WTF! NBC is not broadcasting the game in my area, Virginia. Instead they are showing a 700 club fund raiser for Haiti. One of the few times i get to see the Wings in HD and the corksuckers (NBC) preempt it.

In the Hampton Roads area as well. Do you catch any of the Nofolk Admirals games? Originally from Flint so I have been a Red wings fan for a long time. Still have a lot of family in Michigan. Need to make a trip up to see the Wings at the Joe before it is gone.

I am not liking center ice due to no HD content is available in my area. Some $hit about bandwidth and keeping it affordable. Free feeds are nice but quality is not good. If the NHL shutdown the free feeds would most likey just stream radio. To get HD quality video i am thinking about setting up a slingbox at my parents house in michigan and watch FS-D here in Virginia.

When i lived in Michigan never, couldn't afford tickets. Lived in Florida for a couple years, 20 minutes from where the Panthers play 6-10 games a year plus anytime the wings were in town. Highlight was last year game 2 SCF at JLA. Airfare and tickets put a hurting on the CC but it was worth it. Last couple years have been a STH for an AHL team and loving it. I can watch an entire season of AHL for less than my SCF ticket cost = much more money for beer!

Everyone calm the F down, this is way early in the season to be running around with the sky it falling. Things will work out and we will see playoff hockey again this year.

Wings fans should used to it by now. The Wings always seem to have one bad game a series. As long as that bad game is on the road i can live with it. Remember all they have to do is win all their home games and we're GOOD. Lets hope the wings are in the Pens head just like they got the Hawks to do dumb things. Put us on the PP and see what happens.

I think the biggest issue for the casual fan is not understanding the game. It is up to us as hockey fans to try to get people to games so they can see firsthand how fast and exciting hockey is. For the longest time i could not get my girlfriend to watch hockey that changed after i talked her into going to a game. It really helped that it was a high scoring game! Really got the crowd going and she got wrapped up in the energy and excitement from them. Now she wants to go to the games if i go and will even watch it on TV with me sometimes. example Baseball - "No hitter": most people understanding the game so when a pitcher throw a no hitter even the casual fan can appreciate the accomplishment. Hockey - "Shutout": Just as great an accomplishment as the "No Hitter" but the casual fans don't understand or appreciate the effort it takes. All the casual fan understands it goals. So when none are scored they get bored. Same for a low scoring defensive battles. Quote from a conversation i over heard when watching hockey in a bar. "Why the hell are people watch hockey. Why waste 3 hours when you can watch highlights the next day and see all good stuff."

About damn time. NHL should just tell NBC to F off!
