No I don't that is why you are around, to keep me under wraps! LOL!!
-
Didn't they just trade for Zherdev this past offseason, why on earth would they get rid of him? He has only played 2 games with them?
-
Too bad Olympia Sports isn't a big enough commercial name, because that would work perfectly!!!

That would be like Yzerman complaining about ice time, not going to happen. Mike Modano was a North Star he was/is the face of that Org, he has known no other team. If he came out ripping the org because he is no longer the 'C', then it looks like he shouldn't have worn the 'C' to begin with, because he was not team oriented. As the article I posted states very very rarely do you ever see this done because it looks like the Org has lost all faith in the guy, this may have been the right move for the future but a disrespectful one. Think of it this way, at the start of the season the Wings take the ice and Lids is an A again and Z has the C on. Would that seem right, granted Z is for all intents and purposes the future C, but what good does it do you to give it to him now, what harm is caused by waiting until the C retires. Weigh that against what harm is caused by stripping the C from the face of your Org.

He is also not playing an offensive role, he is going to be on a checking/grind line. Helm and Leino will be playing top minutes in GR and with the Wings will be playing a different role than Kopecky. Helm may play a similar role but he has a lot of offensive potential.

Who was that wise man I wonder? hmmm he must be a logical thinker that poster!
-
He led the team in hits? Is young and has an upside? Babcock saw something in him last year before the injury? His is Hossa's BFF? I love Lamp?
-
Pile all 5 players on the ice in the net so that there are no puck sized holes for it to go through? Maybe?
-
Read the above post, then let it soak in, read it again, and realize he is 100% correct. Z is now being put in a spot where arguably one of the top 5 players in the league will be playing all game against other team's second or even third defensive units. Are you as a coach going to focus more on MZH or HDH, Zetterberg will have great success this year, just not as many goals as some think, he will have a career mark in assists I think. This is great strategy by Babs, Lids, Ralf, Homer, Hossa and Dats will grab so much defensive attention that Z will feel like a free man!!! He will have great responsible D behind him with Kronwall, who can Launch from the blue line. (not like Schneids but a good shot) Sammy who can shoot from there (say what you want about the quality of the shot), Mule and Hudler showed they can be a threat on the PP last season.
-
Solid decision, this will help the team a lot, the lines will work together in almost all situations developing chemistry. Line changes after pp's will be a little easier with the only line that would get messed with a little is the Sammy Flip Cleary line. BTW I am really expecting a big year out of these three, Flip and Sammy played well together on the second line last year, Cleary is a good offensive player with a really good all around game, yet he has been on a defensive line most of last season. This line will be facing other teams 3rd and 4th lines, and these are all top 6 forwards on any other team in the league!

You remember incorrectly, remember Modo's woman running her mouth about how disrespectful that was! Dallas Star News

I can tell you that the Authentic Jerseys I got ran true to normal American fit, however the two that were replicas were definitely smaller than Adult XL, the KG jersey being closer to a med than xl and renaldo probably being a large. But the Cheli Jerseys from the pics look like Authenitcs.
-
See this is why I go to this board everyday!!!!!

Just got my non-Red Wings Jersey's in, I canceled the Cheli jersey. Dice K and Lawrence Maroney Jerseys are sick, definitely authentic material and stitched lettering, they are Authentic Jerseys not replicas, I can not stress that enough. I was happy with the price when I thought I was getting replicas, this is even better! The Kevin Garnett Jersey is a little small for me and Iron on (should have gone xxl, my bad), but I can give it to my gf (hell it only cost me 11$), the Renaldo Jersey is missing the number and name ($8), was a tight fit but I have two other shirts on currently so it would probably fit with a T-shirt underneath or by itself, or if I stopped drinking so much beer, not happening. Also Renaldo is probably headed out of Man U so it is probably better that way! I can not repeat it enough times the Dice K and Maroney Shirts are ill, sick, the bomb, the cats meow, the s***, dope, sweet, phat, unreal, stupid, off da hook, SCHAWEEET, whatever you want to call them they are ******* AWESOME. They have stitched lettering just absolutely sweet! I will post pics when I get home from work. I actually thought about trying to return or put up a stink about the KG and Renaldo Jerseys, but the two Jerseys that were high quality would have easily cost me over $300 through NFL or MLB, I got an Iron on Pedroia all star jersey from MLB.com that cost me $100. While I was pissed about the Z Jersey and the way they handled the exchange of players, which had me very pissed and (I actually requested this order canceled too late) I had a negative vibe going into this whole ordeal and my expectations where low and I was already to beef with them about this, I really is super stoked about these Jerseys, and maybe I can get a BJ for the Garnett jersey.

I liked this one too: You can almost sense that McKeon is a leafs fan and is completely heartbroken by this!!!! Or maybe an Avs fan!

