reload for game 7 at home and the Joe crowd will get them going!

Gotta appologize to all of the Pens fans for my comments Yesterday. I had no clue the Wings would not show up and not care for all of 2.5 Periods. That was game 4 all over again with a slightly different outcome because OZ was the MAN!

He sounds a lot like Babs, you know the "They are a very good team", "We played better as the game went along". He refused to bite on the questions that would either put blame on his players or down play the Wings. He seems like a very heady guy, good line changes on the road, mixing up his lines. This guy will be a good coach from what I've seen. I would much rather hate the opposing teams coach, Like Q, Carlylye, Hitchcock (whom is a great coach), Therrien, those guys I can hate behind the visitors bench. This guy I like!

True and if they are too aggressive they are screwed. Like the overly aggressive Hawks! Honestly dance with the Girl that brought you. You can not change your strategy in the SCF especially in Game 6. Your strategy got you to game 6, it is not a 3-0 series it is game 6 you only get to game 6 one way 3-2. You are back home, you can not totally change a major part of your game. They have to find a way to defend the Wings, and that would be a shutdown fourth line, otherwise Dats and Z wil contain Malkin and Crosby and you have no one to put on Mule and Franzen. Not that they have a forward line that defensively can shut down Fil Mule and Hossa. The only hope is that their line is Offensively talented enough to keep the puck away. Dats healthy changes everything, I think Bylsma has to use home ice to counteract the lift the Wings just got. That is the only hope, that his team finds an extra gear, out heart them right now, stick to our guns but out work them, be first to the puck. At this point in the season the strategy is so ingrained it would do more harm than good to change you game plan. Just get them to work harder, if they can't then the results will show that. If every single Penguin player plays the best game of their life tonight and they lose, they gave it their best. If they do that and win they know they can do it again. Change you strategy and if the changes are too much for the players or expose a greater weakness after one period the game will have been lost. Now you have to change your strategy again, and the players have just witness the beauty of your strategy changes. There is no shame in losing especially if you leave it all on the ice!
