You stole my thought with that last line there, he definitely seems like he's trying to redeem himself with a second chance in Detroit. I was excited when we got him in the offseason because he is a big body with some pretty decent hands and good skill, it's just a matter if he can apply himself and get past his demons that haunt him from years prior, IMO. Last night was what I knew Bertuzzi could accomplish, and it was awesome watching him do it.

I sadly have to agree with this, despite how big of a Helm fanboy I am, the guy is truly inspiring, but he can't finish for s***, and that's really what gets you on the top lines.

Bert is playing exactly like I figured he would when we first signed him and everyone was all butthurt, glad to see him thriving, soon enough goals will come. I can see Babcock keeping him on the top 2 lines for the time being with Flip and Johan out for an extended period of time, I think the role will work well for him.

I lived on a FOB and we only got 1 meal a day and no internet, I lived off Pringles, basically. We pushed out 3-5 patrols a day, kicked our asses. I think during my 7 month deployment I saw about 5 minutes of hockey :/

Good luck, man. I know how it goes, I missed the 2006-2007 season ENTIRELY because I was in Iraq :/ I saw maybe 3 minutes of hockey my entire time there
