The Wings are NOT .500, haven't been for a good stretch now, and won't be for the rest of the season. After another 20-30 games, expect them to be where they usually are during the regular season = 60% wins, 30% losses, 10% one pointers.

Nope. The "C" usually is for the player that gets to mediate what happens with the referees. That's why they always give the "C" to the player that's on the ice a lot and has a calm and respected demeanor that's official friendly. Other players take care of the "rah rah" in the dressing room.

I say we go 33 PK's in a row before we give up a goal to Stamkos.
-
That last play last night showed how pumped Draper is. Helm barely touches the puck and Draper yells "MINE!" and Helm lets go of it IMMEDIATELY. Then Draper rifles it into the empty net. Best wrist shot I've ever seen from the blue line.

That's bull, and you know it. If Canada closed its doors to hockey, it would still go on in the USA and be watched. The NHL would do fine without the Canadian teams. Hockey is important to Canada, but Canada isn't as important to hockey as the USA is.

96 played pretty well tonight and probably played a bigger part in the 2nd goal than most people noticed. Props to the demolition man tonight.
-
Yah, you really have to be on the bandwagon around here, or you get blasted. I'm not going to say anything negative about Holmstrom in this thread. I just started it to give him some props for doing a great job in that Rangers game. The way I saw it, he had a big hand in the 2nd goal and played a small part in the first one as well. His +2 for that was well deserved.

What's hilarious is that "not going well" to us means the team is in a 10 game funk. Remember that the Red Wings have gone through decades of funk in the past. It's about time people start looking at the bright side a little more. We're going to charge back to 2nd or 3rd in the conference and get a first round match-up we like in the playoffs. We'll get our injured guys back within the next 2-3 months, and we'll have a little extra cap space when it's all said and done, if I'm not mistaken. Good job by Draper, though. The Euros need a wake-up call once in a while.

The Wings aren't a sub-500 team, and Ericsson's plus-minus projects out to a minus 20 or so.
-
He's playing with Lebda, too. Let's all remember that.
-
Yup. Leino could learn a thing or two about the weight room from Dats and Filps. Filppula is a fellow finn, so maybe he could help him out.
-
Both of those, he didn't do squat. But oh well. I have Lids on my fantasy team, so I'll take em.
-
Nope. You know what I say is true. No USA, No NHL. No NHL, no hockey. It's the transitive property. Without Canada, the USA still has the NHL and hockey still is popular. Without the USA, hockey drifts off into the Lacrosse category of sports.

Hostess Donettes! Yummmmmmmm (Raises Fist in the air after chewing a chocolate donette and mumbles "Homerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" with a mouthful of crumbs!)
-
Leino just isn't fast enough. He's too old to get any faster, either. Sorry, but he's destined for another team.
-
Ericsson is too slow for the NHL, I'm afraid. I don't know if he has another level or not, but he better get there fast.
-
Playing Lebda and Ericsson together = not smart. Would be nice if Babcock would notice.
-
Any thoughts on how we can get the Demolition Man going? ZDH? HZH? HZC?
-
Hell Ya, Howard!
-
Dude, come on. Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Slice would be a good line.
-
Exactly. Watch that replay. He could have skated two strides over and knocked Boyle on his keester.
-
This condition is commonly referred to as "Holmstromeningitis". For some reason, Babcock thinks that Holmstrom absolutely has to play with Pavel Datsyuk no matter what. At least now, Zetterberg is going to be able to help Datsyuk out.
-
Why is Ericsson not hitting anyone? We need Mike Keenan sometimes to teach our guys to be tough.
-
I agree. He doesn't look that bad out there.
-
The Wings are going to win this game. 14-10-5 after tonight. Is it that bad? 4 starters injured, remember.
