I like it because Abdelkader and Williams aren't really threats to score 5 on 5 either. I'd rather see those guys bang around out there and try and punish people instead of trying to score.
-
Hell yah. That guy is awesome.

Lemieux Neely Shanahan Robitaille MacInnis

This is a joke. This would be like me saying that you guys said Holmstrom is better than Ovechkin. Give the rids a rest already. I said that Holmstrom SUCKS during 5 on 5 play. That's what I said. Nothing else. He's worthless to the Wings even strength and only brings our skilled players down.
-
ha ha ha! This is funny. But I don't know why I can't cheer for Holmstrom when he's used properly (power play) and get pissed when he's used improperly and hurting the team (5 on 5).
-
Lidstrom and Osgood to the Devils for Brodeur.
-
I won't ever have to do this with Tomas Holmstrom. That's just not going to happen. He's already been demoted to the third line 5 on 5, and he's still up to his crappy 5 on 5 play. Now he'll just give Abdelkader Holmstromeningitis instead of giving it to Datsyuk and Zetterberg. And since Abdelkader is more about just going out there and banging into people, it really shouldn't effect him as much. Holmstrom is so bad 5 on 5. You know how you can kind of sense when a goal is coming for the other team because of all the cycling they're doing and all the chasing our defensemen are doing? Instead of focusing on the puck down low and the players rushing to the net for scoring opportunities against Osgood, take a look at who's camping out 50 feet in front of the Red Wings' net looking for an outlet pass INSTEAD of playing defense. YEP. Ninety-Sux is who you will see every time. Did you guys notice Bert's focus on getting back for DEFENSE tonight? !!! Beautiful. That impressed me a lot tonight. Bert learning Red Wings Hockey = good. Holmstrom playing 5 on 5 = bad. HHO's of LGWers not going away by now = ridiculous.

What Carman said. I am not rooting against Holmstrom, just in case you're wondering. I have been rooting for Holmstrom the better part of a decade and a half now. I just want him to be used wisely (power play) and not stupidly (5 on 5). That's all.

They should make Hockey Hall of Fame induction levels so teams could tell what numbers to retire. Immediate induction (Yzerman/Lidstrom type players)= team should retire the number immediately. One year wait (Fedorov type players) - team should retire number most of the time. Standard waiting period (Shanahan type players) = team should retire number rarely.

The Mule needs to get healthy fast.
-
I'd really like to see Forsberg if he's healthy enough to go. That would be fricking TIGHT. Forsberg-Zetterberg-Cleary Bertuzzi-Filppula-Datsyuk Helm-Williams-Leino Abdelkader-Draper-Meech Lidstrom-Ericsson Stuart-Kronwall Ralalski-Kindl Scratches - Maltby, Holmstrom, Lebda

4 months is a joke. Fischer wasn't back to 85% until a year and half later. And he never got back to 100%. The good news is that Franzen isn't a super skater in the first place. When he's fully recovered, he should look like he's always looked.

As long as Helm is in the line-up come game 1 of the playoffs, I don't really care (providing we make the playoffs).
-
I used to think that way. But then Osgood carried winning records with the Isalanders. And then he carried winning records with the Blues. The Islanders and Blues! To never have a losing season in your NHL career is quite an accomplishment, considering the number of seasons and games this guy has played. Chris Osgood is flat out a winner. http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8458568

Look. Last night was a perfect example of the problem with the Wings and Tomas Holmstrom. Ninety-Sux is SLOW and INEFFECTIVE during 5 on 5 play. He gives his linemate Holmstromeningitis during 5 on 5 play. Tomas Holmstrom is a master at what he does on the power play. He is one of the best ever to play the position of goalie screeners on the power play. How many games of Holmstrom sucking during 5 on 5 do we need to watch before we're all in agreement on this? He STINKS 5 on 5. Line 1 = Franzen - Zetterberg - Datsyuk Line 2 = Bertuzzi - Filppula - Cleary Line 3 = Leino - Helm - Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Franzen (If the Wings go up by more than 2, give Holmstrom this shift) Line 4 = Maltby - Draper - Williams PP1 = Datsyuk - Holmstrom - Zetterberg - Lidstrom - Rafalski PP2 = Bertuzi - Filppula - Franzen - Ericsson - Williams PK1 = Draper - Maltby - Kronwall - Stuart PK2 = Helm - Williams - Ericsson - Meech PK3 = Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Lidstrom - Rafalski (save these guys' strength and not play them on PK if possible) Why can't the coach make this happen? Then Holmstrom would get 4-5 minutes of PP time and be effective for all his minutes. I know more and more people are starting to see Holmstrom's deterioration. It's just a matter of time before everyone on here comes to and loses their HHO's.
-
Which part? The part where he shot it in 10 feet short of the red line and caused the icing or the part where he passed it 6 feet behind his teammate and Chicago intercepted it and turned it into a goal? Which crappy ass play are you speaking of? The guy is so lost out there 5 on 5. Datsyuk has a severe case of Holmstromeningitis because of Babcock's HHO. It's really sad.
-
Williams is better than Sammuelsson. Faster.
-
Voted. REMOVE TOMAS HOLMSTROM FROM LINE-UP. That guy stinks. Behind the play ALWAYS.
-
May. Helm won't be back til next week, brah.
-
Too bad we can't get Holmstrom more playing time in GR. That would be nice.
-
Damn. Wings going backward again. Stupid.

Larry Robinson was a +121 at one point in his career.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nskmYwGbvpo The guy gets his ass kicked every fight. I don't know how anyone thinks this guy is an enforcer. He's an enforcer's punching bag is what he is.
