"Rob Blake" and "Brian Leech" wins from rest. Nick Lidstrom should be in the running for his 9th or 10th Norris Trophy this year, but the lack of an award for the game's top offensive defenseman has taken away a few that he should have won in the past. Thoughts on this or any other trophies you'd like to see?

Ok, I stated the Nick Lidstrom award incorrectly, I think. My main point was that it was an award that the PLAYERS voted on. Like the Pearson award, but for defensemen. So scratch the definition of the Nick Lidstrom award I gave first and replace it with "Best Defenseman, as voted on by the players". Better?

Yah, the NHL should shorten the playoffs. It shouldn't be about who can stay healthy the longest, and that's what seems to be a huge factor every playoffs. Do it like the NFL. I'm happy with Malkin winning EVERY other award besides the Stanley Cup. He could clean sweep all the individual awards, so long as the Wings win the TEAM award.

I wish I could just let it rub off, but I know this chick who claims to be the most die-hard Red Wings fan on the planet, and she says his name "Lindstrom". After watching the team for 10 years, going to 5-10 games a year, and meeting up with lots of other Red Wings fans, she still says it "Lindstrom". Like nails on a chalkboard to me.

One thing that would make me happy is if all Red Wings fans knew how to say "Lidstrom". I cannot stand when people pronounce his name "Lindstrom". If he were a minor league prospect, it would still bother me. But he's on the ice half the game and the announcers say his name 50 ***** times a game. Some of the most die-hard fans still say his name "Lindstrom", and it drives me insane. Nick LIDstrom. Say it with me. The LID goes on top of the can. The LID is used to keep the vegetables fresh. The LIND does not exist. Now say "Strom" like strumming a guitar. "Strom" "Strom" Strom". "LID" now "Strom" "LIDstrom". Lidstrom

I agree with this post. The Wings probably could win without Datsyuk in the line-up. But I do think the series would be over right now if we had him for the full 5 games.

Even after 4 lines of blow, .5 grams of heroine, 1/16 of marijuana, and a 12 pack of Natural Ice, I still wouldn't EVER want the Wings to lose. I want them to win EVERY game and WIN BIG. Pulling for them to throw a game at any time is something Bettman would do.

Yes. No other player plays at Datsyuk's level as far as hand-foot-eye coordination goes. Zetterberg plays a quicker game and might be harder to knock off his skates, but he doesn't even have the one on one ability Datsyuk does.
