I think the Wings could easily get 5 more years out of him if they pair him with Ericsson. He's not quite as fast as he once was, but he's still the best all around defenseman in the game. Do you think we'll lose him after next year? I'm more concerned about his contract than Hossa's.

Marian Hossa likes the number 18. I think Maltby should have given it up when The Hoss came on board. I think management should have stepped in if Maltby didn't willingly give it up like Fischer gave up #2 to Hatcher. What do you think?

The Hoss is the highest paid player on the team. He should get what he wants, and Maltby should be happy to give it up to The Hoss. $$$

I just wanted to talk about SOMETHING ELSE than how bad certain players are playing right now. I think The Hoss should get #18 if he resigns. Maltby should give The Hoss what he wants.

I like Maltby as much as the next guy, but the guy is NOT a hall of famer. The Hoss is a future Hall of Famer. You gotta give up the sweater.

Well, I think it's more important to plug a guy like Nick Lidstrom and a guy like Brian Rafalski in front of a guy like Chris Osgood than to plug a guy like _______ and ________ in front of Cam Ward. I like the way the Wings are spreading their money. It works. I can't even name the top two defensemen for Carolina. I'm sure I'd recognize them, but they don't come to mind.

Again, if Darren Helm is the other winger on that line, and Datsyuk and Hossa still struggle, I will concede this argument. But Tomas Holmstrom is THE reason that line has sucked as of late. That line needs one player who can force the opposition to back off of Datsyuk and Hossa. It's easy to shadow Datsyuk and Hossa because Holmstrom is ALWAYS behind and can't create pressure on his own. Why is this so difficult for fans to comprehend? The HHO is tough to get rid of, I guess. "What am I going to be able to do if I can't yell "Homer" all the time in the playoffs?" Answer - The same thing you've done the last 8 games, and the same thing you'll do EVERY time we play a team that marks our best players. The press is starting to realize that Holmstrom is the poison that's holding Datsyuk and Hossa back. The announcers have also mentioned it. When are you going to believe it? Stop denying the truth and ditch the HHO.

That would have been AWESOME in game 6. The Red Wings have 3 players sitting in the tunnel waiting for time to expire. Getzlaf starts pushing Hossa around. Neidermayer starts pushing Datsyuk. All of the sudden, the Red Wings coaching staff jumps out on the ice wearing ice skates and restrains the refs and linesmen. The Red Wings bench players jump on the ice to wail on any Anaheim players coming onto the ice. Kocur, Boogaard, and Probert come out of the tunnel and jump over the boards wearing #0, #00, and the Infinity Symbol, respectively. They beat the living hell out of Getzlaf, Neidermayer, and Pronger. Ok, I'm done with my fantasy. Winning the series really was enough.

I always wondered why the Red Wings didn't have a goalie who could handle the puck better so they could shave seconds off the time they spend chasing cleared pucks on their power play. I was thinking Turco might be a good pickup after a bad season in Dallas, but that guy is WAY overpaid. The Wings are not going to spend 5 mil plus on their netminder. So is there anyone else out there that has a real good knack for handling the puck and isn't too much of a liability in the net?
