Answer this honestly: If you were on a playground picking teams as one of the captains, and you had those players you mentioned to choose from, you'd honestly pick Holmstrom over Cleary and Bertuzzi over Leino? HELL NO for me. Cleary is a machine. That guy is a great linemate for anyone. Fast, tough, corners, net, defense. He's a great player. Leino is soft right now, but he's got more upside than Bertuzzi and Holmstrom. I really think that Holmstrom playing so much 5 on 5 play is the cause of most of Datsyuk's, and the Red Wings for that matter, problems. Once they remove him from Pavel's line, Pavel will flourish again.

NO on the soccer jerseys. Soccer jerseys are usually one size too small. I was giving a comparison to an American T-Shirt or jacket size. Soccer jerseys are one size under that, or sometimes 1 and 1/2 to 2. You get an XL soccer jersey if you wear a large American T-shirt. I ordered an Italy soccer jersey in 94 and got it in XL because that's what I wear. When I put it on, my nipples were making indentations in the jersey and my biceps and neck were stretching the holes horribly. I guess soccer jerseys are made for Euros wearing their clothes tight.

I don't hate Olympic Hockey. I'm just not into the olympics with pros in it. It's like a prolonged NHL all star game. There's a little more passion and intensity than the all star game, but not even close to that of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Yah, I get that. I just can't see why Datsyuk's struggles are such a mystery to everyone. It's not like Datsyuk aged 10 years all of the sudden. Pavel just needs some speed and grit (Abdelkader/Helm) up with him so he can have some room to operate. Zetterberg would open up some room for Pavel too, but why only have one good line when you could have two? Holmstrom has been given his golden parachute already. It's time for Babcock to recognize his decline and use him only where he's useful = power play net guy. In other news, the Red Wings are one point out of 8th place in the conference WITH a game in hand on the Yotes. 7 points behind the 2nd place blackhawks. I can't believe people started speculating on here about missing the playoffs. I won't lie and say I have been calm through this horrible start (Red Wings standards, of course), but I never started thinking they were in danger of missing the playoffs. That's just silly.
