I'd get Ericsson or Abdelkader. Those jerseys are pretty sweet.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_J._Selke_Trophy Anyone who gets on Pavel's case is just plain braindead. That's all there is to it. Put your fist up in the air, close your eyes, and yell "Homerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!" as loud as you want to. But don't get on Pavel's case. He's got the hardware to back up his worth.

You guys are only talking about the hockey, too. Anyone who's ever been to San Diego or Laguna Niguel and Russia will tell you there are more differences than hockey that favor America.
-
If the Red Wings resign Holmstrom, Pasha will know how it feels to be snake bit longer.
-
I think we should get Abdelkader with Filppula and Franzen when he comes back. Cleary-Zetterberg-Leino Abdelkader-Filppula-Franzen Helm-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Williams-Draper-(Zetterberg/Filppula/Datsyuk rotation during 5 on 5 play, Holmstrom on PP1 and when we're up big)
-
And the best thing is that I actually like Tomas Holmstrom and actually believe he is useful to the Wings in one regard.

I just can't wait til February when we're in 2nd or 3rd place in the conference and everyone's talking about what we need to do to catch the Blackhawks and Sharks instead of what we need to do to finish in the playoffs. If it was the 2nd to the last week of the year, I'd be worried. I'm not saying that the Wings should act like they can cruise or coast. I'm just saying that the regular season is not what counts. They need to get in. And when they do get in, it's what they do in the post season that counts. We should all know this. But some of us forget a little bit easier than the rest. Watching the 95 and 96 teams absolutely destroy everybody during the regular season only to get beat down in the post season taught me that lesson all too well.
-
Careful. You can get banned around here for saying such things. Tomas Holmstrom is the Red Wings' version of Gretzky.
-
A FREAKING MEN! Finally, someone calling for all 3 of our BEST players on the same line together at some point in the game. Holmstrom is a fricking crutch to Datsyuk. Get some speed, skill, and physical play up there with #13 and watch what happens to him. Oh wait, we know the answer to that. Selke and Hart candidate. It's time that the coach give Datsyuk the linemates he deserves. I don't think we need to put Z,Cleary, and Datsyuk together all the time, but it wouldn't hurt to see it for 5 minutes a game. The other times, roll these lines: Helm-Datsyuk-Abdelkader Cleary-Zetterberg-Leino JUST TRY IT, BABCOCK.
-
Yah, I haven't learned how to blame Datsyuk for the troubles the Wings are having yet. Sorry.
-
AT LEAST people are starting to stop posting ZDH everywhere and isisting that Holmstrom play on the top line. I can at least live with that. Cleary-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi Helm-Datsyuk-Abdelkader Tatar-Draper-Leino Holmstrom-Eaves-Maltby (Extremely limited ice time)
-
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Tomas Holmstrom is killing Pavel Datsyuk. GET 96 OFF OF 13's LINE NOW, BABCOCK.
-
Especially considering the Wings have a winning record!! Normally at the end of the year, winning record teams get in. I agree with you CWN. It's way too early to throw in the towel.
-
I wish the NHL played on olympic sized rinks. The game would get faster and more skillful.
-
0 points for Homer in the last 5 games. Just thought I'd point that out. Perhaps Babs should try SEPARATING DATSYUK and HOLMSTROM? Seeing as how they haven't had a good game together in, oh, 50 games or so.
-
Exactly. I'd love to see Datysuk play with Abdelkader and Helm. Put some speed on Datsyuk's line. Holmstrom and Bertuzzi could run faster than they can skate.
-
!!! That's kind of like saying, we could make pizzas, but we don't have any dough, sauce, or cheese, isn't it? !! Scoring isn't our problem. Goaltending isn't our problem. And the defense has been ok. As soon as Babcock get Holmstrom off Datsyuk's line and puts Helm up there, you'll see a lot of problems go away. Helm-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Cleary-Zetterberg-Leino That should be how are top 2 lines look.
-
Don't worry. You won't hear any more complaints about Holmstrom from me. You get banned for a month around here if you express your dislike for a Red Wing 2 years past his usefullness. Holmstrom's the best. We'll have to just keep searching for the reason Datsyuk has gone from Hart trophy candidate to a big question mark. It has nothing to do with Holmstrom. That's for sure. Holmstrom just oozes awesomeness for any linemate on his line. It's a guarantee you're going to be close to 100 pts with Holmstrom on your line. Funny how Z doesn't seem to be struggling. Perhaps Tomas Holmstrom is really playing on Zetterberg's line in Cleary's jersey and we're just not looking close enough to catch it?

Sounds like that guy being a jerk is the best thing that ever happened to that kid. Damn, I want to have someone elbow me out of the way for a foul ball.

I'm always suspect of these things with foreign players. There's a high likelihood that the translation has been misinterpreted. Sergei says something in Russian that, when translated by someone fluent in Russian as a first language and not biased, translates into: I have deep respect for the organization, but things just weren't perfect there. We argued at times over the direction of our team, and that probably hurt us a little bit more than if we had better chemistry like on the national team." Then some other reporter fluent in english as a first language, decent in Russian as a second language, and wanting to create a stir for his own benefit, translates the article into: "Fedorov unhappy with Red Wings. Says 'they screwed me.'" And many posters have set it best = This time period is OVER.

That drunk guy was looking for the 4th star of the night!
-
Rypien for Holmstrom?
-
Tootoo would tear this guy a new *******. This guy is a lightweight (175 lbs.) and Tootoo is a middleweight (205 lbs). Rypien looks good against all the other scrubs he's fighting, but as soon as he runs into someone heavier, lights out.
