Hossa is playing like he's 5'4", 135 pounds right now. Babs should show him how his perimeter game is doing NOTHING for the Wings, tell him not to skate outside the circles again in this series, and then bench him for a period. That will get Hossa going.

This is a good post. It's frustrating to take a loss, but it's not like they didn't compete today. In my opinion, they played as bad as they could play today. And they still took a great team to 3OT's with that effort. If the Wings play well, they will win.

One simple change I think everyone would like to see is Meech for Chelios. Then Rafalski for Meech when Rafalski is ready. Having Chelios on the bench for 4 periods didn't do us much good this last game.

Kronwall hasn't laid a good hit on anybody in a long time. Helm and Stuart have been far more effectice.

Larry Lindsrtom. He is the guy that cleans the octopusses off the ice and twirls them around.

You know, you're not that far off. I mean, how many times are the Wings going to be put in a 5 on 3 situation? For being the least penalized team in the league, we get SCREWED in the playoffs. When are we going to get some of those?

Wings would have been close to Montreal in cups by now if that accident wouldn't have happened. Still irritates me to this day. Vladdy was a real special player. Not many with his all around skill set.

It's hard not to let your emotions out after a loss with so much tension throughout the game. I don't want to get too negative here, but this is the problem I have with the way the Wings looked tonight: "Throw pucks at the net" VS. "Go to the net" When the Wings "throw", they lose. This is because EVERY other team in the NHL has a goalie that can stop "thrown" pucks almost 100% of the time. So the result is that we just make the Ducks' goalies look like they're playing lights out. When in reality, they just have oversized equipment that gobbles up these weak shots. When the Wings "Go", they win. See Franzen in game one. See Lidstrom in game one. See all of 2008 playoffs. It's real simple. Hossa is playing on the perimeter "throwing" pucks at the net. No big secret why he isn't scoring. He needs to put his head down and use that body between the circles. Right now, he's only using it outside of them. I hope Babs can figure this out and adjust for game 3. It doesn't look like the officials are giving the Wings all the calls they did last year. Lots of stickwork from Anaheim. The Wings can still get through all of that, but the coach has got to step it up and get in the players faces and call them out when they're not doing the right things.