Now I know it is no big deal and was the last preseason game of the year, but they just lost to their AHL affiliate and that made me chuckle. http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylt=AoRW...p&type=lgns

O'Sullivan is legit folks, I watched him in Manchester, this kid is legit!!!! I know it was only in the AHL but 39 points in 41 games and 17 points in 16 postseason games in 06-07. He can score, he can pass, skates very well, going to be a very very good player for the kings, not Kopitar, YET, but very good.

Impact the psyche, IMPACT THE PSYCHE, what did Homer do on his very next shift, if not the very next shift one relatively quickly, after the Pronger hit?
-
Hey we agree on something!!!!! I researched this better last night and found that this is the correct answer, yes they can not be sent down but I was claiming they counted against the roster and was wrong, they cannot be send down, but you are right they do not count against the roster. Meech and Quincey are indeed holding those spots and with the impending trade of Quincey one would have to figure he is holding the spot that will be either Mac or Downey.

My answers are bolded: Point 5 Agree or disagree but what Wing Player was hurt or injured or even knicked up enough by a hit from the other team that cost the Wings the cup that year. Because they didn't win it a year they didn't have an enforcer doesn't mean the lack of enforcer caused them to lose. Otherwise Philly would win every year and they can barely make the playoffs. Everyone assumes the Wings got beat because they got pushed around, but I saw a Calgary team try to push the Wings around even stooping to having the backup netminder take swipes at players, how far did they go in the post season that year?
-
Agree 100% I have stated it many times this offseason, DOWNEY IS THE PERFECT FIGHTER FOR THE WINGS! He has no problem with the part-time role, going through waivers, playing in the AHL if he has to, he has the perfect team first attitude. Less than a year ago I (wrongly) thought that Downey was a wasted roster spot, I ate crow for that. But right now as of today the wings can only carry 20 players, because 3 are on IR and cannot be moved down, that leaves 12 forwards, 6 D-men and 2 goalies. The Wings do not need Aaron Downey to win, but he sure as hell helps them in the lockerroom, on the bench, great attitude, but if you can replace him with someone who can do more than punch a tomato can, and you are not afraid that the other team is going to be dirty Downey can be in the press box. BTW great Mayor reference, I love the fact he is on the Red Sox, not for his play but because he is getting a shot at the WS, if any one deserves a championship Sean Casey does, he is the Dallas Drake of the Red Wings for me this year!
-
Here it goes, I can't promise enlightenment, you have to be willing to accept it What happened all the years the Wings didn't win the cup, do you honestly expect them to win it every year in a league with a salary cap, seriously, really? And yes I believe the media spear headed by guys like Cherry called the Wings soft for the simple reason that they are the most Euro based team and that scares them, threatens them, whatever term you want. Hell look at this year, Cherry still couldn't say anything good about Dats, when he did talk about him it was mocking him, so yes the media made up the soft tag. They may not be fighter heavy or fight very often but this team is not soft, baseball teams are soft, basketball teams are soft (for the most part)! Please show me where I said Downey or Drake hurt the team, I would really like to see where that is, I will then go back and edit that post to apologize. What I said was that people need to relax, because he was sent to the AHL doesn't mean he is never going to skate for the Wings or that he was traded, due to Waiver and IR concerns Holland has to be very careful with how he moves players right now. Lets talk about the 06-07 season though, seeing as you brought it up, so the wings got Smacked by Calgary and Anaheim, really are you trying to tell me that Kronwall and Schneids injuries were due to be smacked around, really because Calgary smacking around the Wings did what for them in the post season. Oh wait but surely you are talking about getting smacked around in the regular season because bringing up a guy like Downey you are surely not talking post season. So lets look at the numbers 06-07 Wins 53 Losses 22 Points 113 Finished tied for first in the league with Buffalo, lost the tie breaker which was goals for. 05-06 Wins 58 Losses 16 Points 124 Ran away with the president's trophy. 07-08 Wins 54 Losses 21 Points 115 To take the pres trophy by 7 points. So what was your point again about Downey helping the team win? I am not saying he is not a great lockerroom guy, I am not saying he should be washing cars or working on his parents farm. Downey has no impact what so ever on the post season, and I don't want to here the BS about the Ducks beat up the Wings to beat the Wings. 2 of the top 4 (I would say top 3, but being generous) D men were out of the line up, they both also happened to be huge pieces to the PP, which sucked ass against the Ducks. Calgary tried to Smack the Wings around and it didn't do them any good, same with San Jose. The Wings were seconds away from taking a commanding lead in the series when the 5-3 pp s*** the bed, and then a bad bounce off of Lids stick (not an excuse the Wings have won by bad bounces and lost by them, part of playoffs is luck) and a give away later the Ducks are rolling. Any other questions?
